  • This is a video on the basics of tube bending for 1/10 scale RC crawlers. I go through making a tube bending template and all the tools you require. This is primarily for Radio control rock crawling fabrication, but it can be applied to anything.

    Many many thanks, Mr. Naumov, using a metal tubing template is fantastic. Thank you for sharing.

    Thank you for this awesome technique! I used it last night and successfully put four bends into one long piece of tube exactly where they needed to be to match up with the part I'm trying to recreate to rebuild a plastic RC roof rack out of metal tube. This saved my brain from having to figure this out from scratch and potentially waste a bunch of tubing!

    I want to make a Functional truck roll bar / ½cage for my nitro Tmaxx big block, that I can Roll over & carry It by, This thing is so fat it snaps shaft pins when breaking.
    I had made a "U" roll & carry bar from solid 8mm aluminium bar but all the braised joints broke. Its hard to work with, melting point of braising rod is only a little lower than aluminium so I melt that too.
    What steel should I look for to try with?

    Amazing work, do you build cages for people? I would really love a cage for my tamiya yj crawler.

    Thanks for posting! Super informative. How do you go about designing something like that Jeep?

    • @rossnaumov
      @rossnaumov  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! No problem. I guess it all starts in my head with all the components I want to use. In terms of where I start. Really it's with the skid and work your way outwards from there. Have all your wheels, axles, body etc ready to go so you can work out stance, wheelbase and all the basic things. It's also helpful to make a 1.1 drawing to start your cage. I hope that helps somewhat.

    How would the weight stack up with a drag car built out of the pipe?

    • @rossnaumov
      @rossnaumov  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a tough one. I've never built a drag car. Sorry I can't offer you help here.
