    I did an internship for the president of USA, I became the president when I was eight, I coded 100 apps in fifth grade, I became a member of congress at age 8. Stanford and Harvard put me on the waiting list. 😂

    This is so unfair cause half of our schools and colleges dont provide opportunities for us to perform such extra curriculars

    • @sportingdirector1
      @sportingdirector1 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nothing, I just don't have many extracurriculars.
      I did nothing in Freshman year, was a member of Student Council and NHS in sophomore year, I'm currently a junior and I'm doing: NHS as a member, SHH secretary, Mock Trial (not on main team), Model UN, ISA (Indian Student Association), and that's about it.
      But I feel I've not had the impact that most successful applicants have had..@@lourdricksroom

      @@lourdricksroomhello I have alright curriculars I'm afraid they're not that impressive, I'd appreciate if you could give me some advice:)
      I managed an online competition organised by An Ngo(I managed the online advertising and poster and banner designing)
      I was the finalist for a national championship (reasoning and mental abilities)however I couldn't attend the phase 2
      also every year I take drawing classes during the summer break
      I participated in some singing competitions(inter school ones and got 2nd and third position)
      I also participated in a district karate championship and got bronze and silver medal.
      I gave Olympiads and won school topper in grade 1 and eighth
      are these stats alright because I will turn hs junior (11grade) this year

    Are some extracurriculars considered as the better ones because they are national level or something like that? Or awards? As I know there is no such a requirement, but how much does it mean?

    Hey there are some extracurricular activities that i have done in my school years . Please tell me it should be enough for Stanford or any other ivy-league collage to grt into.
    1st: i have played many sports through out my whole school year(4th grade to 10th grade)
    And also won interschool district level compilations.
    2: i was in coding club and also somewhat developed a English grammar app but it's undone because our coding club was shut down since not many students didn't show any interest in it.
    3: i am 1st female commander in my high school mars past coub and lead the school assembly 2 years( in my 11th and 12th grade)
    4: i have also joined a summer came and educational workshops in my town when i was in 9th grade.
    5: i also won some interschool drawing competition.
    Are these enough please reply 😢

    Is it okay to do extracurricular activities that are along with your interests, personality and academics rather than a rounded?

    • @antilogicalsociopath
      @antilogicalsociopath 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      yeah of course. colleges actually prefer something called a spike nowadays, which is a point of focus that you put a ton of hard work and dedication into, while still maintaining a level of well roundedness.

    Kind of off topic but if I wrote my college essay on my love for anime and manga and how that changed me as a person and my values do you think that would be a good topic.

      sounds like it could be really bad or really awesome, depends on how the connections that you draw from it. I feel like it can be pulled of but still, it sounds hard.

    • @redvelvetdewdrops

      hmm admission officers really want to see something unique, something unique that changed yourlife, anime can be correlated to movies and it doesnt really sound facinating. Even i would prefer to hear stories about real life incidents rather than movies and their emotional impact
