    How many more years untill it needs a battery and how much do they cost?

    • @GoHerping
      @GoHerping  ปีที่แล้ว

      they don't really offer battery replacements, and it's kind of to-be-determined how long they last since the oldest model 3s are only 6 years old so far. they claim the battery pack should last 300k to 500k miles, but tesla claims a lot of things lol. some have hit 300k already, which have 20% range degradation but still working. so i think the idea is once the range is too low for your usability, you'd trade it in for a new one, and then once the batteries are useless, they get removed and recycled into new battery packs. so i'm probably good for another 10 years hopefully? but i imagine i'll have something new by then

      I've had my 2013 Elantra since it had 30k miles. It's now at over 230k, I've driven every level of road from dirt/gravel to pot hole nightmares and I've been hauling all sorts of heavy things with it from people to packages, I even pulled a trailer with it for a few months. It has never even once needed a suspension repair. In fact, the only parts that have ever needed work are the AC and the starter, excluding scratches to the paint. Never had nor needed a tune-up. Just replace the fluids and flush the radiator every 40k. Still works great. A bit more noisy under the hood but again, it's at 230k+ miles...

      @fantasyskeep ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry Alex, but I'm gonna reiterate. My economy care has needed 2 repairs in 10 years... Mr. Repaired My Suspension Four Times... ;) @@GoHerping

    • @SpookyCharms
      @SpookyCharms ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GoHerpingthat's because the average car is almost 13 years old and has problems. No modern car should cost that much to maintain. My hybrid 2018 is like 4 oil changes a year, that's it. Including when I did Lyft more than you've done Uber. I have zero noticeable damage to my car from doing Lyft other than someone spilling a drink and not telling me so it molded - sprayed bleach on it and it was fixed. Already had the bleach so it was free. My tank is less than $50 and I fill up once a week max. So I'm also spending about the same as you on energy cost. My hybrid car wasn't even $25,000 and I've never had to redo the suspension- let alone 4 times.
      I get that you're a major Elon simp, but I honestly don't see how you can't see that needing major body work that many times in 4 years is a problem.

The crackling and rattling down the road is so embarrassing. Being such a quiet car u can just hear anything and everything. I really dislike the screen. I have to look out of the road just to see how fast im going. The worst part is my Tesla would not supercharge. Ended up only using it for a day. Glad to not own one. I recently had my first ever ride in a tesla ever let along a model, and i just wasn't all that dam impressed. It was nice enough, but for the darn money and how expensive they are, I wasn't all that impressed with the ride quality or really the sound Isolation. Yes, it was quiet, but do you also know what else has excellent sound isolation? Like ever modern car, what is also its weaknesses. I honestly wasn't all that impressed all honestly, and I have heard other car guys overly guss over them and also heard even more car guys also say why they are over-rated. Basically, what I imagined all these years. Over hype and boring, but again, it could be me being a car guy. I have also riding in much nicer and just as equally boring, sounding cars for the money two, tho. Am I just sincle? I will leave that up to you, but I think I am just being honest, really. BTW I love the wrap tho. BTW I would be really careful about letting people have open containers in your car. Kinda a big no no if you get caught. @GeneralTaco155555a ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GoHerping You can open a car door fairly easily until the car is significantly submerged. Losing power to the doors would mean crucial time lost where pressure isn't too much of an issue yet.
      An older/disabled person, or a child in a carseat would have no means of escape; first because there's no door handle, and then because of pressure.
      Even a reasonably able bodied adult would probably have a difficult time getting out (and if the driver+ front passenger are incapacitated and in the way, it would be even worse).
      Not a Tesla hater generally, this just seems like a massive hazard for the sake of being "futuristic"

    I think it's fine for you to avoid taking disabled people, especially since you know you car isn't ideal for them. Where I live, there are dedicated free transport for people with mobility issues and it's something I believe should exist everywhere since it saves everyone a lot of headaches since the vehicles are all adapted and the person who needs the ride doesn't have to worry wether or not they will be able to get in.

      This is why good bus service is so important in cities. I see many disabled people on the bus and the vehicles have a lot of features to accommodate them.

      @@rileyrainbow7611they aren’t employees tho, Uber doesn’t want hourly employees so you don’t get the protection that an hourly employee driver might offer. A contract driver absolutely has the right to refuse to enter their personal property and a police officer is always gonna be on the side of the driver, since the patron can simply just request another ride.

    Bit cringe to deny service from people who actually need it, but at the end of the day, it's your job, you can choose the clients. Damage to the car seems very light though.
