    I'm 67 and I only use the Flawless Filter on my cheekbones for a little highlight. It blends beautifully and I love it. I'd never, ever use it all over my face. I'd look awful. LOL

    I love how detailed this review is, but also maybe a little unfair...my understanding is you can use it under foundation OR mixed with it OR over the top, not all at once.

    I bought this last week in N2 and using under the foundation and over the foundation on the areas I want to glow and it works beautifully. I tried without foundation, just as a primer alone and it gave the beautiful bronze glow to my fair skin. If you have normal to dry skin it should work well for you. In my humble opinion, you should have used it more in a moderate amount.

    You don't really need a glow product because you have your skin has a glow all of its own! The tatcha side looks beautiful! I am definitely getting that primer! Happy weekend, Elle!

    I adore most CT products but this is an easy pass for me. I have SUPER oily skin and do everything in my power to not look greasy after an hour.
    Lately I’ve been feeling like Charlotte has gone too far into the “Instagram” look and being obsessed with the young influencers. She seems to be using only 20-somethings with flawless skin in her videos and promo photos. I know that’s nothing new(flawless models in ads), but as a women in her 40’s herself, you’d think Charlotte would want to be more down to earth and not leave out such a huge demographic.
    Sorry about going off on that tangent but this product frustrates me because most of us don’t have perfect skin, and whether you’re dry, oily or combination this just seems like something that will only work really well on young skin or someone with no texture whatsoever.
    It does look stunning on you but you’re skin is flawless. 😊 This was a great, thorough review!

    Hi Elle! I agree with everything you said. The side with the tatcha primer looked very pretty. It gave your skin a Natural Glow. I thought when you mixed the primer in with the foundation and then put it over the side of your face with the tatcha you just appeared to have lovely luminous skin. Very natural. I love that kind of look. It always looks great on you. I also wanted to say that one of the things I love most about you Elle is that you are always respectful. You give your true opinion no matter what, but you never drag anyone down. I have seen several videos where Beauty bloggers will take something they don't like and just toss it across the room. You are very special! Another great video! Sorry for such a long comment. XO

    Like yourself Elle. I adore a glowing radiant skin. For me the glower the better. I wonder if you would prefer the shade #2 as that’s the one you said you asked for. Thank for your honesty. I have to get my hands on the Tatcha primer. However I would probably mix it in with my base. Then and only then pop it on to the cheek bones etc.
    You so wonderful and gorgeous. 😘😘

    Elle, Just tried the Flawless filter under the Magic foundation and for my skin; a mature type, turning from combo to dry, it worked as a primer. Used with a light hand it made the foundation appear airbrushed and not so matte...I had also used a sample of the HFF on top of the Magic foundation as a contour(#7 matte) it worked wonderfully! I can see a few uses for this product, maybe it should come in a smaller package so we could get more colors and more applications. Thanks for the review, as always, I enjoyed your expertise .

    Your skin looks AMAZING!! I am hesitant to try the CT HFF or anything else that is illuminating because my skin is very shiny - so shiny that the kids I teach ask if I’m sweating- lol. So I’m always trying to mattify - not add to my oil slick! 🤪

    Thank you for posting this! I have been very interested in this product but like you not a huge fan of super shiny products on my face. I have oily skin and already pretty dewy so adding more isn't usually a good thing for me. I have to agree that the side with the Tatcha primer looks much better. Charlotte products are either huge hits or misses with me so like to watch reviews before I buy. It is funny you mention not being a fan of the magic cream, me neither but can't bring myself to declutter it because EVERY time i watch one her videos I get sucked in that it is the be all end all but never works for me, she is obviously a great sales person ha ha!

    I agree! I really like the demi mat side. I want to hide my pores, and I don’t want extra shine.🤗

  • @yensid4294
    @yensid4294 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    I like a demi matte finish to the skin with strategic placement of luminosity. My skin is now dry, but has lots of texture & too much shine just makes it look "orange peel" by accentuating every bump & pock hole & pore & old acne scar. So sure, women with very finely textured smoothe skin can pull off "glowy" but not all of us have that skin. Not all dry skin is pore less & finely textured. Can we please get matte finish foundations & primers that aren't mattifying? There's a reason you don't paint old, patched walls in high gloss finish paint...
    CT products I've tried haven't worked. Too much shimmer added. I am curious about her concealer/highlighter pen though. And I've heard her lip products are lovely.

