Why are so many traditional Catholics, anti-**mites? Hating, despising, feeling free to mock? What if those they disdain turn out to be among those who God gives grace? If not those persons, perhaps their descendants will be great Saints? That is not to say we condone sin in them anymore than we condone sin in everyone else, but how is it many traditionals neither know the Scriptures and the Church’s teaching on them, nor put into practice that which is taught? I’ve encountered Catholics whose attitudes and conduct resembles that of Luther in his horrid treatise, “Table Talk” instead of St. Paul in Scripture. Is this not to our shame? What will be God’s verdict of such persons at their Judgments?

Our youngest is 9 and still truly struggles sitting and concentrating at Mass. But recently i was delayed and so he rose to the occasion and as i wasn't there he followed his mass book to follow the Latin Mass accroding to picture and words. So when i came in, he could let me know where we were up too. He said he would do his best now to follow along, and even so, he fidgeted and asked me questions throughout Mass. Even so, this is his sincere approach to learning, understanding, and remaining focused during Mass as his very verbal child. He speaks as he plays and thinks. So rather than harshly disciplining him as his Father would pinch him, I give him a hug and listen and respond quietly. If he insists on complaining about being hungry or what time left, i will say he needs to remain quiet or pray now to battle those demons of distraction. We discuss this more outside of Mass because its a process of maturity and learning, and each child is different. Our daughter was andbis always quiet and still and acted well in Mass, but now, as an adult, she reveals how she rejects our religion and refuses to go to Mass because she doesn't believe it. So an interested child is an honest child. Our other son was mildly deaf for most of his childhood and has ADHD and so was a challenge to keep focused during church and school and life, but his faith remains despite his challenges. Now, as a man, his maturity allows him to focus and follow the Mass fine now.

Demons easily use them around us, including our children. Dont entertain them durjng Mass rather let them inderstand beforehand when they are more receptive the importance of watching and listening so they may learn what its all about because a visit to Gods house is an essential education parents must teach their children. Do it charitably. Love them. Depend on the age of the children, of course, and the childs disposition.

The discussion regarding the question of the Scripture is precisely why we need Holy Mother Church to interpret the scriptures. A principle not recognized by Protestants and the reason for their many and various heresies.
