Awesome job, bro. That chassis is looking great. I can't wait to see the next video. I like the way you explain how its done. I almost feel like I can make one now. The templates make it look so easy. I need to find a deal on a mig welder. I have everything else. Well, I gotta develop the skills too. But that comes with practice, and I have welding experience from welding dumpsters together. Big difference though. I need to learn how to scale it down to making them tiny welds. Lol
That's awesome man. I'm a welder and I build little stuff with stainless tig rods all the time and I find it a lot easier to weld the small rods together with stainless steel tie wire. It doesn't take near as long to heat up. I do it just like I'm soldering somethimg. Push alot of wire so that you'll have plenty of metal there to grind and smooth out..
I've done that also.. I just got into the rc thing.. I bought 2 of the dromida cars. And built a trailer for one.. but gotta do some more work on it. And some re-doing on it as well. Lol i
Chris Castilaw I reread your comment and think I misunderstood the first time. I thought you were talking about using the stainless wire all the time, not just when welding the filler rods together. I have used MIG wire as filler before, most specifically when welding thin sheet metal and such.
Chris Castilaw The honcho is a great truck, any of the SCX line is really. Can't go wrong with any of them but bang for the buck is best with the SCX Deadbolt.
That is all in your suspension setup. This chassis could easily be setup for that type of duty, you would just need to choose your shocks and rolling stock appropriately. You can check out my Jimmy's rig which was similar construction and that truck was fast for a scale rig.
New subscriber here just went to your website and love all your chassis downloads. Also just want to tell you that i really appreciate that you offer them for free and can't wait to give this a shot.
Are these plans available anywhere? Im looking for tube chassis with minimal bends as I'm scaling the build down to 1:25 scale. Any leads on plans would be very helpful
That would be kind of like reinventing the wheel, as my Jimmys rig is based off of a full size truck. Google Jimmys 4x4 and get in touch with them. They can get you just a chassis or a full turn key truck.
What do I need to start welding my own RC crawler metal frame chassis? Best type of affordable Welder, best material ect ect? Would really appreciate any advice
Awesome video! just what i was looking for. subscribed!I'll be baby sitting my father-in-laws mig welder soon, do I'm eager to try my hand building an ibex tuber. Any suggestions on how I can get a set if build plans?
Hello! i am using your templates to make your ibex chassis. ans wondering about shocks. i want it to handle like boss on the bumps, but crawl like a boss. what shock setup so you suggest running?
J Reeves Shock setups depend on a ton of different factors. You need to tune them to your rigs weight and power setup. Trying to do speed and crawling will take a lot of tuning and adding a sway bar may be needed.
hey man great vids!! i was wondering if these tube chassis would work for a drift chassis and where can I get the templates?? keep it up and love your vids so far!!
Harley Designs sweet man.. i have buddies who would be interested.. will probably use one of your templates as a base and then modify to suit my build.. appreciate this vid..
I use a lot of solid rod, I get all my material from a local metal supply store called Metal By the Foot. If I use tube then I get 3/16" chromoly tubing from McMaster.com
I was on your part two of this build video and left you a comment. I think you need to look at some full size vehicles for correct roll cage and chassis design. 'Load bearing on impact' and triangulated space frame do not look like incorporation in your design. Your stuff looks like hobby stock hot lap 3/8 mile dirt oval truck stuff. People transitioning into a real full size vehicle with your 'primers' in the back of their minds will have chassis/safety failures. Before you flame me and say "it's just a 1/10 scale R/C truck, and I'm going overboard," Maybe upload some revisions on the tube of things that did not go as originally planned. I do commend your design approach and effort. Your talented, just step up a bit.
Hi mate im really interested in build a real size crawler and the jimmys 4x4 wraith its like a dream for me, so i was wondering if you can help me with the 3d design ( i will pay for it ) or if you have an email where i can contact you . thanks
Very cool, one year im going to just buy machines instead of hobby stuff and build up a good cave to hide away in building this stuff. Guys make a fortune from cages on ebay ive seen $1000 auctions sell for baja 5t sand rails ect. A good hobby is a money making hobby lol.

You need to find a: TIG Welder.
Thats what he's using.

