After 300+ hours poured into both games, time to finally learn to park the trailer properly instead of choosing to park the easiest way. Can't wait to try it out!
I actually did my class 1 HGV training last year and playing ets2 helped somewhat it's a bit different driving a truck with a controller compared to doing it for real though 😂 I did eventually pass my test on the 3rd attempt lol
Ive been playing ETS and GTS since 2012 and I fulfilled my dream of making the truck driving licence in 2022 by doing my CE license with a Turntable trailer combo, I felt so secure because I totally knew from ETS how the trailer behaves and my driver's license test auditor even mentioned how good I completed the task to back up a turntable trailer arround the corner, I felt like this game prepared me so well for this and I am glad you just made the perfect basic for the next generation to learn how to drive a truck before joining the driving school!
You should definitely add the 'dangerous missions' from Scania truck driving simulator if this is possible. As a final advanced course. Those were epic, especially the one with all the shipping containers.
A replay function in the general game would allow us content creators making better videos. I would be happy to see this function implemented generally, if it isn't already there. 🙂
@@scandited2763 More like a recording of an entire trip for example. Without a time limit. The player can activate the recording and end it whenever he wants and later replay it. The recording would not be a video, but instead an interactive playback feature (like the one that has been introduced in this video), where the creator can fully concentrate on changing and moving the camera around the truck while the playback of his recorded driving runs in the background, without being worried leaving the road or crashing into another car because he is more focused on playing around with the camera for a good video. This would allow recording videos of gameplays with other software, which are not limited to a view from the interior of a truck cabin or somewhat weaky outside cameras, while the driver struggles to keep his truck on the lane, because the camera looks back or to the side and the player doesn't see what is infront of him. There are some games, which have a similar playback feature. For example Ready or Not or some sim racing games.
I think it'd be cool if completing all of the challenges gave you some sort of certificate allowing you to do more dangerous or challenging jobs in career mode. Kinda like special transport but you'd have to earn the certificate first. Or maybe you'd be able to earn a certificate for each type of challenging job such as a certificate for double/triple trailers, heavy cargo, special transport, etc.
I really appreciate SCS not sitting back and resting off your past success. You guys are always finding ways to improve on the games, as well listening to your customers. I truly enjoy the simulation and with that you have a supporter for life. God bless.
I remember "Trucks and Trailers", a game like ETS but about teaching you how to park only. Very good memories from it. I've bouht it with physical version and even got dedicated cap. Good old days.
Outstanding work guys, as always. If I can give some advice, I would add a bonus EXP and money for those who complete the driving license exams, so that even people with more experience in the game are encouraged to do it. Thank you for the incredible support you continually give to the titles!
This is a really good development. Something that I've always wanted that's tangential to this is the ability to test truck and trailer configurations on some kind of set course so we can determine what modules we want to use for the truck, such as transmission, axle config, and so on. To that end, more technical information for each module would be really useful as well.
Hi Team SCS, it's great what you do for us and it's very valuable. Huge respect for you! Please concentrate on the sound of the engines of all the vehicles, as well as all the necessary effects! You already own licenses for them and we think it won't be a problem for you.
This is cool. I'd really like to see the integration of log books or e-logs, having to take breaks on the road like real trucks. Also the ability for your truck to get dirty and having to wash it would be cool. Also having to do a pre-trip after you sleep. Maybe have a check list of stuff you have to do
One of my favourite games from years ago was 18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker on Dreamcast.... The parking challenges were so fun. Please can we have more parking challenges in the academy!!!
Thank you very much scs, for everything you give us, but in my opinion we need to interact a little more with the world, more pedestrians who are not just seen, who are stopped by the police for inspection,In some other things, like the light in the cabin, which we have been waiting for for years, thank you very much.
I am loving this feature so far! Just got in to ETS 2 a week ago and this is exactly what I was missing as a beginner. So helpful! Love it love it love it. Looking forward to completing it and for future additions!! Thank you!
The quality of these training exercises is extremely well done. The explanations are really good. The only thing I would say is the placement/size of the UI can get in the way of your mirrors. Also restarting a exercise can be a little annoying having to skip the demonstration each time. This is a great addition to ETS2
Awesome! I have a suggestion that you later add in addition to the options of the same tasks and skills with all the different types of trailers that exist, the option to be able to get out of the truck and walk around to check the position of the truck, although there are various camera angles, but this free movement seems more realistic. All the best👍
I think it's a great thing especially for newcomers but also for people like me who can drive and do a little reverse stuff but struggling when it comes to back up over the right mirror and do some turns within around some tight corners and stuff like that.
This is a great addition to the game, I've been struggling with reverse parking until I gave up, I think the academy will help. After final exam, we can get a license which we can use in the main game. It can accumulate points from fines such as red light, collision, speeding, etc. The license can be blocked when you accumulate too many points requiring you to pay to unlock the license or retake part of the tests in the academy. The license can also be used in checkpoints and weigh stations which can feel a bit repetitive with constant long-hauls.

Can you guys add a role-playing element to the games ? Like buying a house somewhere in the wild or in the outskirts of towns/cities, having a spouse, kids, bringing them gifts from your travels, having an upkeep cost for the property, and for your garages, being able to hire staff for the garages, accountants, trucking brokers that can find better deals for you and your employees. They should include that if you crash the truck you get abuse, another would be to include mosquitoes or stone hits on the windshield, flat tires, fire in the trailer, emergency issues that make the simulator more dynamic since it has become monotonous.
This new content reminds me of your past Truck & Trailer and Scania Truck Driving Simulators, and the content is very similar. Honestly, the game tutorials so far were not enough for new players to learn everything about trailer skills. It was sad to see that many players who played for hundreds of hours still had poor trailer parking skills or did not understand trailer movements. Many players from many countries know that there are cases where people actually got trailer licenses or got jobs as truck drivers through ETS2. I believe that this update will be a great help in training future truck drivers! After watching many scenarios in the video, I am ashamed of how sloppy and simple the truck licenses are in my country. :(
I hope one day we can get out of the truck and walk around and do stuff. like connect the cables from the truck too the trailler and the Trailer Support leg and stuff like that.
With more than 2k hours on both games I think I know how to reverse with a trailer (or more) but for those who play for the first time, and maybe don't even have a driving licence for cars IRL, I think it's a good update
