@@michaelsimkins7078 Well, judging from some fan feedback I read, people like Alarak not necessarily because he's an asshole (and certainly not because they themselves are assholes). It's not a good idea to assume that all people who like Alarak are assholes, that makes you little better than these so-called "assholes." Look at Lowko, a fairly big Starcraft caster - Alarak is his favorite Protoss character, but that doesn't make Lowko an asshole - in fact, Lowko goes out of his way to be the opposite. Again, you shouldn't make those assumptions. Anyhow, to answer your question about why people like Alarak, it's because they think it's nice he adds some variety to the otherwise fairly-uniform (and quite possibly bland) Protoss - a sort of foil to the knight-in-shining-armor (literally, I guess) Templar like Artanis. It's nice that some people like that weird multiplayer mod(e) for my singleplayer strategy game, but as far as I'm concerned, the "real" game is the story campaign and singleplayer maps.
So Duran was just trying to keep the dream alive. First he tried teaming up with the UED to get an overmind back and working again and then realizes that's dumb so he teams up with kerrigan to get her in charge. By doing so, later he becomes Narud and locates all these artifacts and gets the Terrans to use it on kerrigan, thereby eliminating all Zerg hierarchy and uses the gathered power to awaken his boss Amon. I guess in HotS he's trying to help build a new body for his sugar daddy to use.
I played the first game in 1999, and last Sunday finished playing Legacy of the Void (again) after replaying all the games since last August. My favorite science fiction saga of all time.
I think making Kerrigan into a yellow angel was weird af. Blizzard pushed it too far. Also, one of the StarCraft 2 chapters was rather a love story, I think the Heart of the Swarm? They should have named it The Zerg And The Restless (you know, the Young and the Restless series?). I agree with Keriigan being a Zel Naga descendent and she becoming a god would be no problem, but why a yellow angel?
Well, maybe Kerrigan needs experience to learn what she is capable of. Just like how she could learn skills during the Heart of the Storm campaign, like the Apocalypse ability. Kerrigan doesn't get Apocalypse from the start, even though she is the Queen of Blades, the capo di tutti capi of the Zergs. Maybe in like 100 years she will be able to learn how to destroy a whole planet in 3 seconds and such. Though what bothered me was the "yellow angel"... as in... the graphics. Not the fact that she became a God, but just the visual. I would have prefer if she would become something like a spider-centaur, having a huge spider lower body, and from the belly button upwards she would be human with like 4 tits and four arms or what not. That yellow angel was too simple and seemed to me like if it was drawn by a 6 year old.
I assume her graphics was just how raynor saw her in the end. As he accepted the fact that he isn't able to reverse her actual form so he needs to...idk how to say...see her from another perspective. Yet the angel representation helped him to do so. Also don't forget that's how she was able to let him ascend as well, since after the epilogue, we got told that raynor disappeared out of sudden without being seen anywhere and didn't even caught leaving after we saw Kerrigan visiting him. We where able to see that he accepted the things, where able to went through all this even emotionally and got to the point to cut all this. To me it actually got a very deep ending.

Turns out this is just wrong information. Tychus was created for the SC2 announcement trailer. Period. Also, the big bad's name is Amon. Why is that so hard? It's just two simple syllables.
We hold on to our memories of the 90s, because everyone hadn't lost their mind at that point. You could still enjoy things without idiots screaming how its: racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, fuckdogphobic, ECT. It was a pretty good time. Well, for me anyways.
Nice video. Is it just me or did SC and BW have a better plot than SC2 which just seemed to kindof meander. I felt like BW left off on a good cliff hanger with the bonus mission where you find out what Duran was up to but in SC2 seems like they kinda blew what could have been an interesting starting point on Jim Ryanor's bs collection errand missions.
You forgot to mention that the evil god is named Amon and that Kerrigan got her got powers by absorbing a Xel'Naga name Ouranos who, plot twist, is actually Tassadar.
A few years back I watched a movie of all StarCraft's cutscenes. I didn't get very far into it 'cause it seriously looked like a Starship Troopers ripoff (mainly the military enlistment and shootin' aliens videos I think). Not even 5 minutes into this video and I'm happy to note that I was, in fact, wrong about that.
Probably impossible to get a starcraft one manual now; but that thing was a book; really great. I thought about getting a death's head legion tattoo, didn't though ;)
It's a feature of the remastered version of Starcraft. I didn't even know about it myself until I made this video: I accidentally brushed against my scroll wheel and it just zoomed in like it was a 3D game.
