People have almost normalised this kind of vile behaviour from men because it's "only online" so they don't take it as seriously as if it happened to a woman/girl in real life. Sad sign of the times.

I definitely agree with her on what she said towards the end. The men vs woman argument is so detrimental as it causes the sexes to be segregated and distrustful. Both need to be involved in the conversation, mediate the differences and look for actual solutions together.
Else it turns into damaging echo chambers

Please note, it isn't going to be ok. This is sexual assault, and the trauma experienced stays with you always. It effects ones ability to trust,, to feel safe in their everyday existence. Young girls, women are being sent sexual images and acts which they have not consented to.. Telling a woman that she will get through it, she shouldn't have to. Why does she? And for many women and young girls...they don't get through it. It is violence, and it should not be tolerated, laughed off as a joke, or boys just being boys. This is violence, it is an assault and it should be illegal.

People’s behaviors need to bring in an awareness system through social media

  • @ColonelStraker

Absolutely brilliant. God bless your efforts, Emily. It's about RESPECT and, sadly, many boys are raised without learning how to treat a woman. It starts in one's home, as a younger man. Godspeed on your efforts to raise awareness and make a difference. Social Media permits this behavior, as there already is sufficient technology to detect and dismiss such photos from one's inbox.

New Laws are not required. Just enforce the ones contained in existing Telecommunications Acts. Where it's illegal to send/have a conversation of anything of an offensive/lewd nature by Telephonic communication. Men stop being pricks by sending 'dic pics'.

Unfortunately most man behave so unconscious and insensitive! I am sure most of them could learn to respect others and them selfs but they lost touch with who they are or could be! I my self experienced this behavior and talk from friends for a very long time and didn’t like it. I distanced my self from disrespectful behavior towards women! I am lucky for wanting to grow as a person and I met a beautiful goddess a few years ago! We should all respect and protect each other and especially women from aggressive men! I can’t even imagine what women go thru every day getting treated like this! She should be seen as a Human first and treated respectfully and also like a goddess from the partner she deserves! ❤️🙏

Disgusting that this should happen. Unfortunately, we live in a highly sexualised world and this is not getting any better so I think this will continue to happen. This not a fight women against men or even men against women (as the converse happens to men online). It is a fight of human morality. We have in the last 50 years, gradually dismissed the notion of a shared or collective morality which unites us against a common enemy. In doing so we have given birth to factional morality where one people group seeks to demonise the other. This is not only harmful to those groups as a form of perpetual stalemate, it will ultimately result in the break down of society. Perhaps not in my lifetime but in the ones to come.

I really don't know if men know how traumatizing it is to be assaulted this way, I have walked through parks and been flashed, on-line...I mean it's not a good feeling and I actually throw up because for some reasons men will find your safe spaces with other women where you talk about being celibate and that's almost like a green light to send you pictures because apparently that's the one that can get me out of four years celibacy.

I watched the programme ‘Asking for it?’ knowing that, at long last, people are being woken up to realise that it is a massive issue.
I felt it was ground breaking, Emily’s openness, her journey up to this point and the way forward she came to see as the most effective.
I wish you all the best on your future journey, Emily. You have given lots of women and girls strength and a vision - I am sure a lot of men also.

Jeez, Does she think that she is so special, that she is the only woman who gets this nasty abuse ?, Wrong, thousands of women get the same nasty treatment, but they are strong & confident, & dont give the abuser the attention that they crave, only weak attention seeking women make an issue about it, something tells me that Attack is going to be "milking this for years, i mean the documentary was over a year ago, & she is still going on about it, i think that this is the ONLY way that she can get any attention, its going to define her, whether she like,s it or not.

I've gotten unsolicited breast and vagina pics. I don't feel threatened or unsafe. Can we start to deal with a double standard as well. If a man is with a friend in a hotel room bed, drunk after a party and starts to push his penis into her back and ask for intercourse he isn't just being a creep in the moment, after her first refusal he enters a world where he could be charged with assault. But, if in reverse, speaking from experience a woman reaches under the covers for my privates and aggressively demands intercourse, maybe even tries to sit on a man's face then no matter his desires the woman is just seen as being a bit 'thirsty' nit enough grounds for any assault charge to be laid.

@@kimberleycurrie3156 i readily acknowledge there is a greater danger faced by women, however I still contend that there is either a danger of overpolicing simply creepy or cringey behaviour as opposed to actual behaviour that hinges on assault or there needs to be a look at the double standards that sees the exact same behaviour on the part of women classed as simply thirsty or unwanted but on the part of men classed as assault or behaviour in need of legal intervention
