This is funny. Last week when we were getting snow in Washington I was noticing that the wave 3 doesn't do enough when it gets to about 25F/-3C. I was thinking about getting myself a wave 6. lol I have my wave 3 pointing at the bed too.

That's a good use for a yoga mat Timothy...much better than trying yoga on one :-) I like yogurt, but not yoga. Mind you, yogurt wouldn't be much good for insulation. I'd like to think that when you get you're insulation installed, you'll never have a need for the Wave 6...but such a nice feeling that you will never be cold in your van :-)
When it is approximately 0 degrees C and you turn your Wave 3 off for the night what is the van temp. After waking I am curious what is the temp? Pondering what the difference is after the heat is off for a good night's sleep? Thank you! Still enjoying all your efforts in sustaining your channel. Keep it up please!

Howdy Mr. T. I just finished mounting my Wave 3 on a TV arm like Mr. Static. I think the direction flexibility will come in handy. I too am still up to my ears with insulation. Filling the ribs with spray foam is the worst, dirty awful job I have encountered. Hate that stuff. I think I will stuff the walls with wool. Take care and stay warm. AJ

If your climate doesn’t go below 3C Wave 3. If it gets colder than that Wave 6. When I had a hightop express I froze my butt off with the Wave 3 and -13C. The van wasn't as well insulated though.
I watched Forresty Forest he's another Canadian van dweller in a minivan he used to have the Wave 3 and said put out way too much condensation for his van and he had to have the windows cracked open and the roof ain't going and it's still had way too much condensation so he switched do the Chinese diesel heater what's your opinion on why he was having so much condensation problems
With good insulation and lots of air flow I've never had condensation problems with the Wave 3. I also have no windows. So not sure what is going on..?
@@Torin_by_the_Ocean yeah I know he had part of the windows covered up with reflectix then he did a build-out and got the diesel heater I believe he was still having condensation issues you just made a video about his diesel heater and why he chose that over the Wave 3 was saying because of too much condensation but maybe he didn't have enough airflow who knows
I understand you need fresh air coming in when operating your wave three. It appears this van is insulated much better than any of your other builds and it raised a question. How much are you overcompensating with the fan pulling hot air out because the 1500 btu is too much. I was curious if you heated the van up to a comfortable temperature before going to bed on a 30 degree F. night then turned on a Buddy Heater Pilot only would it suffice till morning. My dad's van is not insulated as well as yours and he claimed the Buddy on pilot only overnight on a cold night kept his temps reasonable but not completely comfortable. However, your van has three if not four times the R value and it made me wonder if the Buddy on Pilot only may maintain an already elevated temp to an acceptable level till morning? This would save on fuel and give you a little more battery capacity for other appliances. You could always return the buddy heater to Walmart if it does not work out. The pilot puts out more heat than one may think and you did an excellent job with your insulating... congrats!
With this van I leave my heat off overnight if it's going to be above 3C.... which it usually is. My heat needs are very similar to my low top express which is interesting as this hightop has way more volume to contend with. I'm happy with the Wave 3.
Do you not get propane smell by having your tank out in the open like that? Because a regulator releases small amounts as a safety thing. Without a sealed and vented box for your tank, do you not get a smell and propane buildup?
probably - home depot is great for some stuff, but not everything, especially on quality lumber stock, like cedar - get that at a real lumber stuff and save your $$$
Hey just a heads up I think that you're treble s sounds that you make that are associated with the s sounds ect are overly noticible. May I suggest a dead cat on your mic system to soften the treble?

I was gonna get a shower cap but kept forgetting. so after all two wave threes would have been probably pretty useful as I mentioned. but I see how the wave 6 can get you warm fast in the morning, sorta like the buddy idea you had to super heat up the space faster. I actually do that now works great

I find the Wave 3 in a low top perfect but never been -27C. Wave 6 would work better in that case.

He's also in much colder climate so that may play a part.

Nope. You've been misinformed. Tank will only release propane in extreme heat... like 60 degrees celsius.
stagger the joints on the cedar ceiling - and you can get 8's usually in bundles of 6 usually for .89 per lineal.

What kind of tape did you use for the insulation (the red tape?) Also, did you use spray glue to hold the insulation down? What kind? Thanks
It's called tuc tape found at home depot. I used gorilla construction adhesive to glue the polisiocarbonate
