How do you continue running up a wall? My hunter jumps off after just a few steps, yet I see people in videos able to exhaust their stamina climbing. I tried holding other directions, but the hunter won't change once they start running for me. Do you have to spam directions?
I wonder how they'll funnel us into the most convoluted paths, now that we have wirebugs. Or maybe it's going to be more of a race now, with the parent monster barelling down on us, like in the cinematics.

To avoid mizu's water canon or the rath fireballs while your weapon is sheathed and you have nowhere to go, wirebug up and press b to hang around while the attack finishes
You can also initiate a wall run by jumping into said wall with your Palamute with ZR, and then press B midair to jump off of the Palamute. You'll start wall running up the wall before using your first wirebug, thus giving you more mobility
ZL+ZR is great for climbing, but using X or A has value too, as the face buttons make you wirebug where your hunter is facing, while ZL+ZR goes where the reticle is pointed regardless of the hunter's direction.
While this will of course vary in preference from person to person, I've found the gyro control options to be absolutely fantastic for using the wirebug ZL + ZR method. You can set the gyro to only activate while aiming (works for both wirebug and gun-type weapons) which helps for really fast and precise aiming.
When you're hanging via a wirebug you simply use ZL+ZR to zip where you want to go too. This helps with scaling walls since doing the dodge flip off the wirebug hang uses a bit of stamina in the process.
This makes it so much easier. I've been watching your channel since I got into the series on 3DS with Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and Monster Hunter Rise has a lot of familiar mechanics but so much new and streamlined as well. They should have had you do the in-game tutorials!

You can actually get a little more distance worth of stamina when wall climbing if you move diagonally left or right as you’re close to losing stamina.
ZL+ZR seems to cover a bit less distance compared to the other imput. It's somewhat more noticeable comparing ZL+ZR with ZR+A (Even the sliding animation seems a bit different)

I'm glad the tutorial missions don't reduce the # of plays for the demo. It makes it so I can test a quick things easily or change settings and test them. Also the tutorial arzuros doesn't die and does small damage, good for playing with new weapons and practicing wirebug stuff.
I see in some of your gameplay videos that you use a wirebug to recover from a monster attack quickly. Is that just a normal wirebug movement command or a special input? Love the vids been watching since I first played MHW
Using ZR+ZL has a 8 second cooldown compared to ZR+X and ZR+A’s 6 second cooldown. So while the extra precision is nice it does come at a small cost. For flat land traversal its fastest to use ZR+X and its double jump.

Good day sir. Hope all is well. I do have a theory though. I'm sure we all noticed some of the wire bug moves can't be done yet. Possibly we could choose our own. Main reason behind this theory, after slamming the monster into the wall and aftery dismounting, there is wire big string holding the monster in place for a while. Maybe that's why we all can't do the moves shown yet. Possibly pick up to 3 move sets. Just food for thought. Happy hunting good sir.
This is super late but you can do the first method exactly the same and get up any wall with just the 2 base wire bugs no need to go out of your way for the third (maybe there was a patch but I've never had any trouble)
Took some readjusting, but having to change the controls and having Gyro on makes scaling walls and manual aim wirebug feels so satisfying. Fully ready in the full game with the controls I have memorized.
I don't even remember the last time I used ZL+X and ZL+A for wirebug traversal. Gyro aiming is the best! I can't believe I stayed away from that thing for such a long time.
The gargwa drop two types of eggs on occasion when you attack them. The standard gargwa egg and a golden variant. I had trouble returning them to the item box. If you fail a wall climb the egg cracks
Well, I hadn't really noticed the trick using barrel bombs. I can already imagine teams of 4 to create meta where they rain barrel bombs on the heads of the biggest monsters.
Only complaint is I think you shouldn't burn stamina so quickly while wall climbing. I mean we can climb infinitely anyways using the witebugs they might as well let us climb higher without them so it's not as involved. My uncle had a lot of trouble last night in figuring how to get up with me and my brother on the highest part of the map.
does the bomb reset trick work with small barrel bombs as well? I know you can throw them midair, so if they work for that trick, you get 10 free jumps. And while closer to the ground you have the added benefit of not risking blowing yourself out of the air due to a missed input.

ZL + B, you have a decent bit of leeway with it, even after you've been on the ground for a bit. It will also sheathe your weapon, allowing you to immediately heal with a potion afterwards.
I think this video should have included proper usage of the Wire Bug to recover from getting knocked on your butt, when fighting a monster. Just sayin'...
This - I'm having a little bit of trouble getting the hang of the wirebug to its max potential (particularly hitting monsters for the mount, insect glaive moves always seem to miss), but the knock down recovery is what I'm using it most for. It's particularly useful when you get pinned against a wall.
lol the first tip is wrong, you can do the wirebug hold to not waste wirebug charges, do not waste your wirebugs climbing a wall as it will slow you down. On xbox, you run up the wall then press the b button.I assume on playstation its run up release, then press circle. But wasting your wirebugs on that will waste your time since you can inevitably accidently use a charge, or end up having to sit for a few secons waiting on wirebug to recharge if you did them all.
Can someone tell me after being hit how to recover whilst using lbg I can’t find any info on this technique infact I’m not even sure lbg can do it as Iv only seen melee players doing it but after being sent flying from ibushi and being able to do nothing for about 4/5 seconds is not great
Yes and No? You do not keep anything you pick up from the demo ... but you will get a starting bonus if the full game detects demo save data. I think. ?

Yeah, it's great when you're up on some odd ledge and ran out of wirebug charges. You can still go quite a distance with just stamina alone.

I can't express how exciting egg-carrying with wirebugs is. For veterans, hearing the egg delivery stuff is getting spiced up is so sweet.
always hated those quests. there was usually some really good quest rewards but the journey was so awful

I was maybe 15 hours in before I learnt I could press R to run and scale vertically...

I dunno if it's just me but I think Evade Extender actually makes the jump at the end of the wire bug swing go out a little more!

Pretty sure you can press ZL and B when knocked by a monster to zip away and sheath your weapon ready to use potion etc.
You can also get a head start with your walk running by jumping off your palamute.

No. That has actually SPECIFICALLY been addressed by the developers. Absolutely no Armor or food skills will effect Wirebug usage at all.
