What did Galaxy 2 do that the previous Mario Games didn't? It was pretty much an expansion of Galaxy 1. Whether you call Galaxy 2 significant or not, I think Nintendo left it out of that Direct because they were trying to divert attention away from their leaving it out of 3D All-Stars. Look at other contemporary classic remake collections like Crash Bandicoot, and they have way more bang for their buck. So it's not the end of the world that Galaxy 2 isn't in 3D All-Stars, but it certainly does signify to me that Nintendo is engaging in cheap business practice.

It never fails to amaze me whenever I see SM64 modded into modern Mario how close the movement looks to the actual SM64. It really speaks to the prestige of the control scheme and how incredible it is that they managed to hit the mark so early in Mario’s career and how little they’ve deviated from the basic formula since then.

And the reason that the costume exists in Odyssey is that you need it to enter the courtyard, which is a recreation of the courtyard in 64? It’s not unnecessary, it’s just a callback to the thing that paved the way for them to even make Odyssey. I don’t even get how it’s cringy, no one forces you to buy it
@@CYBER_N0T the model recreation for the outfit is unnecessary because they cloudve ripped it from the og game or downloaded And their excuse on the innacurate model is that it fits more the rig of normal odyssey default model but if you compare the odyssey 64 outfit,og model and odyssey default on blender you can notice that sm64 og model fits more than the recreation except in the legs length but 90% fits while odyssey recreation is 10% I liked the idea of an 64 outfit but the execution is real cringe

at first, i thought this must be a mario 64 rom hack made to play out the scene in mario galaxy, but i just realized: this is actually a mario galaxy hack with the models replaced with mario 64 ones. and if that's not right either and you just made some 3d animation to look like gameplay, that would be incredible. whatever method you used to create this, i tip my hat to you, as it is very convincing.
This is amazing....but why was the 64 Outfit from Odyssey used instead of Mario's actual model from SM64? Got so much right with even regular objects having SM64 models...but then the most important model for the video isn't using the right model despite being easy to find online. "We were on the verge of greatness, we were _this_ close!" For anyone who doesn't know the differences between the model from SM64 & Odyssey, here's a few: Colors are darker, eye textures are different, back of the hair is wrong, and proportions are wrong with his head being huge.