The one in the video is the standard old version. Unless you can chose in the StarCraft Remastered game which one to play, the remastered edition or the old edition.
in Starcraft 3 for sure, Sarah and Jimmy have a baby, which because of Zerg DNA grows very fast, and becomes the ultimate enemy of all galaxy, and all 3 races have to fight together to beat this child.
Can someone explain how the Zerg continued to operate after the Overmind was destroyed? Did one of the Zerg evolve into a new Overmind? Or is it unkillable just like cerebrates?
What point in time are we talking about here? After the events of the first game, there were still cerebrates present that controlled the Zerg. Some of these cerebrates then merged into a new Overmind, which was then taken over by the UED. When the Second Overmind was destroyed, Kerrigan controlled the Zerg, since she was given that capability when she was infested. She also made Broodmothers sometime either before or during the events of Wings of Liberty, so they could control the Zerg until she returned to them.

Turns out this is just wrong information. Tychus was created for the SC2 announcement trailer. Period.
Also, the big bad's name is Amon. Why is that so hard? It's just two simple syllables.
Good point about PlanetSide 2. That was a fun tidbit
Wait, sundrop got retconned as terrazine?
From what I remember from the books, it was MUCH more addictive that what's shown in the games
My goodness this is so accurate.
We hold on to our memories of the 90s, because everyone hadn't lost their mind at that point. You could still enjoy things without idiots screaming how its: racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, fuckdogphobic, ECT. It was a pretty good time. Well, for me anyways.
What StarCraft 1 maps is Tychus Findlay in?
Liked it the instant the Carbot Animations song came on at 12:14
Omg such a great job! Thank you!!!
Wait, where did you get those "skins" of the characters????
i'm just so sad to this day that raynor is the ultimate forever alone guy
I got so WOKE just from watching this.
WOKE
I can't find anything on Tychus being on SC 1
A few years back I watched a movie of all StarCraft's cutscenes. I didn't get very far into it 'cause it seriously looked like a Starship Troopers ripoff (mainly the military enlistment and shootin' aliens videos I think). Not even 5 minutes into this video and I'm happy to note that I was, in fact, wrong about that.
lol the Starcraft 2 cutscenes are the cheesiest thing I’ve ever seen
There was another StarCraft book, I don't remember the name but it was basically Raynor stranded on Char. It was pretty good actually.
That bait picture though..
Boobs
That book was actually really good
Zeratool: Mr Artanis, I don't feel so good
*dusts away*
"And some bad boy protoss that use lots of drugs" lmao
Hell... it's about time.
u failed to mention alarak. the other protoss faction taldarim.
Probably impossible to get a starcraft one manual now; but that thing was a book; really great. I thought about getting a death's head legion tattoo, didn't though ;)
Also, Hey! I loved the Battlecruiser Mission!
Starcraft 1 isnlike Game of Thrones
Starcraft 2 is like Harry Potter
I thought this would be a video on the _development_ of the game, as opposed to an overview of its storyline. "Eh"... still worth an upvote.
00:14 was it too difficult to find the actual Starcraft 1 logo and not the Broodwar one that came out years later?
One year later.
forgot to make notice of the unauthorized expansion, the name of which escapes me at the moment
Missions in StarCraft 1 about Tychus? Is that for real? Where can I find these?
Check the bonus missions released by blizz
Pretty good vid. Felt like a lot longer than 15 min though, but I didn't mind.
That's because your attention span has been greatly reduced. hah
0:27 your game was zoomed in. I need to know how you did that. I can pay.
It's a feature of the remastered version of Starcraft. I didn't even know about it myself until I made this video: I accidentally brushed against my scroll wheel and it just zoomed in like it was a 3D game.
The one in the video is the standard old version. Unless you can chose in the StarCraft Remastered game which one to play, the remastered edition or the old edition.
yeah if you go into the options on the remastered version you can play with classic graphics but it still lets you zoom in.
Awesome!
I love that you used remastered footage!
in Starcraft 3 for sure, Sarah and Jimmy have a baby, which because of Zerg DNA grows very fast, and becomes the ultimate enemy of all galaxy, and all 3 races have to fight together to beat this child.
Is Duran Dr. Narud or not?
Yes.
youve saved me oodles of time, thank ya
