I remember a hack used to run a 110 bar fridge off an inverter but minimize the full time overhead draw. The inverter was wired into to the thermostat of the fridge and only turned on in conjunction with the fridge compressor (cycle). If the inverters "power on" could be controlled by demand, you would have"the best of both worlds". How this works however is above my pay grade so you would have to consult one of your mad scientist friends. Cheers AJ
Chrome also has a solar system set up like you . Iused the same set up as chrome with the dc todc charger and 160 watt renogy flexable panel on my truck camper. the set up works great . no more low battery problems at all . take care and stay safe.
How about installing a on/off battery switch inline of the Invertors positive cable to disable the Invertors current draw when the Invertors not in use ?? I bought a Roku from Home Depot. When you plug the Roku into a led tv it turns the tv into a smart tv . I power the tv from my 750 watt Invertor. I found I too have a little current draw when the Invertor is not in use. I highly recommend trying the Roku , you can always return it.
Also the cheapest part of the inverter is the on/off switch. switching it on and off every time you need it, it will be non functional in no time. I leave my Xantrex SW1000 on at all times.
I realize this is a year old now, but did you have any issues finding an appropriate sized ring terminal for your ground wire? It’s such a small screw and they recommend 10AWG wire.
Great job Tim! I would like to use this inverter for a project. I will need to use the remote on/off switch for this project, but have limited space to put it. I couldn't find on Renogy's web site nor in the online manual for this inverter the dimensions of the face plate on which the on/off switch is located. Can you tell me the dimensions please? Thanks in advance.
I saw a guy install a relay on the Invertors power wire , so he turned the Invertor on and off with the relay, when off it drew 0 amps. What are you going to power with the Invertor? Good luck
Nein dummkopf du, your just uninformed 😎 The red and black on one end are for 12 to 14 volt DC input from the batteries. The 2 plug ins on the other end are 120 AC volt outputs for accessories. Hope that helps
I think those back terminal covers are basically there to protect short circuit, like dropping metal tools on them not necessarily your hands
Hey Tim, your van is coming together, looks good, cheers on the coffee, be well out there, tc

Beyond me too 😃 Be well my friend.

Ahh... a calming voice in a crazy world... :)
And no annoying music.
This review is 2 years old. So how is the inverter holding up now?
What fuse did you add at the end of the red cable and why?

I may just do that ☺
Love the guitar intro.

right-on dude, the rolling tuck-tape van is lookin' grrrrrrrrrate

“They don’t want you to touch this.” Taps protective cover that prevents touching what they don’t want you to touch. Lol. But seriously, nice review.
Hey Tim, just a shout out, hope things are well, cheers on the coffee, be well out there, tc

It is easy to find it on amazon website
Two videos in four days! Is this the end of the world? 😁
I want to mute the sound. Thinking about opening it up and taking out the sound. Must be like in computer. Like a pin with a speaker on it.
Great choice. 1000 watts should be plenty..
My 2000 watt Aims uses 12.2 watts or .5 amp...(24 v)...
Maybe you could plug in a 40 amp 110 volt battery charger to your Invertor and charge the house battery while driving.
Just a thought
Hi , is there a peak with it like 1500w instant or initial surge?
If you need 1500W surge, you'd better choose a 1500W inverter, and when we choose the inverter,we 'd better read its continuous power
Renogy receives a lot of good reviews
Excellent choice. 👍🏼
Thanks. Now if I could just find a good spork... 😆😂😆 j/k

Ryobi batteries and various other things
Smart move on the inverter, Timothy. :)
Hey Tim, If you want to avoid any phantom loads from the inverter install a relay or switch on the 12 volt positive cable.
Even if it's "off" ?
It is relayed from factory. so off is off. No need for an extra relay.
@@Benzmann1 thanks!
If it only does 12 volt than why is there 2 plugs on the end?. I'm very dumb about this stuff.

What JG said. ☺
Good lord dude get to the review already! We don’t need your life story
🙂👍👍

You seem to have dropped off the edge of the earth.
Barely a review
