Figures paint up beautifully. Components are great game is a super puzzler but you feel like you are in a fight zapping and crushing foes...also really hard to beat.
This is another game I'm passing on due to quality concerns. I'm looking for reasons not to get or back games and quality is in the top 3 things I check for. Can I play this game 100 times and still say it's in "good or great" condition?
The mini's don't look great out of the box, but based on some pictures I've seen they paint up great. (also square bases aren't just very pretty, but they're there for the game mechanics, not aesthetics) The insert... that's another thing
coup de grâce. A French phrase meaning blow of mercy, that is, a final killing blow that puts a fatally wounded person out of his misery; used to mean the action or event that finally destroys or ends something.
Sad that the component quality is lacking because the art style is so faithful to the video game and I love it. Wish the miniatures were better quality cause they have great art design.
Also love the vid i just returned to your channel i have much time watching one of your videos and its good as i remember it. P.S lilith was actually made from the community so she was made from the fanbase which is really awesome
So I had another game were they had these pillars that held up tiles, they gave the backers a choice of color for them. One was that same crap brown color, they had green, and a black. I chose the black. Guess which one won, Yep it was the crap brown color.
I feel like you've been delivered an especially bad lot that had humidity issues. I didn't have these peeling problems and my minis are cleaner (not as many injections dots as i've seen on yours). But you're quite right about some other problems though, not just a bad pick : - Box cardboard is low quality : very bendy, not so durable. - so-called premium Hero trays : garbage. They don't stack, nor do they fit right correctly in the box (not to mention expansions' ones) - Hero board : nice idea, but crappy result. They never ever will lay flat, and it's a pain. They better have made "deluxe" neoprene mats right from the start. - King upgrade tray for tower cards : works nice during the game, but absolute crap for storage. Polyominoes don't fit, lid goes off, cards fly... Among other things... The storage solutions are crappy as f*. Wich is a shame cause the game itself is nice.
@@TheKingofAverage true! The rulebook had a glossary, but an index is far more comprehensive. And still doesn’t excuse the large note about having one in the scenario book. Funny, even if the scenario book had an index, how would it clearly differentiate between which book to find the term in? :P they both should have had one lol
Both the rulebook and the original boxing are terrible to the point that I skipped the second campaign on Gamefound despite it looking like it improved on the gameplay of the first by a lot. Was super hyped about the game and haven't touched it since playing through it once.
Yeah the component quality isn't great, but I do love the gameplay. My biggest grief is with the insert which looks like you missed in this review. When you put in the long board into the insert, it's almost impossible to get out because it is so snug. I actually had to cut a slot into the insert so I could get my finger undeneith. I did go all in for gamefound, looks like they have a much better insert (with the big box)
I had this problem until I stacked them in reverse. Put the 3/4 size ones on the bottom with the full length ones ontop. Then you just need to press the full length ones down on one end and you can easily pick them out.
I feel like you already "hate" the game even before the unboxing, which is kinda funny. I mean, for what I see, it's not like the game components are next level or anything so you have all the reason to be like that (with the money it cost). What a disapointment, huh? Great video nontheless, let's hope the gameplay makes up for it! P.S: if just you had unboxed this before the second game campaign...
Besides the multiple rulebooks errors (which is briefly corrected in v1.1), everything does seem very okay for me. However, the insert is horrible! They designed it mainly for shipping and not for storage of components. The tuckbox for the characters and premium tuckbox for the towers is a joke. Things gets scattered around while stored. Because of the inability of the plastic tuckbox to lock, everything will fell off if held wrongly. I have to fix all these with magnets (placed at each corners). Tons of boxes that eats up valuable shelf space (they offer gametrayz storage solution for all-in pledge, 30 dollars excluding shipping and 15 dollar credit to offset purchase on latest project ). I have to throw the initial inserts and find innovative solution to storage them. So so sad with their premium storage solution...
I pledged the German Version, from www.spiele-offensive.de/ , and then seen this unboxing. I hope they will be fixing all issues. and I went for the all in special box edition! I hope that at least the gameplay is good.
I got the version from Spieleschmiede and sadly the quality is identical. Warped boards and -I had to laugh- my cat mini also wobbles. But the gameplay seems fun. Fingers crossed you get a version with fewer flaws
@@FenrirsFangz I am getting the elements version. I do hope people will complain a lot. In the gamefound page you can post a comment without being a backer.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who noticed the quality problems. The game itself seems good (although I've only played the first scenario at this point) and I'm looking forward to painting the stuff up. I rarely go for chibi stuff, so this is definitely a change.
Nice Video😀😀 But………….., you are into board games and don‘t know what a meeple is?😂😂 Really? ……ReallyReally? Come on…….thats basic slang in the board game world!😀😀😀😀
Looks so bad quality. Especially these spiders cardboard paper... Really bad and bendy. They charge a lot. Is all paper inside. They should have lil minis like the soldiers upgrade. I dono think these boardgame worth the time and price they value for it. Bad quality
I love that you do these kind of videos. Quality of components matters a bunch to me, and no one else really examines things the way you do
4:07 Core Box
38:26 King Pledge Upgrades
42:24 3D Towers
46:18 Spider Goddess
57:10 Gerald Lightseeker vs JT
1:02:41 Vez'nan vs Moloch
Thank you!
To bad about the component quality, but this unboxing had me laughing so much. Hope your enjoying your vacation you need it after this.
Looking at the page, that page is the Index of rules found in the scenario booklet, right? It's not saying that the index is in the scenario booklet.
Alternative title: "Watch King suffer and rant for 1 hour"
Gameplay looks good but this was a wild ride lol

There is a small index on the second page of the scenario booklet on the bottem left
11:43 - I actually think this adds to the theme of playing a mobile game adaptation. like the equivalent of the App Store “includes in-app purchases”
How thematic! Lol
coup de grâce. A French phrase meaning blow of mercy, that is, a final killing blow that puts a fatally wounded person out of his misery; used to mean the action or event that finally destroys or ends something.
Lol thanks!
@@TheKingofAverage basically what you wanted to happen, when you saw that cardboard.
Lol...: “meeples? What are those? Sounds like they misspelled miniatures”. Lovely commentary as always
luckily they corrected it later :D

Your not the boss of me lol! Love ya buddy keep it up!
Lol for the index. Great video ty.
Is this final product or prototype if someone please answer so i know if the final product is better
This was the final product delivered to backers. I backed this normally with money from Patreon.
Thank you for answering my question
Oh my gosh from 44:00 to 45:00 is a JOURNEY 😂😂 @TheKingofAverage
The struggle was real!

Oh that's super cool! Welcome back sir! :)
I don't like that brown color either. Thanks for you honest opinion as always!
I think that color is burnt sienna
Burnt sienna, that sounds right

What's up rockstar ? " Coup de grâce " is the french version of deathblow (and it is prounounced like grass). Have a nice day

And also, I feel you lack knowledge of the original IP, cause all the design, layout, artworks, colours and all are well in line with it. ;)
Maybe they don’t know the difference between glossary and index? :P
The scenario booklet had neither!!!

I folded up a strip of wrapping paper. Kinda like the ribbon to help get a 9 volt battery out.
Been waiting for this one.

What's a 'meeple'? I assume that's a different way of spelling 'miniature'. :D
But is it a good game? Is it worth it?
Can't tell that in a unboxing but a review hopefully! I'm still excited to play the game actually :D
Outrageous!
❤❤❤❤❤

Ironhide game studios made the kingdom rush franchise for the video games lucky duck games made the board game variant
Instead of Kirk yelling Khan, KoA yelling INDEX.....! INDEXXXXXxxx!!!!!
