Today I picked some Sorrel growing in a pot of another flower…because of you..Andrew…I knew about years ago..but had forgotten till I started watching these shows!! Thank you it was a tasty addition to my salad😊
Let me just say that I'm pretty sure there is no other channel, at ANY subscriber level, that is putting out this level of quality on outdoor/adventure videos. Nobody. You guys are absolutely slaying it.
We did the same hike in mid-October, and the colors from the scenic overlook were breathtaking. It’s great to see others enjoying the Pennsylvania Wilds. Great job guys!
As a Hoosier who grew up camping I can’t get enough of this channel. I don’t remember the last thing I came across that made me smile this much. I just graduated college and it can feel like there’s enormous pressure to “be successful” or climb the corporate ladder. This is exactly what I needed to remind me to slow down and go back to what actually makes me happy. I can’t thank you guys enough for sharing this amazing content. Now I’m rounding up my friends and we’re hittin the trail. Adventure on.
Just got back from Minister Creek. If you guys ever go back, get on the South Loop. The rocks are amazing and there is a quiet hemlock grove just off of the south loop after Minister Valley Overlook. Great campsites. Be sure you have a ready supply of water, though. Not much at the highest elevations.
If any of you guys or viewers would be interested: my girlfriend and I are planning too camp at minister creek in June , probably the 15th or 16th which is during the week. We would love too meet some amazing new friends and share moments. Thank you again for producing such a great vlog from our home camp.
27:48 A tornado blew across Minister Valley west to east in June of 2015, knocking down many trees. This "brambly" portion of the trail is where young brush and vegetation is filling in, in response to the full sunlight conditions created by the tornado. Also: "if this was the brambly section they had mentioned, it wasn't all that bad." That's because our organization, Friends of Allegheny Wilderness, did an extensive trail stewardship weekend all around the Minister loop trail this past April, and cut all that brush way back through there at that time! 😁👍🏻
@@AdventureArchives Love the Minister Valley area. I recognized pretty much every view, every tree, every stream crossing, etc. you showed in your video. Did you know that Minister Valley is a prospective wilderness area, set to become permanently protected by law from all forms of development under the Wilderness Act of 1964 as part of America's National Wilderness Preservation System? :)
My camp is only a few miles from this trail and I can say you guys did it justice. Showing the natural beauty that that area has to provide, not only on that trail but many many others.
best hour and a half i ever spent not on trail. Thank you gentleman for the presentation. I can hike a trail, i can carry a camera, i can edit footage, of all mister creek trail and never come close to this. You guys are doing fantastic..
Andrew, you dont give up until you ARE SUCCESSFUL in your quest. Man, that was some patience to create and ignite that dust. Thank goodness, you all in the future found a better and stress free tool to ignite fire :) I do enjoy watching the process.
Found your videos in the middle of the 100+ degree summer in Central California. Gives me the outdoor time I'm lacking! My six year old loves watching them too. Thanks and keep enjoying life and sharing it with us.
I've lived in PA all my life, and spent most days in the woods as a kid. Pennsylvania truly is a beautiful state, and I love the forests here. So much love in my heart for PA!!
Utmost respect to Andrew with the bow drill. You showed real character, determination, and honorable persistence. Thanks for sharing these videos with us. Wishing you many more adventures! 🏕
Everytime I watch a video, I think it can't possibly get better....and then your next one comes out! You all knock it out the ballpark every.damn.time. This is how I relax and unwind, Excellent job!
This is my favorite episode I must have watched this 20 times. Something about you guys gathering around a fire in the perfect atmosphere and scenery is relaxing and entertaining
I turn on your videos to relax,/de-stress. Between the scenery and the narration, It's what I need to let go of stress. I also watch them to unwind before I go to sleep. Thank you.
I’ve been enjoying your trip around minister rocks. I live here in the National Forest 🌳. Thank you for shining the light farther and wider from our little corner of paradise. Please come back. 🍄
There’s nothing more amazing than seeing friends share food, snacks and all meals one spoon at a time, you guys camaraderie is the best example for all us humans 🤣😇❤️ we look forward for continued success and be safe always ❤️😎 btw can you guys also put on the description those eatery place at the end of your hikes 🙏🙏🙏
I have NEVER SEEN THAT MANY PATREON SUPPORTERS FOR A CHANNEL... Y'all are number 1 and number 2 i've seen had about 5 times less supporters--and that channel has over a million subs. That just shows that all of the love, time, and care you all put into each episode is coming back to you. It is so amazing and refreshing and I am so grateful. Thank you for all that you do.
Hello from Australia! We love watching your channel. We enjoy the beauty of your country through you. One day, we’ll check out a few of your trails. This one is a botanical doozy.
