Not sure who would even give this person who is incredibly generous with her broad knowledge of orchids a thumbs down!? Seriously!? Thank you for teaching me how to keep my orchids healthy you are awesome!!
I'm ashamed of the number of Vandas that I've murdered (and the hundreds of dollars I've spent on them!) but after watching your video, I'm going to get a new healthy one and start over using your advice. Thank you! I have a 3 inch baby Vanda right now growing in a handmade wooden box that is in mostly shade (it's very hot and humid where I live, 90° F every day for almost a month now, and will be until at least September) so she gets sprayed gently every day. Thank you for your amazing videos!
I'm so thankful I got into the orchid hobby at such a young age. I thank my 5 year old me for purchasing vada seedlings😁 TANK YOU FOR THE CARE VIDEO !!! You explained everything in needed to know about growing orchids! I thought my vanda was a phal seedling but it turns out it was a fat seedling 😂SILLY ME!!?? Also , a pun : the other day I broke a leaf of my renanthera. I guess that is an act of VANDA-lism.( I don't actually own a renanthera)
I recently got a Vanda that for some reason sprouted roots from almost every single section of the stem up to 2-3 leaves right under the crown, it's funny because it gives him the appearance of an octopus or some kind of tentacled monster, but that's another thing I like about Vanda, the appearance id very wild and unique.
Hello Danni, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with the rest of the orchid lovers. I got my first Vanda this summer and it has been blooming ever since (for over ten weeks). I hope it rather means that it is happy rather than traumatize? If you could help me and shed some knowledge on how to fertilize Vandas? I water my Vanda by letting it sit in water for 10-15 minutes every two days. When I want to fertilize Vanda, should I just add the fertilizer to the bath and let it sit in the water or should I just quickly immerse it for a few seconds? I worry that by subjecting roots to fertilizer longer than it's needed, I might actually burn them. : Thank you once again for all your videos. I've started watching your channel when I had just once phal and now, thanks to you I've got a whole collection of happy orchids.
Agree that Vanda flowers are very lovely. However, it is so difficult to make Vandas flower, even matured ones, unlike dendrobium! Thanks for the video.
Hi Dannie, I do so love ur videos especially ur newer ones where we can see ur lovely face! Have u ever used the Lechuza pots and medium for a vanda? I got one on a visit to California and I was going to try and keep it bare root, but it was struggling. I live in Oregon and even though I kept it in the bathroom with a humidifier, it was drying out and I had to spray it all the time. So I put it in the lechuza pot. I LOVE them for my phals, oncidiums, and most of my others, but I don’t know how the vanda will like it. Any other suggestions for colder dry areas for potting orchids would be wonderful, although since u aren’t in that kind of environment I would completely understand if u don’t have any suggestion maybe someone else will. I’m gonna try for some of the smaller vandas even though I have absolutely no more room, lol.
I have a vanda orchid. The black forest. Seeing your video, I tried to examine my plant and discovered that she only has 2 viable roots left. Her leaves are a bit wilted already and one leaf at the botto is starting to turn yellow. What should I do to rescue her? For now I placed her hanging upside down with a bit of moist moss on the roots.
Never tried vandas. I have some vandaceous species which i just dumped (mounted) on the tree in my front yard. Rhyncostylis are a bit tricky to flower from the hot equitorial weather. Aerides are native but the one i have refuses to flower lol.
Hi Dannie, i love your videos so much! thank you for sharing your tips n tricks for vandas. I am recently addicted to raise my five new Vandas and just bought another new vanda orchid that had over seven flower spikes but since i bought it last week, everything just turned yellow and the roots are rotting. I live in Thailand where its sunny and humid and highly ventilated all the time, i water it once a day with great ventilation and placed at south facing sun at high floors and no infections found, why is it still dying? i am so sad as this is a super fertile orchid. what should i do to rescue it? SOS