It doesn't take near as long to heat up. I do it just like I'm soldering somethimg. Push alot of wire so that you'll have plenty of metal there to grind and smooth out..
Chris Castilaw So you use stainless wire with regular carbon steel? I'm all for suggestions!
I've done that also.. I just got into the rc thing.. I bought 2 of the dromida cars. And built a trailer for one.. but gotta do some more work on it. And some re-doing on it as well. Lol i

Yup it works really well with the low heat.. but what do you think about the honcho from axial?
Chris Castilaw The honcho is a great truck, any of the SCX line is really. Can't go wrong with any of them but bang for the buck is best with the SCX Deadbolt.

dude thats sick.. where did you get the plans to build the chassis.. i would like to try to build one sometime...great job and keep up the great work
I had that plate made, you can see it in one of my other videos called my Fixture Table.
Harley Designs what is the size of the rod
Hey just wondering where did you get those plans, been looking for some plans like that. But I can't find any.
Good Stuff. Where did you get your perforated plate you're working on? Block Too? Thanks for the video
Are these plans available anywhere? Im looking for tube chassis with minimal bends as I'm scaling the build down to 1:25 scale. Any leads on plans would be very helpful
MicroMark has 1/28th scale RC Offroad
Kits. You add electronics, Radio, battery, motor etc.
That would be kind of like reinventing the wheel, as my Jimmys rig is based off of a full size truck. Google Jimmys 4x4 and get in touch with them. They can get you just a chassis or a full turn key truck.
Hers a shot in the dark but I been watching you for years and was wondering is this still available on your site
It sure is!
What do I need to start welding my own RC crawler metal frame chassis? Best type of affordable Welder, best material ect ect? Would really appreciate any advice

Very nice. What material you using?
Can it be done in stainless steel mate, what welding type would you use then?
Tig
Awesome for sharing prints thanks very cool
Do u sell printed copies of the template blueprint u use
No, but they are hosted on my website for free. You can take the file to a fedex business center and have it printed for a couple dollars I bet.

Ok thanks. Going to run 27t on a 2s. Were can i get sway bars? And what brand of shocks would you recommend?
Desert Lizzard internal spring shocks.
You can use as conventional, or droop.
3 sets of spring rates for tuning.
Dude this is exactly what I’ve been wanting to do!!! Which tubes are you using?
I'm wondering the same thing
What kind of tube did you used on it?
Check out my newer videos on the subject for up to date links and info.
Do u make custom cages? I would like to have one.
hey man great vids!! i was wondering if these tube chassis would work for a drift chassis and where can I get the templates?? keep it up and love your vids so far!!
+manny fresh I've never done a drift chassis version but have wanted to build one with a solid axle rear. Maybe one day I'll have it done!
Harley Designs sweet man.. i have buddies who would be interested.. will probably use one of your templates as a base and then modify to suit my build.. appreciate this vid..
is it solid the bars of steel you use or is it hollow and what size/ type of metal is it ?
How would this type of frame go for something thats a little faster than a crawler? more like a tube chassis truggy or something?
What type of tube do you use? Also where do you get it from?
I use a lot of solid rod, I get all my material from a local metal supply store called Metal By the Foot. If I use tube then I get 3/16" chromoly tubing from McMaster.com
ok, ty like your tube frame videos, very helpful.
Can u make another video about building a tube chassis for rock crawler
BOSSHOSSGAMING The same principals apply to a crawler. I have templates for several types of cars on my website as well.
What is your bender called an where did you purchase it?
i cant find where you have the build plans on your website,
where do you get the links of tubing, how thick are they?
Will a solder "weld" hold up okay?
No
Good afternoon where do I get the measurements for me to do a roll cage of this ????
Were did you get the diagrams?
What program do you use and is it free
Luke Freeman you can use 3D builder on windows 8 computee
What kind of dollar rod
what program do you use to make it?
What kind of welder is that?
My TIG is a RazorWeld 160P

Where did you get the jig table
what kind of rod is that
what size tube did u use?
RC STUDIO You can use many sizes depending on what scale you are going for. I typically use 1/8" or 3/16"
thank you

Sir, Just watch youtube vids of custom crawlers in Moab. See what works as full size vehicle. And what breaks.
What kinda of metal is the tubing
+#Thrilling Vlogs I use 3/16" solid rod but I also use 1/8" solid rod and 3/16" DOM tube
What tool do you use to bend the tubing?
+#Thrilling Vlogs BAC Industries Mighty Rod Bender. Find it on Amazon for $35 shipped!
Thanks
Very cool, keep the vids coming
Will wire welder work or do need tig
TIG most likely or even brazing. It'll give you far more control on those small welds to be able to hand feed the filler metal.
does home depot have those
Thanks, I appreciate the reply
Thanks for sharing bro
You can get them from my website. You can find the link on my channel homepage. Thanks for the comment.
hey it's possible to give your plan please
You can find them and the info on my website.
beatefull chassis
What's with all the distortion in your video?
auto image stabilization screw ups
You keep saying tube; but this is definitely solid core rod...
skip to 5:00

Nice sweater *
holy shit overkill for a rc

What kind of tube is that?
What size tube did you use
3/16”
what size of tubing is he using
3/16 steel
Where do u get the tubing?
I bought my metal from a local metal supply shop. Many times local hardware stores will also have what you need.
@@HarleyDesignsInc what size of tubing is are you using
