    We’re doing this trail in two weeks! Watching all the videos on this trail. I hike with two dogs and it’s easy to just follow them and then realize you’re no longer on the trail! I just switched to a hammock because I can NOT sleep on the ground! Best decision I’ve made! I really enjoy all your videos. Thanks!

    My wife and I along with another couple just did an overnight backpack trip there this weekend. We did the same route as you just in the opposite direction to save the overlook for last. What an awesome hike. Can't wait to go back. The messed up thing is I grew up literally 10 miles up the road from here and besides one trip when I was a lot younger, I never spent any time there. Now that I live an hour away I feel like I'll be there more often. Makes sense right!

    I'm from SW PA. Been hiking and fishing Minister Creek since I was a Wee Lad. Some great native brook trout waters, especially for the amount of foot traffic it receives. The dark blue mouths and colorful orange/red dots on these trout are magnificent. Even though most are small in size, you will catch one or two on your trip that tip the scales and make the trip worth while. I fish only barbless hooks and quickly release them all. I have better streams to fish for the native brook trout. But, the ones in this stream are so beautiful, if not small in size. The stream stays cold even in the dead of summer. Anyway, I will be heading here tomorrow for a solo one-nighter testing some ultralight gear. I'll post some pics to this page. Good luck and happy trails on your AT thru hike. Looking forward to seeing you summit Katahdin. Best Regards.

    Great video. Nice to see a new hiker too. Keeping her load at 12 lbs. was a very good intro weight. A minor suggestion: pan side-to-side much slower with the camera. It's more visually appealing, especially with the dense detail in the forest.

      +Outdoor Adventures take a look at the ANF on google maps and look at the parts of it they destroyed with those type of gas wells and the crazy maze of wells. I have a camp up there and cover a lot of miles deer and grouse hunting. They really destroyed a lot of forest with the gas wells. Great video.

    • @716_adventures3
      @716_adventures3 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      charger7022 its a shame, a lot of northern PA is pretty destroyed from those gas wells, fracking and the oil pumps. I love just north of the ANF in NY. Luckily we banned stop hydro fracking in our state at least because they wanted to destroy some beautiful places in the southern tier

    That little canyon part was amazing. Love your channel. I love audio books for driving, but never though of them for camping. Lighter than a book and I can listen without keeping my boyfriend up with my headlamp. There is no way I'd get out of the tent that early in the rain. I'm into hiding and hoping it will let up. Great video. Subbed. -Carley

      I hadn't thought of audiobooks on the trail or at camp either before this channel, but it makes perfect sense, particularly when the cracks and rustles start to get the better of me. A little bit of calming audio to keep the old gears between the ears turning in the right direction. Shedding the weight of a book is definitely a plus.

    jusr wandering what rain gear were you both wearing? How did it hold up?

    • @FrozensAdventures
      @FrozensAdventures  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +dml505 I am wearing an Outdoor Research Helium jacket, it's been holding up great, super light and breathable and great for storms with a bit of cover above you. If you are looking at the Helium order 1 size up from your normal size as they run small. I don't usually wear rain pants but I do have some when the weather is expected to rain more than 1 day in a row. You can just go up to walmart and grab a $10 pair of running pants. But my normal hiking pants usually dry out pretty fast just from walking around.
      Check out frogs toggs or dry ducks on amazon if you are on a low budget, my buddy uses those and they haven't let him down yet. Just need to be careful as the material is really delicate.
