You have just made my day! I've been hunting all over for a pattern on how to do this. You have my triple vote of approval and appreciation for this video. There are a couple of other videos about this, but they weren't quite as helpful as yours.
I'm & going to have to get a Pringles tube & a used cereal box & start making these guys as gifts for my quilting friends. Thank you so much. Those of us who DIY really appreciate the time it takes to do these videos 😉👍

The Pringles was a bonus! I’m going to make some in advance and give as gifts for all my crafty friends. You spoke slower and softly which was refreshing. While I played the videoover and over again I was actually making it WITH you. I enjoyed it. I can get 12 out of a Pringles can. I’m recycling cereal boxes, Pringle cans & old fabrics! THANK YOU for sharing!!

This is cute. Being a sewer for 30 some odd years, with lots of scrap material. Made a Cow Pie with my scraps. Great idea to use these for. Thanks for sharing your video.
We made those last Xmas and filled them with goodies to give away at the quilt club. They were so well received and mine goes everywhere with me and my chicken pin holder. Both much admired. The chicken is made out of two log cabin blocks, so cute too
I love that this is mostly sewn by hand, love it when I can relax and sew on my comfy couch. Can't wait to empty my can of Pringles now. Just finished making it, I love it so much more than the triangle one I made a few years ago.

This is a great alternative to other thread catchers I've made and used. I like that this one closes up completely when finished using it and takes up less space in a travel kit. I do English Paper Piecing while travelling which generates a LOT of thread snippets. Nothing worse than those snippets all over your car and pants. It empties easily, too. Thanks for the tutorial.

Really enjoyed your video. I made one out of the pringles can but then I took one of my old plastic 4" embroidery hoops and it really works great. It is a little bigger which is great....Thanks for sharing.
That's a great idea with the embroidery hoop. Especially if you want it to use for something different than a thread catcher. Like a safe place in which to carry jewelry while traveling. Thank you for sharing.

So clever! I will make one for my granddaughter who loves to look for little "treasures" in my studio, such as beads, buttons, pieces of velvet, etc. You could make a larger one from Quaker oatmeal or a bread crumbs container. Thank you for sharing Angie!
Or a 2 litre soda bottle or embroidery hoop!
I did use the Quaker Oatmeal container for the steel cut oats. Fabric cut 13" x 11". Came out 4" diameter and 5" tall.

At each sewing machine " serger" cutting table" & if you do hand sewing in the bedroom " living room " in your car kit etc....

I have asked someone who eats pringles to save me their tube.
Also if your not great with hot glue you can use a little bit of masking or sellotape to keep the plastic inside the pringles ring. Another tip is to use a few wonder clips or pins to keep it in place while you sew the ring in. Hope that answers some of the questions I read.😊
I love this video, a newbie to sewing but I have got all my bits cut out and am ready to take it to my craft night tomorrow to do the hand sewing whilst I'm there. I know it's been 9 years since this was made but I just came across it and the instructions are clear, no babbling, easy to follow and to copy. Thank you for keeping this video up and for sharing. @Angie Padilla your welcome, I always read the comments if I have a question, before asking and there were a few, the thing is people don't watch the video properly or a communication gap in different languages, I could hear perfectly well. But on other videos when there's an accent I just flip on the subtitles if I can't hear that bit. I have got it all ready to sew , must of watched the video at least 8 times lol 😁 hope you are well and may come back to make more videos at some point. Thank you 💗
If you just use a wider strip of plastic and plastic circles, the catcher becomes washable. Thanks for doing it on TH-cam

Wow, this is really neat. I love the geometry of the finished product.
I would do it bigger and with some way to keep it attached to the machine or to the working table. And the same collapsible bag will be useful around the house for multiple uses. I love it!

Love this! I had to make one. I made 2 at the same time. One to keep and one to give. One fits just fine when twisted (giving that one) and the other not so much! (Keeping) Voice was very soft but great tutorial! Thanks for sharing.

I like it for my beads, especially any project I'm currently working with and need to take it with me on the road. Whatever, made you think of it. I usually just drop it on a cup at my sewing machine. Thanks for sharing!

Rather than cutting a can, i used the inner core of a ribbon spool! It's already thick and cut precisely. I cut the cardboard round for the base out of the top/bottom of the spool as well. 😉 recycle, re-use! ♻️

making them now. I am using a vinyl tile for my piece of plastic reinforcement. it comes as 12inch square and has the advantage of being adhesive. All you have to do is peel the paper away as you stick it to the inner circumference of your half inch ring!
