    I found installing mating the two piece head together and then screwing in the spark plug hand tight will hold the head together while you install it on the cylinder. Just makes for one less o-ring to worry about during the head install.

      I just got a 22 TE150i and was looking into getting a TSP kit. do you run the low, med or high compression head?

    Do you guys have an install video for the 23 300 TBI head?

      Sorry, we do not, but pretty much the same process. On the new TBI heads, the head/insert design is different. After we set the cylinder orings, we align just the insert on top of the cylinder to ensure the insert mating protrusion is aligned in the groove of the cylinder. Once the insert is in place, we verify the insert oring is in place, then we set the cap on top of the insert, and start inserting head bolts with new copper washers.

    What about squish measurement? Is not required that squish stay between a specific range with new head?
    What about the air mixture screw (bypass) setting for 2020 250TPI with TSP Power kit?

      The squish is set using the stock base gasket set up of 0.6mm. Usually stacking a .2 and a .4mm gasket. Specific instructions are included in the kit. If the bike has less than 100 hours on it, no need to pull the cylinder, just slap the head on it. Settings for the air bypass screw and power valve are provided with the TSP install instructions.

    Looks fairly easy to install I just bought a new 2021 KTM 250 XC tpi and it runs horribly. Running rich and was fouling plugs, my KTM dealer is having a KTM service rep look at it. SO frustrating! Regardless of them fixing it I"m thinking these mods are the way to go!? I'll be in touch.

      I have a 2020 250 that had zero motor issues from the factory. It was good. But after installing the TSP kit, the powerplant is now next level. So much more fun to ride.

      Mine is exactly the same, runs horribly, rich an fouling plugs, my Ktm dealer had a tinker but it’s no better, have you managed to improve it at all? I wonder if it’s the mapping on the standard ecu that is garbage?

      @@52yamahar1 I have the same bike. The TSP kit transforms how the motor runs. It's amazing. However, there is always a possibility that you may have something else going on mechanically with the motor or fuel system.. Give us a call and we can try and help you get it sorted out by suggesting a few things to try.

      The TSP head squish is set with the stock base gasket height which is 0.60mm on most 150, 250 and 300 two strokes. If you are just installing the head, no need to change base gaskets provided they are stock and not changed out. If you are doing a top end, be sure to stack a 0.2mm and a 0.4mm base gasket to get the proper deck height and squish.

    Can a medium head be ok to ride on Colorado above 9000 ft or it will be good to swap with a high compression head?

      The medium head will work but for those elevations, the high or very high compression head would be best. You lose 3% of your compression every 1,000 feet of elevation gain above sea level.

    Have been scared of this thing because TSP site talks a bunch about measuring squish and swapping base gaskets as necessary.... you did not appear to do that step. Is that no longer an issue with this kit? Thank you.

      Measuring squish and swapping base gaskets is not necessary. Most all TSP heads are set to run the stock base gasket of 0.60mm. The head squish is set to this spec. As long as the stock base gaskets have not been changed, or replacements were installed with 0.60 mm, then just bolt on the head and go.

    Hi Steve, I see different part numbers between GasGas kit and Ktm/Husky. What is the difference ? Can you put a Ktm 2021 kit on an 2021 GasGas ?

      Different part numbers but the parts and maps are exactly the same for KTM, Husky and Gas Gas. Makes no difference.

    What Aftermarket pipe and muffler do you recommend for the KTM 150XCW 2021 with this kit? Cheers

      We like the stock pipe and muffler, but the kit will tolerate just about any pipe and muffler you want to run.

      @@WADZUP TSP has been doing some testing with the Scalvini pipe with good results. Adds a bit more revs and power up top.

      @@sbmotoperformance Great advice I’d love to test it as well did you also notice that the sound changed a bit I was listening to a video the other night it sounded like it added a little bit of attitude in a good way. Sounded crisp and snappy

    I installed one of these kits a few months ago on my 2020 te300 also did the idle screw mode, turned the air screw in 1 turn which is 2 turns out,bike idles perfect except when it gets hot at or around fan kicking in temp, it idles very slow almost stalling slow, any ideas?

      Did you install the idle screw? If so, turn the idle screw in slightly to increase the idle speed. See our video on how to set the idle by measuring TPS voltage. Set at 600 mv. Also, back out your air screw to 2.5 or even 3.0 to help clean up that idle circuit if needed.

      @@sbmotoperformance yes I installed the idle screw, idle speed drops to almost nothing and it bogs easy, feels like I'm in 2nd gear when I'm actually in first when I'm in slow technical stuff and engine temps have risen, Im always riding in a group so don't get a chance to play around with the air screw, I turned it out 1 full turn after last ride will see how it goes now, that's the setting it was at originally . I'll check out your tps video thanks for responding, wish I'd never done the idle screw mod bike was running pretty good when I first got it.

      @@mathewsharp233 Bike should not be bogging at all with the TSP kit. Set the TPS to 600 mv, and put the air screw at 2.5 to 3.0 turns out. If that doesn't solve the issue, then you likely have a bad CCP sensor or a bad Ambient sensor. Unfortuanltey, very common with these TPI's.

      @@sbmotoperformance I did actually turn the screw back to where it was originally so it is 3 turns out now but haven't ridden bike yet and it's a bit hard to test because it only happens when it's at or close to the temp fan kicks in so 90 - 95c,been thinking all along that it is the air scree because it didn't do it before installing the kit and messing with it.
      Also when I first started the bike after tsp install the engine light was flashing, at the time I thought that was because I undid the tps to put a guard on it and it had changed position slightly but it stopped flashing as soon as started turning the idle up, is it possible that has something to do with it?
      I need to do some solo rides and make adjustments,on a ride with a big group of guys just don't get a chance. If I was to do it again I think I would also tack weld something onto the head of idle screw so I could turn it with my fingers.

      @@mathewsharp233 Yes, if the light was flashing you have an error code. The number of flashes will tell us what the error code it is. If the bike is running different based on temps, then it's either a water temp sensor or one of the other sensors I mentioned. Please give us a call and we can discuss live on the phone.

      @@sbmotoperformance Quick question about the low compression head. Is this equivalent to stock compression or lower. I am interested in this kit as I want the low end capability to lug without stalling that this seems to give.

      @@johnchafin3817 The TSP low comp head is similar to the stock head's compression, but a much better dome design. For the majority of 300's out there, we recommend the med comp head. It gives a nice boost off idle and more torque in the mid range, while still being very linear. The low comp heads are used by Pro Level hard enduro riders. Those guys set their bikes up very different than the rest of us. We sell tons of Med comp heads for every 1 low comp head. I would recommend the Med. for your 300. It will lug great without stalling. No issues.

      19 ft lbs if it's a 250/300 and 15 ft lbs if it's a 150.

      Umh you use the stock cylinder… so you use the torque spec called for in your manual for your bike, this is a kit for multiple different bikes so he told you, use what your manual says… clown 😂😂😂😂
