Insurance companies are there to deny coverage. We need a better system
They should do the evaluation, I've had 3 spinal surgeries and even though they fixed me structurally the pain consistently gets worse. After getting 3 surgeries to be in MORE pain and having pain specialists nearly kill me with prescription drugs, fentanyl patches, morphine pills, tramadol, Lyrica, and muscle relaxers they alternated 11 injections a month in my back to battle inflammation - ( all prescribed at the same time) it's a big deal. You have to be strong to fight it. Ultimately I sought holistic pain relief because my bowels had decided to stop functioning properly because of all the pills. Back surgery is not a quick fix.
If its Antonio's patient, I wasnt aware spine surgeon do bariatric Surgeries.
Cuz he didn’t get a psych evaluation? Wtf
A psychiatric evaluation is required for bariatric surgery because it's so incredibly expensive. And there are very specific things that the patient must comply with after the surgery and if they are not mentally prepared to do that the insurance company is not going to pay for the what they call cosmetic surgery. It's a long-standing policy with insurance companies they don't want to show out long-standing policy with insurance companies because they don't want to Shell out hundreds of thousands of dollars for a surgery that the person may not be compliant with the follow-up. In which they would gain all the weight back and possibly even more which would make the surgery ineffective and essentially a waste of money😊

@@jetryan624 makes perfect sense to me now. Thank you for informing me why.
Insane, wise choice of words 😂
What happens if your health insurance company does not approve your claim. What happens if you're in the ER and your insurance company denies you the care you require to survive? Do the ER let you die or help! I don't understand how this works. I know that something has to be put in place. Does the state pick up the bill.
Normally if it’s medically necessary especially to save your life it will be approved.
If you go to the ER with a life threatening situation legally they supposed to take measures to save you and deal with insurance later.
And PEER TO PEER reviews are such a waste of the surgeons time. It’s a waste of the office managers time to get them on the phone too
Hisba docotr and get denaid loo
Probably because of the drugs that he would have to take during recovery?
Sorry no insurance companies pull this stuff because they don’t want to pay and put up roadblocks. You can graduate from HS literally and start dictating from an insurance company. That’s what happens. Even to get an exam, my comment is above of my eyes because my vessels were so inflamed that I felt like I could have fire come out of them. It is just how ridiculous insurance is.