This was my first backpacking trip as a 10-year old. That was 32 years ago. Those two brushy sections you crossed were the result of a microburst that ran down and up the valley about 10 years ago. Sadly, some campers lost their lives. It completely changed the landscape. Now, there is a beaver dam at the base of that overgrow trail you tried to take to the west on day one. It will take a generation at least to get back to normal. Thanks for the video.
Every time I watch your guys amazing videos, I just wanna leave my life behind and let the road take me to a beautiful location you guys had been. I learn so much from yours about camping. Keep it up!!
I try to make it a goal of mine to only watch videos of trails I've either already done or will never do. I completed this loop in 2018, but you make me want to get right back out there and re-experience it! I freakin loved the tea drinking scene. This is cinema quality!
One of your best videos yet; watching from my couch, I feel like I'm actually on vacation experiencing what you guys are. What a tremendous addition to our American Experience that you offer the public. Keep it up; can't wait to watch these vids when I'm retired and too decrepid to even hike anymore.. hopefully never. You guys are a true asset to the American way of life.
I know this is the older video of you guys but I love that you guys always always try to compromise with each other and that's what friends are for love you guys man
It would be cool if you guys did like a podcast type of thing when you are sitting around the campfire, throwing ideas and thoughts around. I think it would be pretty enjoyable to listen to. Just an interesting idea.
I just have to tell you ( all three of you plus Thomas) how much I’ve enjoyed each and every video! It’s so refreshing to find wholesome conversation that I wouldn’t be disturbed even if my 5 year old grandson watched. I love seeing, learning and listening to such interesting hiking adventures!!! Many many thanks. Keep these videos coming., !!!
This is the best channel on TH-cam. I've been a subscriber for two years and the quality, the dialogue, and the philosophy is what makes this a great channel for me.
Im missing the wilderness right now, but men watching your videos while in home quarantine I feel like Im in the wilderness. Thank you for sharing your adventures to us. More videos and adventures to come. Salute.
Great video, I grew up in tionesta which is about 10 minutes from this trail and I feel lucky now that I know other people appreciate the beauty of forest county.
A very good adventure. Thank you. Your short clips at the end were hilarious, the best of all the ones up to this point that I've seen. I like how Andrew is incorporating more of his Gung Fu into your shows and especially into those short clips.
A year ago today, I did a day hike to the summit of Mt. Whitney. I was in a bit of a hurry and a significant portion of it was in the dark so I missed the little pathway down to Mirror Lake off the main trail. So yesterday, I decided to do a day hike to Mirror Lake and on the way there from the trailhead, I ran into a group of people getting in a little practice before doing their own trip to the summit today. One of the guys saw my Adventure Archives sunset t-shirt and said he loved the shirt and that Adventure Archives is one of his favorite TH-cam channels. Reppin' the 'Chives!!!
I enjoy your videos very much. The filming and editing make the viewer feel like they are there with you. The discussions of plants and mushrooms are very interesting. Living in the Western U.S., it is a treat to see and learn about the trees and plants in the Eastern part of the country. I also love the music.
Thanks for taking me on your journey through the lush greenery of the Allegheny Forest. Brings me back to my childhood of picking mayapples and using the jewelweed to fight off the poison ivy that I happened to brush up against while playing in the woods. The ferns lining the forest are simple outstanding. I have never seen so many ferns in one area. It gives one the feeling of peacefulness. That jack-in-the-pulpit was the perfect specimen! One day I will venture back east to hike that area.
Are you all really eating mayapples? When I was just a youngster I read of a Native American who was captured by the enemy. As he was being marched along a mayapple lined path, deciding that death was better than captivity, he ingested some mayapple leaves and quickly departed this world. I assume it was a true story? Anyway, I just looked up mayapples and Mama Google says the whole plant is deadly poison. The apples are not as poison when ripe but should still be eaten sparingly and carefully. Love these videos. Just happened upon them and am thoroughly enjoying them. Thanks so much!
congrats on your bow-drill fire.. there is a special feeling the first time you create fire from a couple sticks and a piece of rope... both a confidence in yourself and a connection to all those who used this method for survival..
Sitting here watching and enjoying the video. At 43:34 while drinking your green tea I saw something to right of Robbie on the other side of the stream. Backed it up and saw a deer moving through. Love catching little “easter eggs” like that. Great video gents. Cheers.
