I have an 82 and I fixed the Stator electrical problem by soldering the wires and removing the connector. Goldwingdocs will have all the information you need.
I have a 1 owner 1983 Interstate 1100, You're bike is definitely the best looking 83 wing I have ever seen, I'm still happy to take 2ed place with my Black 83 Interstate ❤
picking up one sunday as a parts bike. it is complete even with title. considering fixing it up instead. just needs a water pump the owner tells me, plus a massive cleaning. beautiful bike.
I have a custom painted 82. It's red with all the chrome blacked out, all emblems removed. Custom painted valve covers and and timing belt cover, custom tail light, all the extra rear end lights removed. People don't know what it is unless they know the sideways firing 4-cyl 1100 engine. I'll have to make a video of it on my channel soon but I hardly ever post stuff on youtube. Mine has the analog gauges, no radio or cb, no speakers. It's just a cool looking bike that's fun to ride. I am going to put bluetooth in my helmet to link to my phone and be able to talk to others in the group so I don't need the CB or speakers. I also have a 91 GMC stepside all de-badged, custom painted dark gray, limo tint, 454 SS mirrors, black wheels, roll pan, sound system, etc.
I’m hooked on your style my brother!,, I’ll be looking to see more of your Aspie and your other gifts the good Lord, obviously feels you’re deserving! Gil 73yrs in Los.Angeles, Ca.
I had to read your comment twice to see you was talking about me. I honored 🎖 to hear this. Just a country boy that love doing what I do and understand that God has blessed me to do it. Thanks for viewing my channel and hope you find other things on it you enjoy. Thanks for the nice comment I'm inspired
i just finished a 3/4 restore on an 83. looks similar but not as nice as yours. I believe mine was originally a standard tour pack. radio only. analogue instruments. Some time during its 40 years someone outfitted it with the Drag Specialties dress kits. the rear fill in bumper, side fill ins line you have. and other bits. I'm still trying to get it to quite down over bumps. the banging and faring shudder is not normal. but I cant see where is loose or broken. They are a really good handling bike after you spend a few hours on the road and learning how they respond. not to what i was used to. alien at first but now I really dig it ....lots of grunt and cruising at speed limits is very comfortable. quite possible the most comfortable and I have over 40 years on bikes. 2022 is my first time with a Goldwing. and its old enough to qualify for antique plates if i intended to restrict usage. umm no thanks am good with vintage and the ability to daily drive. I admit, I didn't think as a younger rider they could appeal to anyone but a retired couple touring the country. the 1989 and up maybe so because that the start of the 1500s, and man that is a big bike. The biggest Goldwing I think of all. Even bigger physically than the 1800s of 2001 and up. and as much as i like the 1500 and 1800, the stopped looking like a classic motorcycle. even the 1200s were begging to get body panels that covered more of the machine beneath. great video, I'm late to the party but i enjoyed your story very much. can you update me on your 83 and you? have you logged miles and enjoyed that classic on the free road? Thanks for sharing your experience.
Don't be mad with me but as of now I've only rode it around the neighborhood. Being to busy to do anything that requires any work. Shame on me right? The bike sits covered up underneath a shed. Maybe one morning I will wake up and start enjoying it. It's nice hearing about your adventures with yours and one day I will write mine. Thanks again for your support of my channel and new content coming soon. Thanks
Do you still have the 1983 Goldwing ? Beautiful Bike Bro, I bought a Black 83 Interstate, One owner with the AM/FM radio, intercom system & Cassette player, Only mine has 101000 miles on it, And it's as perfect as your Aspencade and runs beautifully, Your bike will run forever.
that bike is good for 300k miles then you may need to switch to 15/30 diesel oil to quiet it up. they are bullet proof. you don't see many hogs from 1983 still running. none looking like that deluxe machine there. tbh I don't dislike any bike. if it runs and stops without costing a whole lot I'm on it.
She too damn clean or too damn pretty and got all the accessories with her to be in budget. No sir I’ve been looking for one like that. I haven’t seen one under 8K here in Jersey.
That bike looks amazing, I’m wanting to tour on a budget now. Love it
Thanks for sharing such a beautiful example and your thoughts on your GW.
