For the starting issue, I've heard if you hold the kill button for a fraction of a second while cranking, the bike will fire upon releasing the button. Just something to try if you're having this problem.
hi, i'm about to mount an sxs CDI on my exc 125 2010.. on the website says that i need to use at least 98 octane fuel but i want to know if i can use the normal 95 octane.. what fuel did you use?
@christianmoscarella4163 I only ran pump 91. Never had any issues. Keep in mind altitude may affect this. I ride mostly around 2500ft. If you live outside of North America your pump fuel octane ratings may read higher for the same quality of fuel.
I agree with this video. I felt i lost top end over rev with it. Took it off after ten minutes and put the stock back in. I Installed a TSP medium head though which did ALOT to the powerband. SO in the same sense the head change is an excellent and well worth upgrade.
Hi I know I'am late but i was thinking about getting the high compression cylinder head for my bike and was wonder if its just ready to be bolted on right out of the box or do i need to change the ignition timing or get high compression piston rings or anything like that i have a 2017 gas gas ec 300 its a carb engine .Thanks in advance.
Its a very easy install. No modifications needed. Just bolt the new head on and your good to go. My bike is a carbureted 2015. I used the highest compression insert even at low elevation. Running 91octane. Runs great. The only thing I had to adjust was my idle screw after the install. Bumped the idle up just a little bit
All my jetting is the same. I just had to adjust the idle screw slightly after the high compression head install. Everything else seemed bang on still. It was a relatively easy install all said and done.
I put the S3 on and now it doesn't work properly when it heats up, it detonates I also changed jets and so on I also put low compression for the technique riding.
@emis.2217 are you running at pretty low altitudes? I’m genuinely curious as mine as always ran perfect with the highest compression insert. I’ve never tested it below 2000ft elevation though.
Believe it or not I was running a +1 front and -2 rear. Definitely not a popular combo as that’s backwards to most people but I liked it for the areas I rode. On these bikes 1st gear is almost useless. Making the gearing a bit longer with the extra bottom end torque worked well for me!
Yes sir. 80-85 hard hrs and still looked fine. Easily could have went longer. Gotta love the old carb bikes. They are extremely reliable. I have 140hrs on the bike now with the high compression head and race ignition and still runs flawlessly with good compression.
@@JT2JZ damn that’s amazing. I got a 125 carb and now doing a top end rebuild with 50 hours or something looks flawless with the cross hatching and stuff but stil feel uncomfortable to run it anymore then that.
Do you notice the difference in the motorcycle with the s3 cylinder head compared to the stock one? If so, in what sense, please detail it to me, what is your real experience, I await your clarification, greetings.
The s3 cylinder head woke up the low end grunt. It lugs a lot harder before the power valve opens. Only down side is the electric start. With the added compression the electric start definitely struggles. I end up kicking it over most of the time
@@JT2JZ Regarding the change of switchboard, what do you appreciate compared to the series? what do you notice? can it be used with all types of gasoline?

Thanks for sharing. I will have to try that technique
I agree 100 percent about the head. On my TPI the ECU made a big difference. But I can see why yours wouldn’t being a carb. Thanks for the video

@@JT2JZ i live in Italy and in my zone there's only 95 octane..thanks for the reply man!
Great review, appreciate the post!

Definitely a totally different power band. Takes some getting used to that’s for sure
That is 0 to 6000 for AAA and 6-12 according to sheet

Make sure you are using premium fuel.
@@JT2JZ I also used Premiun doesn't do it all the time only after it heats up very much, something like when it starts to boil

Hi, I'm ready to buy an old CDI from you
I may sell my stock one for the right price. Send me a message on Instagram. JT2JZ.