  • @miriz4476
    @miriz4476 6 ปีที่แล้ว +37

    You should not have used the filter as a primer AND mixed in your foundation. Of course it would be too "glowy" . I don't think it's a fair comparison of both sides.

  • @StefLuvsFoo
    @StefLuvsFoo 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    This may be my favorite review to date!!! What a way to start the weekend. 😂😉
    The comparison reviews are great.
    I keep forgetting to mix in my Becca! I have to put it right in the middle of my vanity when I’m done here. My forehead always dries out and everything orange-peels and kind of breaks apart and flakes no matter what I do. I even try priming with an oil and everything still goes to crud. Primer is a no-no for me...even not the best on my cheek pores but I still try. Lol
    I’m on and off with CT. I have two of the eyeshadow quads and her shimmers just don’t apply well. They mattes aren’t the best either. Those quads really bummed me out. I never reach for them. But her mascara and powder are 2 of my faves. Gotta use a light hand on the powder though and like you, never under the eye.

    Hi Elle - am just about to buy the Hollywood primer when I figure out which shade will work now I'm using the 'Sonya water tan' product (which is incredible by the way). I just wanted to ask though - you used the hourglass powder but I can't see which colour you used, I have a palette with 6 shades - including bronzer/blusher and I think it's dim light and diffused light in the finishing powders, was it one of those colours and was the beauty blender damp when you used it under the eye? Does it not make the powder sticky if the sponge is damp? Whenever I get a new product I come straight to youtube to see if you have done a demo (you usually have lol) so I can sit and watch how to use it properly but I never end up looking as good as you! What I wouldn't give to hire you for a personalised session, especially on where and how to use shadows on eyelids with skin that is loose! Have you ever considered a trip to the UK??

Also, it says it has added fragrance and I’m pretty sensitive (ie: very prone to eczema). Is it strong or irritating to you so far? I have an online code to use and won’t be able to test the colours in store and I’m stuck between 2 & 3 your skin tone looks similar to mine but I do not like pink tones on my skin as I have red areas and I actually think it looks really great on you! But I’m obsessed with dewy finishes!

    I always love watching your videos. You are always so informed and I find them so helpful. I struggle with finding a foundation to cover my nose. Honestly it completely rejects most foundations. Can you recommend one that will finally stick?

    I like luminous primers. I currently use the Becca primer mixed with foundation. Not sure if that’s kosher but it works well for me.
    I haven’t found any CT products that I like. That Magic Cream scent is way, way too overpowering for me.

    Good morning from the 🇬🇧 !
    I think using it under, mixed with, and over is too much. For me anyway ! I use it under my foundation only, but just on the parts I want to glow. It radiates thru my foundation and looks beautiful. I’m 45 with normal ish skin and I love it ! 😘💁🏻

    This might work for me. I’m using Armani now foundation because I’m so so dry. And I need dewy. I started using moisturizer with it mixed in.
    I want to try thachta primer. I’ve tried Tarte to dry. The drug store one? Elf? Wet n wild? Nothing. So maybe I got a whole bunch of help here.

    Hi gorgeous. I watched a tutorial of Charlotte's yesterday. She used much, much less of the filter before, and it is better with her Light Wonder foundation. I actually have the Light Wonder and it's a nice light coverage. I don't think it's much different to her Wonderglow tbh. xxx

    But you put it in your foundation and used it on the skin as a primer, i think if you use it as a primer you shouldnt put it in the foundation aswell

      Yes she used waay too much--in fact, she put too much on her face before even adding more to the foundation. It's like she didn't want it to work-lol

    Hi Elle, great review!
    How is the Gurlein primer compare to Tacha primer??
    Thinking to buy one of them. Deffentlly will not buy the C T filter..you are right, too shiny
    But you look great in any primer😘

      SHANY PINHASSI awe thanks love!!! Ok they are very different from each other and I love them both. If you want a hydrated pretty glowy look go with the gurlein one. Not going to help your makeup stay on longer. If you want hydration, smoothing, longevity go with the Tatcha xoxo

    I agree I don’t think this product should be used all over the face you would risk looking like an oil slick. plus I believe that putting illuminater or highlighter around the jaw and chin area highlights jowls and loose skin and double chin. It makes that area appear bigger so I would not recommend it there. I would highly recommend it for the cheekbones however
