I think it would be interesting if we do get catch AZ's Floette but not permanently more of get to use it temporarily to defeat the final post-game evil
I think it would be cool if maybe it went into solitude for many many years before encountering your character at some point and slowly startijg to bond with them, and then your character's bond with Floette is what makes it want to give AZ another chance at the end of XY

I think Floette could become your pokemon because kind of how at the end of Arceus, Arceus was basically like “Hey, your cool, i’ll travel with you ‘FOR A TIME’” it doesn’t have to be permanent, we also see in the anime pokemon leave the team “Butterfree” and also Floette is eternal right, so he could be your pokemon until you RIP and then go back to AZ in X and Y. What you think?
@@TheMega-uc5hp this is true, i remembered it incorrectly with the “for a time” part, but what gave me that impression is Arceus said “I would walk this world together with thee. Show me how it appeareth in thine eyes”, would that piece of Arceus continue on after the trainer passes away or would it return back to himself? either way I think my theory still stands. Floette is eternal and the trainer we play as is not, there are many examples of pokemon leaving trainers for multiple reasons like Butterfree in the anime. So just because we get Floette in Legends ZA doesn’t mean continuity is broken.
I feel like AZ's Floette might be an equivalent to a ride Pokemon of PLA or perhaps how insurgence used Mew or more specifically, Shaymin (the others work too but imo shaymin feels the most likely parallel) its a Pokemon you can summon to have it use its power to help clear or revitalize an area to solve a puzzle or for a late game thing, in a weird bsckwards sense you get to have and use it for the story but you don't catch it to allow it to go back to AZ in 200 years or whatever
So with Floette leaving AZ, wasn't exactly her seeing him use the weapon to destroy and take the lives of other pokemon doing so, but more so before that, she know, in order to bring her back to live, many pokemon lost their own, just so she could live. I'd say she figured it out seeing it take the lives of other pokemon to power the blast and she put it together that the same thing that brought her back had to use the same method. I imagine feeling guilt for having other pokemon die for her sake and how her best friend and partner could go so far as to do something like that, she just couldn't bare to be with him after doing all that to others, how he lost himself due to rage. idk if she was always watching him or if she had a link to him where she could feel his emotions from far away, but she definitely seen him change back to the kind friend she loved and it was so nice to see that happy moment :)
I could definitely see AZ’s Floette serving the role of a companion that goes around the city with you and helps progress the plot and explain things. But it’s not actually a Pokemon in your party nor can you battle with it.
Man, do you know how pissed people would be (including me) if AZ's Floette showed up in these games but wasn't obtainable? We've already waited over a decade. To dangle it in front of us like that would be trash.
I think what would make the most sense is meeting AZ, who tells us about his floette, then later meeting floette but not meet AZ after that to tell him.
I totally agree with the fan’s theory. In my opinion, seeing/obtaining AZ’s Floette only makes sense if this game takes place in the future. If you see/catch his Floette in the past, in the time between it leaving him and going back to him, I feel like it takes away from one of the most impactful moments of XY. Floette returning to him after the final battle in XY is so impactful because it waits thousands of years for him to redeem himself for using the ultimate weapon. That moment hits WAY harder if we imagine the Floette was alone all that time just like he was. It was suffering without him like he was suffering without it, but the Floette still waited in its solitude for him to return to the man he was. If we know it was chilling with some replacement trainer (us) in the time between, then it might as well have just gone back to him earlier. I will also say, AZ’s Floette has a sprite and model in Pokémon HOME despite never being released, so I think it’s almost a guarantee that it appears in the game. Hopefully the game is in the future so that it doesn’t mess up one of the most important parts of XY’s story.
I think a simple way they could give us az's floette without ruining the timeline or whatever, is by floette giving us an egg. Either for completing the main story, or a post game side quest. And the egg hatches a floette thats the same color. Or a flabebe of the same color that that stops evolving at floette. Or even evolves the full way to florges. And just say azs floette chooses not to evolve, or az used an everstone (lol)

I 100% agree with this. Floette has the same color patterns as battle bond gerninja. So I wonder if it just turned back into orignal floette and that's why it "disappeared." Or battle bond is a result of Synchronizing with your pokemon and a bond/evolution happens.
What if it was reversed though. What if AZ's floette is the "noble" pokemon and the one rampaging attacking humans? Whether first or last and we bond over time and has us secretly keep tabs on AZ
So all this talk of the timeline getting messed up... I kno it seems more likely than not that the game is set in the past. But what if it's actually set in present day? Since it was announced, I've found it weird that a game originally planned as a counterpart or sequel is now suddenly a prequel, that's a pretty drastic change. Not to mention, if the game takes place entirely within Lumiose City, then that's still technically messing up the timeline by suggesting Lumiose is significantly larger back then than it is now via X and Y, no? Granted, I've actually never played Gen 6 but it jus still seems weird to think this game is a prequel yet somehow "completes" an unfinished story set in the present. I mean is it a rule that "Legends" games have to be exclusively set in the past?
Well there’s another Pokemon who also Time-Travel is Spikey-Ear Pichu from Heartgold and SoulSilver. But can’t transfer it because of the game doesn’t work because it’s from the past.
My theory is that az floette knew of az grief but didn’t know how to confront him since she was disgusted by his behaviour but always watched him from the shadow and the reason she’s been gone for 3k years is probably due to a time paradox where she ends up in s/v timeline somehow in the future before returning to kalos (again this is just what I think don’t atk me)

AZs floette has been wandering for 3000 years, nothing is saying it cant join another trainer temporarily, it doesnt have to be caught, it can simply join you the same way arceus gives you part of himself, then one day later floette continues wandering, meeting whoever knows how many trainers
We can also get it for the hell of it. Cuz look at ash Greninja or likos sprigattito. It doesn't have to fit lore,just has to fit marketing & Easter eggs for the player

People are assuming AZ's Floette is unique. It could be a Paradox Pokemon or even a Regional Variant. The only thing that makes AZ's Floette unique is the flower and there is no way that is the only flower. Maybe said flower went extinct But I don't think AZ's Floette is the only one.
They can't distribute AZ floette You know, the same way that there can't be a million+ Ash Pikachus or Ash Greninjas sitting in Pokemon home right now 😂
I'm sorry there's really no way for this game to take place in the past or future, only reason Arceus was in the past is because you are taken there by a pokemon with time travel abilities, Arceus, and Kalos just has nothing to do with time in anyway. The characters in the trailer, especially the sketches, aren't wearing anything from the time period. The whole point of the urban redevelopment is just to make the city more natural, which is exactly what's been happening in Paris the last couple years. Lumiose in XY is just not a city that, "belongs to both people and pokemon" there's just some furfrou and skiddo, that likely belong to people.