Good evening Miss Orchid girl I was looking at your video on using the boxes for your Vanda orchids I bought one four my Vanda. how is the plastic working in the bottom of yours can you use Orchid Moss instead? and when you tie them up to keep them straight. tying them up like that does it harm them?
Hi Danni just to let you know that Vandas can produce flower spikes any were on the plant not just on the top I have a very old probably 7 foot tall and it blooms all year round ,and any were on the plant
Hi, that is actually impossible due to apical dominance 😉 so either you are missing something (keikis or something) either that is not a Vanda, but a different genus which doesn't work on the apical dominance principle ☺️
Hi, i live in country where we have 2 seasons, wet and dry. My green house is just protected by a net. Do i have to roof it so as to prevent water accumulating on the leaves? Thanks for this opportunity.
I have one vanda. It gives rose red flowers. The strange thing is that its flower has its three sepals wide and open but the two upper petals are curled up. So it looks as if it is a three petalled flower. Can anyone tell me what variety it can be or is it some abnormality?
My vanda have spike top of the crown, flower is done now, the spike is dying. I worry if the crown still develop new leaves? My vanda is pretty old vanda. It is about 3 feet tall.
MissOrchidGirl oh, so it called Terminal Spike. Is it mean the mother vanda will slowly die? Yes, it shoot out 3 new keikis at the base. And 2 new flower spikes on the side of mother vanda. I hope the mother vanda not die. It very very mature one.
Hey Danny I was wondering when you do that video like this one on phalaenopsis orchids, can you also include with sick ones suffering from loss of roots but still has leaves? Mine is like that. It has 1 root left but it has 3 leaves and it has been almost 3 months since I repotted it and still not showing any signs of new roots or anything.and im afraid it be healthier when summer is over and it won't get as much sun when the days get shorter in fall (my orchid is inside my apparent not outside). There is only 17 more weeks of summer left here.and im not yet using any fertilizer.and i have it in bark media. But when I can use fertilizer I was planning on using better-gro orchid plus with the high nitrogen. It is water soluble. Also this fertilizer says your supossed to use it once a week, (I think it means more meaning each watering?). im not sure what to do or what im doing wrong. I have watched your videos dozens of times and tried all I can. What should do?
The orchid shown around 1:00 caught my eye. I bought a seedling oncidium on ebay with black spots on it's leaves that look exactly like the ones shown. Essentially, what is it and should I worry. Thanks to anyone that can help give me some insight! :)
justin bieber , I rescued a rootless vanda from a friend... I soaked it in a bucket every day for 15-20 minutes....you have to have a lot of patience because it took what seemed like forever to respond, but after a year the vanda has a decent root system and it is well on its way ....good luck!
justin bieber , one thing I forgot to mention... if it is in a basket make sure it is very secure in it by whatever means it takes... I didn't have much luck until I did this.
I have a Vanda that looks always drought. Leaves look yellowish green, floppy, wrinkly and closed. It had damaged roots when I bought it, lost more of drought, even more from moisture. Some healthy roots remain and they show new tiny shoots. But no growth on the leaves for months. There seems some darker green color to spread from the base towards the leaves. Is there any way to water and nourish the plant through the leaves? Last autumn I had it on the balcony, got even paler... obviously too much sun. During winter inside by an east window with full sun. Don't they like sun...?
why don't you repot your phalenopsis,i am waiting it for, every time I see your notification,i think it's of repotting phalenopsis, but always it's on other topics,uuuuuuh.......
Not sure who would even give this person who is incredibly generous with her broad knowledge of orchids a thumbs down!? Seriously!? Thank you for teaching me how to keep my orchids healthy you are awesome!!
My longtime experiences with Vanda - perfectly summarized in 15 minutes. Thank you!
Thank you for breaking this down so soothingly. I almost lost it when I heard it takes 7+yrs for them to grow
I just bought a vanda orchid and this was the most informative video. Thank you!
I just got my 1st vanda for my birthday in advance today 😍 am so 😢 i love it my darling