Your films are a great way to start the evening after a long day working. I am like camping on the couch with you guys, with my bowl of salad or a plate of hot food on my lap. Not sharing lol. I love the scenery of this film especially, and also all the detail and educational parts you guys always put in it. I go camping tomorrow, bicycle to the Dutch coast, next day a long hike in the dune forest and the day after bicycle home. Being outside gives so much energy :)
You guys are very special. Technically you produce some wonderful work: interesting content with visual appeal. Philosophically you verbalize ideas and beliefs that have been part of my own system for many years. They are a pleasure to receive from you. I am a Nomad. I live primarily in the Sonoran Desert of Southern Arizona, but I am also an easterner from the mountains of North Carolina and the Smokies are my true home. I wish you safe and pleasant travels wherever you go; and as the Dine’ say: “May you always walk in Beauty.” Don
I can see this channel getting over a million subs. Your editing skills are on another level. A person can see all the time and effort you guys put into these videos.
I really enjoyed watching your video backpacking on trails. I live not far from Minister Creek. Never been hike the trail yet. But gave me some ideas. We are heading to Shenandoah for my hubby and I 24th anniversary ❣️ I watched ur video while u were taping it in there. Thanks for the good info and tips👍
You guys are awesome. I broke my leg in November and have binge watched your videos. Thank you so much for your authenticity and passion for the outdoors. Looking forward to your adventures to come as well as my own. Take care, guys.
My parents grew up in Sheffield. I visited the grandparents and other relatives in Sheffield every summer. No place has ever been as beautiful for me. Return in the fall, trace the same path, and make a second video, please.
Finally a new AA Episode. There is no better way to Start your Sunday Morning here in Germany with a Cup of coffee and a new Episode. Even when the Weather is bad here you just made my Day Guys. Best Wishes!
The family and I went for a little day hike exploring at a place called Jake's Rocks up around the Morrison trail area. It had huge boulders all over and the kids loved climbing all over them.
Another beautiful adventure guys. IMO you guys set the bar for backcountry video production. Super impressed with your bow drill fire starting Andrew. Your patience is inspiring. Thanks, as always, for taking us along.
I have found we have done well over 8 of the exact same locations. These videos take me back. The one you did in Dolly Sods was great. Thats my go to every summer. ANF is my 2nd most frequented forest being from NE Ohio!
Excellent episode guys! Beautifully shot! Really got into the music. I loved Andrew's commitment to fire starting with the bow drill and was as amazed as Robby was by his skills! Andrew's drinking in Mother Nature's tea room. :) Enjoyed the plant and tree id. Episode rounded out appropriately with that delicious looking post hike meal and those shouts outs...Lol! I didn't know Andrew had a twin! Like Garakfan, I spotted that bounding deer too. :) Also one of the best lines in an AA episode from Robby, "Tastes like a hotel in China." LOL
Big fan of that area which is how I stumbled onto your channel. Looking forward to catching up on what I missed - this is some seriously quality stuff and the joy and humility in nature is very refreshing. The first look at Triple Fork campground at 39:09 brings me back to the time I first saw it. Seeing and hearing the joy in your faces/voices, the cries of "Andrew! You got to see this!" , "Pick of the litter" etc. were very much like when I first heard the rushing water and skipped through the sapling tunnel into that clearing. FYI the NCT that continued due north as you passed to take the north loop of the Minister Creek trail only climbs uphill 100' before leveling out. The 3.9 miles to the next trailhead at FR 116 includes an old railroad grade that makes you think you're walking a private road. There's some neat rocks including one that looks like a giant macaroon!
Minister creek is one of my favorite trails to do a quick overnight or stretch it to a weekend. While watching I was waiting to see your reaction to the Forks campground area as it’s one of the nicest places to camp. The area you passed at an hour and four minutes in the video was the result of a micro burst three years ago. It leveled the trees, and it’s regrown with brush. That was also the same storm that knocked a tree over onto a tent and killed someone.
just got back from a two week journey throughout rural Norway and national parks, you guys HAVE GOT to go there. absolutely stunning nature/country. love the videos!
We camped at the exact site you guys were at for night 2 maybe two weeks before you were there. We had ourselves a little spiritual experience around that fire. I sat on that throne up against the one tree for a good portion of the night.
I really like all your videos and you guys being not so old yet so mature in your concepts in life and it’s aspects ! I am sad to see the mankind’s are ruining the beautiful nature and only in the deep woods we can enjoy the beautiful nature and it’s meaning helps us to be content without all fancy materials that people spend so much time to acquire them ! Thank you so much for your zeal for the nature and appreciating the simpleness in life!
