Almost there, sister! I’m in Dallas so central time 1:39…God willing, I’m asleep by 2:25 central time! May God bless you and you get a great nights sleep!
@@Logos_Life33. Yes, that’s what they say. So by that logic, I would also only deserve the novus ordo. However, we are planning a move to a city that has the TLM, and then all of a sudden I will be deserving of the TLM and shepherds like Father Jenkins. I can’t wait to change my fate! On a different note, I want to say that when I had my pacemaker implanted, my doctor prescribed 36 sessions of cardio rehab for me. I had to go to a special gym operated by our local hospital. I was sorry when I finished the 36 sessions because I felt physically strong and healthy after each one. But I certainly never dressed in any revealing manner, and neither did anyone else that went there. In addition, 95% of folks who are prescribed cardio rehab, are over 55 (this happened 3 years ago when I was 67) and none of us are in shape to challenge custody of the eyes! However, what Father says about most gyms is absolutely true.
The comments on staying away from gyms is much appreciated! Everything there is an obstacle to recollection and an occasion of sin for MOST. Plant and cultivate a backyard garden and take a vigorous walk if you need exercise. Bravo dear Fr. Jenkins for being honest. Everyone, please pray 3 Hail Marys for him. He is a gift to us all.
If indeed one has a backyard. And at least where I live, in taking a walk or bike ride I see many people in similar states of undress out in public as in the gym. Disgracefully, it's the world we live in, but we don't have to follow suit. One can be in the world but not of it.
Thank you Father on the statement about females publicly working out. I used to do Pilates at a local gym and the movements always made me feel like I was behaving in an indecent manner and have decided to stop attending these classes.
cody-work, look up 1930 Letter of the Congregation of the Council under Pope Pius XI. There are some strong words on public modesty, which would include what Father talks about here.
He is in dangerous position. He is a Heretic and Apostate of the False religion. He's under Satan. He needs an EXORCIST. Are there any Holy Bishops to cast the devils out of him? 1/3 of the churchmen are being possessed and that why the world and the church will be chastised severely. God will shake up to the foundation no one will be able to escape from it.
What’s meant by work out? I go to exercise at the senior center. It’s about 90% female, 10% male. We do stretching, isometric, weight bearing, cardio. Everyone does according to his/her ability. I guarantee NOBODY has anything to show off! Gold’s Gym, it ain’t!
Marie Katherine, good for you! I am a senior as well, and go to work out at my local mom & pop gym. Sure there are some who treat the gym as a meat market, but no one is required to play that game. Loose-fitting clothing that covers all the anatomy that shouldn't be exposed in public is more comfortable to work out in than all that spandex and tight elastic anyway, not to mention cooler in our hot-summer climate. A big reason I picked this gym was the beautiful outdoor swimming pool, as I grew up semi-aquatic and have been so all my life. I wear boardies and a tankini top in the water - no exposed midriff or cleavage - and a cover-up on deck. Reasonable modesty doesn't have to mean a burqa. I'm sure there are those who believe that at my age my station in life means being ensconced in a comfy chair, terrified of falling on the way to the bathroom to swallow my daily list as long as my arm of prescription medications, but thanks to the grace of God, genetics and my good habits (including exercise in a friendly environment) I fail to fit that description.
Pope Pius XII should not have permitted discussion on theistic evolution of the body. It doesn't matter what one church Father (St. Augustine ) speculated on this because ultimately the Magisterium decides. "God...creator of all visible and invisible things, of the spiritual and of the corporal; who by His own omnipotence power at once from the beginning of time created each creature from nothing, spiritual and corporal, namely, angelic and mundane, and finally the human, both of the spirit and the body." (Lateran Council IV, 1215) "All that exists outside God was, in its whole substance, produced out of nothing by God." (De fidei) (Vatican Council, 1870)

Father, I go to our community swimming pool to exercise for health reasons. I wear a dress below my knee. Also I wear a top to cover my chest but it is sleeless. Is that inmodest?
I thought that the Church settled this opinion on evolution through the writings of Cardinal Wiseman's Twelve Lectures on The Connection Between Science and Revealed Religion Delivered in Rome Published in 1852. I have a copy of his book, fourth edition, on those Lectures, which was Discarded and needs rebinding desperately but is a very good illustration of the Churches teaching on that subject.
Maybe.. people want to be noticed at the gym because they are single, and the church has done nothing to support singles. It's better to meet someone at a gym than at a bar! Then Fr. Jenkins goes on to deride gym equipment. Admits that he doesn't exercise. Doesn't mention that it's an opportunity to practicing self control and custody of the eyes. It's what is in the heart that defiles a man, not what goes into them. Not to forget that Christ was crucified naked.
Go to dance also could be an opportunity to practice self control. It is obvious that gym clothes, these body movements are against the purity. Can you imagine saints going gym? Jacinta Marto or Bernardette Soubirou? It is easy to understand if we are honest

Our Lady of Fatima told Jacinta that many people go to hell because of sins of the flesh. We call our priests father because in matters of faith and morals, we are to obey their council and admonitions if we want to save our souls. Their authority comes from God. Avoiding the near occasions of sin, dressing modestly, keeping custody of the eyes are preached from the pulpit and absolved in confession with the admonition to sin no more , and a penance imposed.
It's not an opinion but a teaching. Pope Pius XI gave a prescription for modesty in dress, and in the Catechism it says to stay away from near occasions of sin. If you want to exercise you actually don't need a Gym. Buy some weights at a thrift store, or garage sale, and take up brisk walking or jogging, or calisthenics.

I heard you can't be sleeveless but can wear a quarter lengths sleeve. It must not show part of your breast which sleeveless can do.
This is sounding like a conversation mooselams would have. Others should take custody over their own eyes/minds.