Can you explain about vandas growing without pots and how to deal with very long roots , 2 or 3 meters long?
Thank you. Your explanation is very clear and helpful. I am just starting to plant and grow orchids and one of them is a Vanda Sp.
Absolutely impressive explanation Danni

Mario Roz i want to see it

Thanks Danny for all of the Vanda information!!
Thank you 🙏
Please help me to know what is that green thing covering the roots in the pot?

Hi Danni, I finally ordered a mature Bangkok Sunset and excited about it!!!
Well hi I just watched your video on the vanda thank you May be I’ll get one this year I’m only doing cymbidiums and air ferns
How do you remove the baby vandas
Agree that Vanda flowers are very lovely. However, it is so difficult to make Vandas flower, even matured ones, unlike dendrobium!
Thanks for the video.
Thank you so much 💓

hi Danni, who love to see a video removing keikis from vanda.
Can't wait to go out for an Orchid hunt when I get my pay
Hi dannie, i accidentally cut a baby vanda from a big vanda and they don't have roots yet. Will it thrive? How to take care of it?
Great video!
الله يعطيك الصحة 🌹 وووووووووووووو 👍🎄🎄🎄👍🎄👍👍👍🌺🌺🌹🌺🌹🌹👍🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺

Wish there were captions for hearing impaired, would be extremely helpful.
Does vanda produce flower spike by temperature change?
Why can I buy a vanda pachara delight in England 🏴 anyone please
can you do a video on growth pattern of phalaenopsis orchids please? I curious about phalaenopsis root growth rate pattern swell please.
+Pamela Whitmore yes I will soon :)

hello, i would like to know that can i grow my orchids with no medium? just hanging them.
Yes you can. You just need to water them daily until the roots turn whiteish. They also require a lot of sun. You will also want to fertilize.
alots of orchids around but I like most are vandas euanthe sanderiana (pachara) and sanderiana alba...
Very very nice
That's how small the seedling is I have bought online. That means I have to wait for years to see it bloom 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
Me too
Just asking hope U will answer it. Is it ok to put coconut husk on the vanda root when trying to attach in a dead wood? Thank U.
Great video en Vandas, Dani do you have any Gongora orchid? I have some as well as Anguloa Orchids, Thanks
Are you going to get more vandaceous orchids or something similar? Like some Arachnis, papilionandas, papilanthe, ascocentrum or mokaras.
+p4ul1010 hi, yes I really want an Arachnis but other Vandas too, I am thinking for some new displays as well :)
MissOrchidGirl I have a yellow and black arachnis, I suggest you get the black one, is really gorgeous and looks like a real spider
Hi Danni just to let you know that Vandas can produce flower spikes any were on the plant not just on the top I have a very old probably 7 foot tall and it blooms all year round ,and any were on the plant

I live in the tropics.
My orchid are having spots in them.
Please help me take care of them.

my denisoniana also has a net root up near the top of the plant!!!!
What is the green cloth you use for Vanda. How can I make my Vanda to grow roots
My vanda have spike top of the crown, flower is done now, the spike is dying. I worry if the crown still develop new leaves? My vanda is pretty old vanda. It is about 3 feet tall.
+Danh Luc Hi, you mean a terminal spike? Well it might not grow new leaves, but it can definitely produce keikis :)
MissOrchidGirl oh, so it called Terminal Spike. Is it mean the mother vanda will slowly die? Yes, it shoot out 3 new keikis at the base. And 2 new flower spikes on the side of mother vanda. I hope the mother vanda not die. It very very mature one.
Hi Dani. I found your Vanda care. Thanks. Could I send you a picture of my orchids?
Hey Danny I was wondering when you do that video like this one on phalaenopsis orchids, can you also include with sick ones suffering from loss of roots but still has leaves? Mine is like that. What is afterwards? Might I pose a question as to whether the plant has survived.
I recently had a second flower spike growing under the existing flower spike, it even had a flower bud,but I dried up without maturing
The orchid shown around 1:00 caught my eye. I bought a seedling oncidium on ebay with black spots on it's leaves that look exactly like the ones shown. Essentially, what is it and should I worry. Thanks to anyone that can help give me some insight! :)
Then games
Very interesting :)
hi danny ! what should i do to my rootless vanda !??
justin bieber , I rescued a rootless vanda from a friend...

I didn't have much luck until I did this.
nice video dani just got check my strap vanda oh its really sad that ants eat 3 flower buds its only 6 all
Don't forget Vanda falcata, the smallest Vanda :P
+Joshua Ray Simpson I am still keeping it in the Neofinetia name since it is too different and sparks confusion ;)
I will admit it took me a while to get used to calling it a Vanda aha
why is it my vandas are continuously grow and becoming wild but not blooming?
Hi, check to see if you provide enough bright light
Ok, thank you
How much your vanda? Im in cebu city
You should have the Queen of Orchids (Vanda Sanderiana) ,the mother of most Vanda breeds.
I have a Vanda that looks always drought. Leaves look yellowish green, floppy, wrinkly and closed. It had damaged roots when I bought it, lost more of drought, even more from moisture. How about Phalaenopsis growth patterns danny? :3
+darkangelkitty34 coming soon! :D
Well, you answered my question about what happens if the crown breaks off....😢😭
Awesome video btw. I learned a lot.
Please send me vanda orchid plant seeds ..I'm from india
I have two for over three years and no flower what can I do
Is it getting sufficient light, water and nutrients?
I always buy orchid but die I takecare for 3 weeks then come back to NY my friend take care of it she said she takecare
can vanda roots be cut.?
Mary Strength you can
thanks
Yes, but I would not do it. Orchids need their roots to live. If you cut too many, you could kill the plant.
why don't you repot your phalenopsis,i am waiting it for, every time I see your notification,i think it's of repotting phalenopsis, but always it's on other topics,uuuuuuh.......
