Well. Including? Smallville do have a Supergirl at that's how you knew her from? Everywhere in National City's Are for there, is next to the Countryside
Laura is definitely the ideal supergirl. She has real life training in martial arts. She is beautiful and fierce. She is a wonderful actress. She herself deserves the role of Power Girl!
She also overcame meningitis when she was first born, where she was paralyzed on her left side, was not expected to live, could have been deaf and did have a learning disability. This has greatly helped me in my own cerebral palsy struggles. To me she truly is a Real Life Supergirl.
Joe likes movies n stuff So would I. I hope you don't mind that I prefer Laura for more personal reasons. It's just that I do love her more in Real Life do to her experiences that have helped me in my own struggles and even how Laura helps many other people with illnesses/disabilities. She truly is an amazing individual. I am truly proud to be a fan of hers.
Thank You, I appreciate that. I have to say she is one of the few actors I look up to as a hero and role model. It is such a pleasure to be able to connect with her on sites such as Twitter. I've gotten some kind and great messages from her.
She truly should have been given a Spin off. Laura would have been totally awesome. She truly is my Supergirl personally, due to her overcoming meningitis which has helped me in my struggle with cerebral palsy.
I too would have loved to see a spin-off with Vandervoort. But I wouldn't go as far as saying we were "robbed" not to have one... I will say that by the time the current Supergirl show (with Melissa Benoist was started), Vandervoort was then probably too old to play Supergirl.
VengefulBatz Yeah, true but Vandervoot did play a villain in the new supergirl tv show called Banshee which was kinda dumb should of just gave her the supergirl torch since she already had it basically and did a good job in smallville I thought.
Actually, it was a female Brainiac called Indigo. But yes, it was dumb they should have made Laura Supergirl in the series or at least Earth 2 Supergirl known as Powergirl.
I literally stopped watching the new supergirl because of the actress. She sucks and is nothing like super girls characters on the comics or the animated versions of what we want or expect and supergirl.
Laura Vandervoort is actually a great inspiration to me personally due to her overcoming meningitis at birth. This helps me in my own cerebral palsy struggle. She is a real hero. And I also had a crush on her as a teenager.
Helen Slater played Supergirl in the 1984 movie She's Lara-El, Superman's mom, on Smallville She's Eliza Danvers, Supergirl's mom, on the CW show And she voices Martha Kent on the DC Super Hero Girls
Tim Possible no way! Seriously. I genuinely didn’t know that.smallville was pretty good though at giving former actors from different variations of superman. Think they were the last ones to ever give a part to the late, great, only one superman , Christopher Reeves 😞❤️ Is Helen slater also the lady that plays the current supergirls earth mum?
Laura Vandervoort is the TRUE Kara/Supergirl! It is also neat bit of trivia that Laura was actually born the very same year {1984} and even around the same time that the original Supergirl film with Helen Slater was first released. Laura will forever be my Supergirl!
Stillport101 Laura will always be my Supergirl. As an interesting trivia she was actually born the very same year and around the same tume that the original Supergirl film was first released. To me she will always be the real or true Kara/Supergirl.
Thank you for the complete summary.Having been a Supergirl fan since her beginning in 1959,I will remind readers/viewers there have been many versions of this character. So depending on what Era you enter the Supergirl world, enjoy them all ,have fun remember it's a comic book character. Thanks again good job
Yes! There were rumors about a spinoff being considered, but nothing was ever officially announced. All I can say is that I sure would have loved to see a spin-off. I especially would have loved to see a show set in the future about Supergirl leading the Legion.
Joe, I wanted to share something personal with you about Laura. She actually had Meningitis when she was first born and was paralyzed all on her left side of her body, she was not expected to live, could have been deaf and did have a learning disability growing up. Now, I personally have really connected with Laura because of this due to myself having to struggle with Cerebral Palsy on my right side for all my life. As well as a learning disability. This is just something I wanted to share about myself and Laura because I learned of it rather recently and it is something that has really impacted me.
