The Chan boards have always been unforgiving when someone is being a total douche. They for the most part don't normally attack innocent people, but they will go for you and anyone associated with you if you get on their bad side. I think they only went after the lawyer for defending the brat and barging in with idle threats in the first place. His reaction to it only made him a bigger target unfortunately and he certainly did not deserve anything that came to him.
I feel like they smelled blood (or naivety) in the water and thought "We'll show you Mr. Lawyer!" I wonder if it would have been worse in the states. Someone elsewhere in the comments mentioned something in Germany similar but that got worse, I think... would have to go find it. People on certain corners of the internet can really suck.

because there are so little viewers, it feels like a hidden little group we have here, with atro telling us these ominous stories. nonetheless i really hope you become a big channel soon, youre truely unique in how you present your stories, much love.
That's really nice, thank you.
You and the Irish TH-camr is one of the best. That Chapter I think.
I am absolutely obsessed with you and your videos. I literally can’t get enough. I wish I could watch multiple of these every single day for the rest of my life.
That random Shoko Asahara appearence in 15:24 made me spit my drink.
Wait, one of my favorite comedic Japanese cartoon character came from a doxxing event? Holy. I did NOT expect that! That character is internet famous!
Wow, poor guy was just trying to do his job. Then all this happens.
Another quality upload as usual, thanks! Your abstract, obscure, only slightly unsettling subject matters are somehow the perfect horror.
Another really thorough and interesting video! This all went down well after I left Japan, so it was refreshing to see something I hadn’t heard of before. You have a really smart editing style - the voice overs for news clips were spot on - and I can’t wait to see what you post next 🙂
Thank you, Alise!
didnt have the best day at school but when i came home and noticed that u posted i INSTANTLY smiled thank u sm uwu
Hope you have a better day tomorrow :)
Whoa that's some crazy shit right there. I love how you find and cover these incidents that a lot of people wouldn't know about otherwise.
Brilliantly researched. One of the most underrated channels on TH-cam in my opinion. Keep up the good work.
Thank you, Christopher!
Top notch, as always. Keep up the good work!
Thank you, Billy!
Just found your channel last night. It was the story about Breatharians. Looking forward to watching what else you have in store...
That seems like an awfully minor thing to dox someone over :/
The Chan boards have always been unforgiving when someone is being a total douche.
Similar stuff has happened on the western internet... not to this extent usually, but we can't forget about swatting which has gotten people killed in the past.
@@giannigiovful worse has happened on the western internet lmao. EX. Sam Hyde repeatedly being blamed for school shootings by 4chan, twitch trolls regularly calling in bomb threats on IcePosiedon while he's IRL streaming
This is relatively tame, honestly. im surprised its such a big story overseas
@depressed cockroach well, its obviously not tame when viewed in a vacuum. but its certainly tame by _comparison_ when you're reading stories of internet trolls getting people *killed* with swatting and fake bomb threats
Watching this at 2:25 am in Boston. It’s excellent, thanks for all your hard work.
I have to wonder what was is so bad with the lawyer to get all the negative attention? This seems more like a revenge rather than just "memeing" around.
Well, since I don't know what he did to deserve this... I have to say, I feel pretty bad for the dude. Anonymous message boards are such bizarre places and this kind of stuff makes me want to stay the heck out.
Once it became a meme, all bets are off. Most of the people harassing him likely werent even on 2chan when he was pushing legal action on the users. It has more to do with boredom than revenge.
Wow! Absolutely brutal. I'm surprised I've never heard about this.
Thank you for another fantastic & informative video. Great work as always. : D
Thank you, Murdock! :)
Dude should have trademarked himself and turned it into a manga series
i have been looking for years about this character. oh my god. thank you.
Ugh this channel is amazing I'm waiting for the day you blow up and finally start making like 40 minute vids
It feels so exciting when i see the notification for your posts! You're definitely one of my most favorite channels and it's a gem. Thanks for your hard work as always
Thank you, Aaron! :)
This video was great! I have to say, this is prolly one of the worst cases of doxxing I've ever seen. The poor dude was naive, sure, but he did not deserve any of that.
Definitely one of my favourite channels on TH-cam. I thought I knew a lot about Internet sagas but almost everything on your channel is something I've never heard before, it's great
Thank you, James!
commenting just to like a new episode drop harder.
this isn't necessarily related to the video but i adore your content. ive binged every video up on your channel, and ive yet to find another creator that parallels to you. your works are interesting and entertaining, and paired with your calming yet unnerving voice is absolute perfection. please keep doing what you do ♥︎
Thank you :)
Just went on a binge through all your content thanks to Super Eyepatch Wolf's recommendation. Definitely glad he recommended you. Love your content.
Your videos are quickly becoming some of my favourites, very well researched and with a good selection of topics, none of which I’d ever heard of before. Thanks for posting, I hope you get more popularity, you deserve it!
Thank you, Spencer!
I joined Twitter in 2012 w my name & pic. After about a week I came across a girls feed talking about how she was gonna put all this other girls info out the next day. I've been anon ever since. I changed my name & my pic just in case I pissed someone like her off.
I would just like to say THANK YOU for making videos! Your channel offers such unique content, your videos have so much detail and I haven't even heard of most of the topics!
I don't remember having subscribed to this channel lmao. But I like the vid.
I love how your videos show me parts of culture I never knew existed and it makes me excited and terriefied of life. It gives me hope that life might be an amazing adventure. :)

this is actually Hong Kong, not Japan :D
I am a new viewer and have quickly become a huge fan. Thanks for sharing your talent for story telling with us all!
伝説の男
Subscribed after watching this. I loved the documentary feel, I hope to see more!
this is a fascinating story. crazy how i never knew about something this crazy! thanks for also using onision that killed me.
Waking up to an Atrocity Guide video oh hell yeah! Your channel reminds me a lot of a more macabre version of down the rabbit hole, awesome work!
I love Down the Rabbit Hole. Thank you!
@@AtrocityGuide you should totally do a collaboration with him it'd be interesting to see!
You're one of my faves! ❤️ Love your channel! Always top notch research..
☺️👌 So glad you just uploaded!! 😃
Thank you :)
This was ridiculously fun. Not for the lawyer but at least he built up his online harassment resume.
The background and the logo you used when you were talking about 2channel is actually Futabachannel, a different imageboard.
I'd never heard of this. Thank you again for your awesome videos.
I adore you're channel so much. It makes me incredibly happy to have a channel that produces chilling and creepy content being made by a woman. ❤
Thank you, Kat! :)
Thank you very much for this video!! I had no idea about this and...yeah, it sounds awful.
I have yet not to feel amazed by the vicious violence people express behind the mask of anonymity.
I loved that you went through the trouble of showing translated images and inviting Johnny to voice-over some of the clips and images presented, it was very nice and made it easy to follow.
Thank you very much for this video! I hope you can keep covering interesting topics and events ♥
The Me!Me!Me! Parody was sending me. That’s awesome

Excellent timestamp (by chance I assume)
XD
Always happy to see another video from you
The “food i guess” scared me idk why.
Whereeeee have you beeeennnn! Glad this popped up asap!
"Time for bed"
Atrocity Guide has uploaded a new video.
"...who needs to sleep anyway?"
Notification dinged for this and I was like, "YES!!!!!!!!" Thank you for all the work you do! Love the content you cover.
Thank you!
I’ve always been quietly impressed at the Japanese ability to absolutely dedicate themselves to something and elevate it beyond what most people would reasonably achieve but it’s frankly terrifying when that incredible ethic is used in a negative way.
I was just wondering where have u been, and god, it's great to see you and your work again. Great vid, thanks
