Wow- what an awesome gathering! I wish I had been there to see all those beautiful locomotives in person. Thank you for posting this excellent video! Cheers from New Zealand!
You are very welcome! Good to hear from you in new Zealand. I had a very memorable trip to Christchurch, and beyond to cover the Operation Deep Freeze Mid-Winter Antarctic Airdrops in June 1983 when i was an Air Force historian.
its wonderful to see those old engines actually moving down the tracks instead of just static . I liked the background music more today than Thursday's . The details in the video of things like the water tower are excellent . Can't wait to see what you do for the next steam up video.
Yes, it was special. The Nevada State Railroad Museum and the out-of-town locomotive operators put on a great event. Thanks for watching and commenting.
It is very relaxing to watch these old engines, I love the sound of the huffing steam and clanging bells. The engine on the manually turned turntable was great. Can't wait for what is next, thanks.
Yes sir Mr Johnsen you were right about more coming on the steam up! Wonderful video as always. Love the old trains, love the channel. You're the best. Have a wonderful, safe, and happy 4th with your family. As always God bless you and yours and thanks again for everything you do! God bless the USA! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍😊
dont need no super thanks button to say in a deep male voice , " super thanks "!!! havent been to the museum in years . neat to see sp 18 running there and so much eye candy. is that a aprtment complex or motel next door. i want a room or apt.
The Dayton was brought back to Carson City from its display building in Virginia City, and after this event Dayton was placed on loan to the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, and California lent the Genoa to the Carson City museum, so each collection gets to show a different piece of the V&T. I believe the two locomotives are scheduled to return to their home museums this year. Thanks for watching!
Thursday afternoon set-up at Steam Up from Airailimages: th-cam.com/video/TYLhbOGV3hA/w-d-xo.html

A fantastic museum in a great setting. Worth the trip. Don't neglect to visit the state museum in the old Carson City Mint building when there.

Now if they could only get V&T engine #20 "Tahoe" there that would be something.

Glad you enjoyed it. They put on a good event.
Maybe I just didn't see it in your footage, but was #18, the "Dayton" present here? That engine had quite a few Hollywood appearances back in the day.

01:00 What's up with the "chicken head"?
That locomotive has acquired the nickname Chiggen, an apparent reference to chicken, which has become a mascot.
locomotive 12 is operational or only statically restored ?
I think it last operated in 1979; may be fairly close to operational today, but is a static display. Thanks for watching!
