Since the UED was defeated, they decided to band stick together as mercernaries to the highest bidder thanks to their more advanced goliaths. Whereas the siege breakers are ex-confederates who still use the old Arclite tanks which are heavily modified to surpass the newer Crucio tanks.

Most if not all the humor was based on 80s and early 90s movie trivia. It's all Aliens, Terminator, Robocop, Predator, Dune, Star Trek and other popular sci-fi humor. Really cool.
Starcraft 2 definitely missed out on having regular unit narration... There was a few times when regular units would have unique dialogue, but it mostly the enemies.

@@augustday9483 So many people jump to conclusion so fast about this. Developers dont push for ESRB ratings. The thing is a 3d modell is much harder to deal with than a 2d modells. For a 2d modell you can replace a dead unit frame by frame with any picture. So you can go for more gore without any performance issue. Your work is much harder with 3d modells. More work means more money or/and time and consumers (you) start whining. In an rts no NEED more colors becouse of visual cues.

So if they could make convincing gritty visuals with SC1's cgi models from the mid 90s, surely SC2's models from 10+ years later could have achieved a similar affect. The theory is that marines are given a download of knowledge that's why they all get trained so quickly. Apparently this doesn't include computer training lol
This was (and is) such an effective way of training new "recruits" on how to play the game. It's intuitive and fun. You learn by doing. Blizzard was in its golden age back then.

On battle(.)net you can get the original starcraft (and broodwar) for free. The remaster costs money but the normal game is completely free
