Glad you made this video. A buddy was asking how to fix his and I was able to send him a link to your video. Only issue I see is the lighting. Poor visibility. Thankfully I was able to explain what you were showing. Other than the lighting...good job.
My throw out just shredded and fused the rod, adjuster and slinger together. You're lucky to get it out with torque, wish i saw that video. I had to cut the slinger with a pneumatic grinder after many tries applying torque in different ways.
Your clutch assembly must of really gotten hot. When I torqued the down the adjuster, didnt think kit was going to work. What a pop. I thought I ruined the clutch system. Did you get your bike going?
Thanks for this!! I have a hydraulic clutch and it failed because the rod got stuck together like this. That caused the slave piston to spin inside the bore and fucked up the seals!!!! Thanks Extra so much!!
I’m about to do this job on my Shovelhead tomorrow. I’m not sure witch kit I need yet. I noticed when looking up parts their are two types. Find out when I open it.
Hi! My clutch does not fully release when warmed up. Although all adjustments of the rod and cable are respectively for minimum clearance and maximum release. In what other unit is maximum wear possible, which affects the full release of the clutch when warmed up? Because while the problem does not arise when cold...
When riding the bike did it seem like the clutch cable broke at first and this was the issue??, just had something similar happen to my 1989 softail and the clutch cable is intact however it doesn’t engage the clutch at all
I replaced my slinger bearing and still have no clutch. Clutch pack is good, just the slinger bearing desinegrated.2006harley softtail. Clutch stiff and don't ingage.
OMG!!!!! THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME BRO!!!!! THANK GOD I FOUND YOUR VIDEO! I KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW 👍 TAKE CARE AND THANK YOU.
Same gere man god bless this dude

You can put a steel bearing in between the oil slinger and the push rod
Thank you for the video this exact thing happened to me !!! Thank you for the helpful information

@@dustytales5829when you say torque it down you tightened it and broke that fuse
@@dustytales5829or you loosened it out
That was going to be my next step.

Also a good time to throw some grease on the rod ends.
Thanks for the information
Hi!

@@Ivan_Bubnov I started having issues like that where my clutch plates were ready to go out.
How did you reemove all the pieces of the throw out bearing that got pulverized?
I opened the transmission drain plug, located between the shocks on the pan. Also removed the clutch cable cover and flushed it out with WD 40.
Good shit. Thanks playboy

hi, i have the same problem on my 1990 softail, did you fix it cause, if you did what was the problem?
I had a broken adjustment screw and I noticed the rod is looking broken at the clutch side
Does it matter which direction you put the throw out bearing between the two washers?
It’s been a while but I don’t think it matters.
have same issue, mine is a 1990 fxst softail, do you know if its the same set up? did you order the three parts for 24 dollars
It’s been a while, I think that is correct
Hey what would cause my clutch to disengage periodically when I’m still holding the lever in? I’m baffled
How many mile do you have on that clutch?
the two prong release fork, what position did you put it in when you installed the cover>? was it tight to cover behind bearing>?
Scooby The clutch assembly uses a ramp release system.
my oil springer wont slide into trans to wide side to wide why?
@@billgonzales8978 the part is too wide?
@@dustytales5829 yes
my clutch rod too wide wont fit in trans grove
That’s odd. Is it the correct part for that engine?

Just fixed mine, same thing
Wow that’s bad luck on cheap parts … I’ve never had this problem with 121000km.Your adjuster nut looks a bit strip
So no adjustments in it viola perfect
There may be some Clutch sensitivity adjustments.
