A massive shout out to The Waltham Forest Choir, and TM for this one. Well done everyone, and is also for a good cause which i personally know a lot about. Mental health, depression, anxiety, Bi polar, the lot. We need to raise awareness, and help everyone who suffers, and this is a step in the right direction. Well done people. BH x

I lost my Son 18 years ago , he drowned in a pond … , William I Love you with my whole ❤️. RIP 🪦- see again one day in the ☁️ x x x. One day we will have another day together x x x
Forgive me my poor English. My grandfather told me a story when I was very young : Once a wise one put his head in a well... He was born, lived an entire life and passed away. The wise rose his head from the well, maybe this video's time had passed by. The moment ye'll be reunited, on the River Jordan's bank, I'll make sure to be in the distance. God may bless ye both.
I am muslim, so I love jesus too, but I don't care about chrismas. However, I am agry with you, absolutely heartbreaking and beautiful. I hope our unique god takes care about your son, giving him his majestic mercy owing he rest in peace. I pray for you sheila and for all parents who have lost their child.
All my best to you Sheila🙏🏽❤️ My sister took her life almost 20 years ago as a young mother. Bless anyone working towards preventing suicide❤️🙏🏽 Happy Holidays to you all 🌹Keep your loved ones close💕
This beautiful song was No 1 the day my eldest son Jack was born prematurely.. He sadly only lived for 2 hours... This song will always remind me of.him...💔
Love this song it was what I chose to be played at my boyfriends funeral because East17 was all he listened to ♥ This was lovely especially the girl that sang the second verse what a lovely voice she has
I come back to this every year now (2024). Beautiful voices both of the main singers. This song will never die. A classic is a classic forever. Still have my original cd single of it from Woolworths! Kudos to Tony for playing the piano but giving the kids the limelight. Top man.
Who knew this song was written in memory of Tony Mortimer’s Brother 2 years after he committed suicide??? Mental Health is important and talking about it is medicinal...
Well done to everyone who took part in making this song. Its lovely to see very young people showing kindness and repect to each other. After all there is too much hate and anger in society today😮
What a beautiful version of that East 17 song. I'm beyond words to hear and see one of my youth time favourites performed again. Cheers from Germany and Happy Holidays to everyone of you!
Only just found this, great job all of you, very powerful version 🙏 I'm 49, my dad killed himself 33 years ago when I was about the same age as you guys are now. We need to help people stay and your beautiful tribute touches my heart. Thank you.
Why is this not played on live radio this year. Its brilliant not just for the tune but that fact we can all come together and do good things as this choir proved.
I found this version by accident but what a version, well done to all who made it possible. Being from Walthamstow myself hearing music from East17 always brings back good memories and respect for bad ones, This song (Original Version) helped me through a very dark time in my life and will always be the song that live rent free in my mind. Its a Shame the band don't work through the issues they have even just to bring some positivity into todays climate, but who knows , Just wanted to comment its a beautiful version of an already great song, well done WFYC!
You find whatever meaning in every song you hear. This is a classic and has helped me more than Tony Mortimer will ever know. CALM deserve all credit and funds. They are amazing
Be proud east 17 for the legacy you left with this song. All of you played your part. Tony this song was a master-stroke. Look at these kids just heart-warming.
This Christmas, Tony Mortimer of East 17 and Waltham Forest Youth Choir cover the classic track ’Stay Another Day’ in support of CALM, a charity dedicated to preventing male suicide. Recorded in Walthamstow E17 where it all began! More info: stayanotherday.info
To be fair I started to watch this thinking I wouldn't like it... Well I was wrong, its fantastic, these kids have great voices and do the song justice.. 👏👏 Thumbs up
Beautiful, expressive singing. The fact two of the lead singers have gone through the Music in Secondary Schools Trust (MiSST) programme clearly demonstrates the benefits of providing free music tuition early in your education. Let's hope this goes to No 1 in the charts.
Good point those singers were sensational, the first one was amazing the second one brought many tears to my face. What was that, was it an Indian influenced Style?
THIS SONG MEANS the world to me ESPECIALLY the classic 1994 version thank you Tony Mortimer Brian harvey And all that did the 1994 version Mental health awareness Be safe
Tony was the musician lyricist and backbone. Brian was lead singer, not sure what John or Terry did bar Dance🤷🏼♀️ it even says on on of their early videos Terry he can dance a bit but can’t sing 😂
O wauw back in the days I never understood the message of this song. I thought it was about missing love, not about suicide. Gives me real chills. Awesome done!
Stunning beautiful big shout to walthamforest choir and Tony Mortimer such a good cause mental health can effect anyone of us any time in life dowload this today lets and lets get it to number one fab.
Your sound is amazing, I cried from start to end, it brought back great memories of my teenage years, I sang it to my girlfriend years ago to stop her from going and it worked, I love this track, I'm so proud of these great voices, all the kids here should be on Britain's got talent, I would pay too see you perform
If you can spare a thought for those you would leave behind then surely it has to be worth holding onto the life that you have. It's one reason why i am still here.
Surely the young lady leading the song has been talent-spotted by now? What a fanrastic voice! Same goes for the second singer and indeed, all the choir! Brilliant!
This is Waltham NORF of London but basically North London where I banged abaat...and knocked araand... loved this version. ... and the moral is no matter what the source or muse of the art.... it doesn’t matter what the record biz guys or any of the other art executives and middle men try and do.... the beauty of all artistic endeavours are always just waiting there to be discovered... bare naked and ignored or under dust or just missed or misunderstood ... dig deeper..... this song is pure love from a brother to his brother.... my heart goes out to anyone that has to feel that sort of pain.... god bless you Tony my son is called Oliver I wish you and all involved love from a another brother
This is an awesome song, always loved it ! I don't think East17 were properly recognised as the songwriting geniuses they were. Love this rendtion too. Great work!
Tony Mortimer yeah. It's a travesty he isn't writing with more folks and singing in a group setting (cause he excels at writing for different vocal ranges to just his own)
Tim Mortimer (the songwriter to this song and the leadsinger of the group) must be touched by this choir. I feel touched by their performence. I hope this song can heal a little bit the hearts of Tim and his mother, cause Tim wrote this song to a tributue to his brother that committed suicide.
BH x
That's a wonderful sentiment Brian may peace be with you and God Bless you all this Christmas 🙏🏼
Well Said Brian ❤
Very well said, I also love the original version as well, I wish you well Brian.
Adding your vocals onto this would of been perfect. Imagine after 25 years another n.o one m8.
Peace BH ✌🏻

I recently discovered the original song and today I thought: There must be a cover worth listening to… didn’t expect to find something this beautiful!
Great to see a younger generation knocking this out the park

nah, the last voice is angelic, pure..
They are both good in there own way
@@jamesharris8422 yes :), its a lovely moving arrangement...
yeah ...both singers are excellent ..and they restrained themselves from falling into that vocal gymnastic trap ... just delivered what was necessary.
So so sad reading all these comments, this song is so beautiful, RIP to all loved ones people lost
This is a prime example how we can do beautiful things together if one person dares and takes the helm to make it happen.
The voices, oh my god, beautiful- made me cry

Great version! I was born in E.17 - almost opposite where this was recorded (if it was in the Town Hall) - 69 years ago!
Great to see the next generation sing this song.
Good to see the song being used with the sentiment it was written as instead of just a Christmas jingle which most saw it as originally.
One of my absolute favourite songs around the Christmas time, love it, well done Tony
@Reflex Boy 1985 he certainly was... They were really cool
The Girl at 1:54 totally killed it, well done to her..