Hands down, without a doubt this is THEE best episode of Adventure Archives ever...and that is saying a LOT considering all of your episodes are hands down some of the best outdoor trekking videos on the planet. Just incredible guys! PS: Andrew, I thoroughly enjoyed the long, slow, close-ups of your left toes while trying to round-wood some fire. #FabulousFeet
51:50 - People ask me, "When you go camping at these places, what do you do?" My answer, "I don't do anything because there isn't anything to do." Thanks for showcasing one of my favorite places. Minister Creek is only 45 miles from my home. It's a great place to spend a day or a weekend for me. We just had a group hammock camp there the end of July.
I just found you guys about a month ago and I am loving the channel! Love the filming, the narration and the camaraderie- really everything is amazing. Your videos just feel good :D
I live in PA and there are many beautiful trails here. I live in Beaver Falls, PA and out here in Beaver County PA there are some neat trails and old cemeteries. Pretty neat place to live.
Today I picked some Sorrel growing in a pot of another flower…because of you..Andrew…I knew about years ago..but had forgotten till I started watching these shows!! Thank you it was a tasty addition to my salad😊

10-5-19 EST. Yes I also agree 100%. I am " LOST FOR WORDS" You guys are just AWESOME !!! ( I enjoy ALL your videos) ( a subscriber in TN )
100% i agree with you.
I’m here a year later.… this statement is still true
I absolutely agree this channel is astronomical
We did the same hike in mid-October, and the colors from the scenic overlook were breathtaking. It’s great to see others enjoying the Pennsylvania Wilds. Great job guys!
I work as a naturalist and I love that you incorporate short nature education information. I enjoy this video very much!!!
What does your job as a naturalist entail? Sounds interesting.
But sometimes I just want to see them hike and not stop every 2 min to identify a plant. Ugh.
Best part of each video they make? You guessed it! The Post hike meal! These guys could do food commercials. They make everything look delish!
There is no reason these needed to be so well done. I’m just thankful they are.
As a Hoosier who grew up camping I can’t get enough of this channel. I don’t remember the last thing I came across that made me smile this much.

That is ... now Hopefully ! I hope everyone is healthy. Please be safe. The forest may be the best place now hey.
27:48 A tornado blew across Minister Valley west to east in June of 2015, knocking down many trees. This "brambly" portion of the trail is where young brush and vegetation is filling in, in response to the full sunlight conditions created by the tornado.
Also: "if this was the brambly section they had mentioned, it wasn't all that bad." 43:33 there's a deer running right behind you guys on the far right
John Burney I noticed that as well, super cool!
That was my Black Lab. J/K, may have been a deer, maybe.

I love the comradery. The spirit of the relationship is genuine that reflects on the video. Cinematography is superb. Happy birthday Bryan.
The family and I went for a little day hike exploring at a place called Jake's Rocks up around the Morrison trail area. It had huge boulders all over and the kids loved climbing all over them.
The tinder starting to smoke from the ember was very satisfying. Really enjoyed all the plant content and production. Excellent ending. Thank you!
Another beautiful adventure guys. IMO you guys set the bar for backcountry video production. Super impressed with your bow drill fire starting Andrew. Your patience is inspiring. Thanks, as always, for taking us along.
Absolutely stunning! What a gorgeous landscape. I've always been envious of you folks in the midwest/east for your gorgeous forest areas.
There's some neat rocks including one that looks like a giant macaroon!
did this one a few times, this is such an awesome trail, awesome prim campsites everywhere, very few people, no noise pollution, so good
This was literally my first ever backpacking trip. What a memory
Camera shots are masterful. Thank you.
This was so enjoyable! I camped at the same site last year. It's such an awesome trail to explore. Had a good laugh at the sipping tea bit 🤣
Do you know where the restaurant is they stopped at?
just got back from a two week journey throughout rural Norway and national parks, you guys HAVE GOT to go there. absolutely stunning nature/country. love the videos!
I love that you guys love pickles! Lol.. who doesn't? Great content here from a really nice bunch of guys. Recommended viewing.
Great job on the fire.
Those are some incredible campsites by the creek there. I can't wait to get there myself!
Your videos are always successful in helping me battle the depression that seems to set in over the winter months
kckrye isn’t that so true. Just consuming. It’s so easy too fall into the time you feel like your there.
This is the channel I’ve been looking for! Love the writing and music.
Lovely picturesque scenery by the running waters.
David Schmude yeah , you do everything you don’t do in your daily grind. There are so many great responses too that question. 🍄
I just found you guys about a month ago and I am loving the channel! Love the filming, the narration and the camaraderie- really everything is amazing. Your videos just feel good :D
PS- thank you for the BORG reference- like you read my mind
I live in PA and there are many beautiful trails here. I live in Beaver Falls, PA and out here in Beaver County PA there are some neat trails and old cemeteries. Pretty neat place to live.
it is lovely. fan from Korea
Thank you so much! :D
