Probably one of the small crowd who had an 86 previously and now have a Challenger SRT 6 Speed. Car is such a riot and crowd pleaser. Fits in wherever you go, everyone likes it. (except mustang owners... lol)
Cheers! Currently it’s out of action with rod knock. I’ve got a young family now and fixing it isn’t a huge priority, but we do have some unfinished business with this car!
Mate that thing is amazing, looking at getting an SRT8 model myself and chucking on a few mods and making it a daily, would love to manual swap it aswell making it number 2 down under to do so, probably number 1 for the srt8, hopefully one day we might meet at the track and see which land yacht can win, would like to know abit about that manual swap if possible such as how bloody hard was it to do, and do you think it would still be alright with all the interior kept. love the work mate i want to see more of this 'thing', she needs a gnarly name if she hasnt got one already
Cheers for the kind words mate! The manual swap itself wasn’t too bad, basically just a matter of getting the driveshaft shortened, banging at the tunnel with a hammer and bolting it up. the biggest problem was definitely with the steering. The Challenger’s starter motor bolts straight up into the way of the standard rack so we ended up completely redesigning the column around it. There may be other ways around this, you might even be able to get a RHD challenger steering column from a company that does conversions which should make it much easier. Definitely could keep the interior too, probably just need to cut the trim in a few places. You’ll need to flash tune it after the conversion too because the standard ECU gets very confused when you put a manual box in. Always keen to meet up with anyone at the track and put the big beast to the test mate. :) As for a name, we’ve tried a few but nothing’s really stuck. The commentators at this hill climb were callin it “the mafia staff car” all weekend which we thought was hilarious. We’ve got some more big stuff in the works with a big event for us in late April which will be the focus of my next video. One of these mods may even give the car a new nick name, but we’ll see about that.
Yep it’s a pre eagle motor mate, she’s a 2005. If we ever win the lottery maybe we could take it over there and find out if it’s an SRT8 killer hahahaha
100% agree. On this course I believe our chassis would be 2-3 seconds faster with AWD. Being quite heavy and RWD loses us a lot of time both at the start, and leaving the low speed “bus stop” chicane. It’s something we’ve thought about at length, with the easiest solution being the driveline of a late model, 8 speed SRT8 jeep. Just not something we’ve committed to as of yet
@@b3stfilms241 it’s definitely got all the top end that it needs, and runs similar power as the fastest cars at the event. The extra traction would make a huge difference in acceleration and change the car completely. It’s actually 5.7 based, with forged internals, the pro charger, etc, etc.
Damn if only Chrysler sold them with manual transmissions. they wouldn’t have to suffer the weak , and crapy automatic transmissions they use. It would have greatly increased the value of their cars by now.
Hayden's Cars yeah, I miss my 300. Fortunately it never had to see the day it’s tranny blew. Unfortunately it was written off by a deer. So now I call the deer John. Just so I can say I have a grudge with John deer

Awesome car!! I think you done good!! Great video.
Awesome video!
Thank you!
Great unit. Great drive.
Awesome video sir! Hope you are getting the views in somewhere, the car looks and sounds great, can't wait to put a standard in my own!
06.03. 2024 found this video, man that so cool you changed the gear box to manual😮 how is this car right now?
Cheers! Currently it’s out of action with rod knock. I’ve got a young family now and fixing it isn’t a huge priority, but we do have some unfinished business with this car!
Very impressive
Amazing video! How did you mount srt8 calipers and brakes with stock 18' wheels?
Not to sure if u have to do any suspension modification on this gen but on the late body styles u have to change the spindles

Thats bad ass here in America you'd be an Srt killer that 5.7 is awesome yours is the Pre eagle 5.7?

@@ThePitWalk you said it dropped a valve seat due to it running lean?
Should try the awd? I feel like it'd be faster on acceleration no slipping, added weight but definitely better grip

@@ThePitWalk true, just watching the footage it seems like you need a lot more acceleration rather then speed
It's a 6.1 right?

neat car, cannot understand the bloke narrating the video.
I suppose I should apologise for my rather strong Australian accent haha

Zulfburht all cars should have a manual option mate! Makes them a whole lot more fun
