I made a comment in court once regarding my dogs running loose, which were in a rural area... The judge did not like it at all & said that I was lucky she wasn't throwing me in jail for contempt... My dogs were friendly too... We definitely have a 2 tier justice system...

Trump has a record of misogyny, and a litigious nature, but he paid Cohen over $420,000 to hide the payment of $130,000 to Stormy Daniels for an affair that didn't happen? And he had her sign a NDA? This is someone who legitimate contractors and suppliers had to sue to get paid for services and products delivered. If it didn't happen then why not sue for slander or have her charged with extortion or blackmail?
I think that Trump has done a pretty good job of embarrassing himself very much on his own, but the fact that a former President of the United States is being prosecuted for such high levels of immorality and perfidious behaviors and such character was actually elected by the people, for the people is an embarrassment for the nation as a whole. It proves that we as a nation make mistakes and misjudgments just like any other nation and THAT would be our lesson in humility.

Settling is not an admission of guilt. Sometimes it is cheaper to settle than pay lawyers and be in court of public opinion. If you are ever sued you’d find out…the courts usually have you go to mediation before being heard by a judge. On top of that, lawyers can negotiate before it gets to mediation.

But Judge Merchan has found him to have violated the court's "gag order"; imposed on the defendant, almost a dozen times. That said: Judge Merchan did warn the defense lawyers and the defendant Donald J. Trump today, that if Trump continues to violate the gag order that he will sentence him to jail for "criminal contempt of the court". If this does occur, than in this respective case Trump can juristically, and for technical reasons, be referred to as "criminal defendant Donald J. Trump" after his release from jail - even if the jail sentence is during the 1 hour lunch break... NOTE: Don't laugh - Many defendants; at least in the United States, have been ruled by a judge to be "in contempt of court" during a hearing or trial, and have been sentenced by said judge; or magistrate, to 1 hour in jail... it is akin to a teacher telling a spoiled brat; who won't stop disrupting the classroom atmosphere, to "time out" in the back corner of the classroom, in hopes that they obey during the classroom session.

Ridiculous. His lawyers knew she would testify. Attorneys get a list of witnesses. It’s their JOB to be prepared for each witness.
Even if by some massive universal bad luck of not getting a witness list, why would you as a lawyer not being fully paranoid at the state calling the woman at the heart of the hush money and prepare like your life was on the line.
They argued against her testimony for this exact reason. The judge ignored them and let her testify anyway.

Both sides know who the other party will be calling as a witness and what questions will be asked. Unprepared, not likely. Nice try though.
That's not completely true.. First of all the witness list during discovery could have a 100 names and they may have identified maybe 10 they were planning to call on the stand. They can choose to question more people from that list at any time. The purpose is to ensure you allow the other side to object to a witness you may potentially call as well, in the event you need them, there are no problems.
Also, in special circumstances (which this case in its entirety is a special circumstance if we wanna get real) either side can introduce a witness last minute, especially if they deem any particular piece of information as "new evidence". Also, the judge can call on a witness if he chooses too, without the say of either party but typically this only happens in criminal court.
And as for those questions, they are not required to be given to the other side. The other side has the right to know a generalization of the subject matter but not ACTUAL questions.