Really? First off, I'm very sorry to hear of your issues, Nick... I had no idea that Laura Vandervoort was born that way, and I think the fact that she was able to overcome it is truly amazing. I hope you will be overcome everything as she did. Perhaps she can be a role model to you in that way - making her a true hero!
Thank You very much Joe! I have to say that I was very surprised to learn that Laura had Meningitis and had to overcome it. I do truly consider her a great role model and a true hero!
You're very welcome. I'm so glad I could share about Laura and her overcoming meningitis. I have to say I feel very blessed to have her as an inspiration. She truly is a very unique and special individual!
@@nak141 Yes, it is very true. I first learned of it last year from an article/interview I came across online. It's something that has really impacted me and made me connect with Laura more personally. That's a good point, maybe her being involved with Karate did help her.
Eventually they'd have to replace Laura, but she definitely makes the better Supergirl. She can put on that attitude that separates Supergirl from Superman. Melissa is good for I guess a gender-bent Superman.
Well Laura Vandervoort was hotter, that's about it. Both Supergirls suffered from terrible writing. Problem is, Supergirl is best as a teenager. They should keep her as a teen in future versions.
Completely agree. Laura stole the show and was super underutilized in the series. After season 7 the plot direction was downhill and could have been more interesting. Even the ending of the series left a lot to be desired.
@NEP84 I don't mind the Chloe arc but the lack of Michael Rosenbaum and the gravitas he brought plus the work arounds to the story just made it less than it should have been. Even the Doomsday and Darkseid segments could have been done much better. I think it was a wasted opportunity to make this series a true classic had they nailed this. Regardless I bought the whole series and still love it.
Joe, I forget to mention before that I did get a chance to tell Laura on Twitter how much her fight with Meningitis has inspired me in my own struggle with Cerebral Palsy. She did in fact give me a response back, she said: "Thank You for this message. Sending Prayer and Love your way. Don't let anything define you." Now, I have to say this has really touched me especially coming from her. She really does care about others I have to say. I did thank her for this and told her I appreciated her prayers and love.
DC continued the SMALLVILLE series, in a comic book run. The Legion ring was Clark's and he later went into the future. She joined the Legion of Superheros and stayed in the future. She, Clark and the Legion, defeated a future version of Doomsday. Kara's return, is in the SMALLVILLE graphic novel, called "Argo".
You idiot legion is a marvel show you be yapping your loose lips sinking ships ass nigga your funky breath killing children and babies and proud fathers
Laura Dianne Vandervoort is the best characterization of Supergirl. It represents Kara very well. I hope he appears in the next Superman movie; or in the new series "Kripton", or at least some reference is made about Kara-El. Or come from the future to help your grandfather! It would be epic and great! Do not you think? Best regards! Thanks for reading my comment.
Laura did in fact overcome meningitis when she was first born. This experience has even helped someone like me in my own cerebral palsy struggles. She truly is a Real Supergirl.
you talk about the "best characterisation" as if you know everything there is to know, yet don't know the correct spelling of "Krypton" or the fact her name is Kara Zor-El (not Kara-El).... aye ok pal, seems legit! In future when you're pretending to know what you're talking about, keep in mind there are plenty of us out there that actually do.
Joe likes movies n stuff same here, but I just didn’t like the way Kara left Smallville for two reasons. Why? One she never got to say good bye & by joining the Legion, this could have led to a spin off of Legion Of Super Heroes.
Laura Vandervoort's portrayal of Kara beats Melissa Benoist's easily. For that matter, "Smallville" as a show beats "Supergirl" easily, and for one important reason: much less PC-infused feminist crap. The best example of this is the character of Chloe on "Smallville", who succeeded because she was brave, not needing hats designed like female genitals or signs saying "Mine is made of steel"...like Melissa actually carried at a political rally. I watched the first two or three episodes of "Supergirl", and also the crossovers with other CW shows...but it hasn't gotten any better in my eyes. Melissa's show is steeped so deep in feminism and political posturing, that I can't watch it on its own.
I also prefer Laura's Kara/Supergirl primarily for more personal reasons such as Laura overcoming meningitis at birth. This has greatly inspired me in my own cerebral palsy struggles. She truly is a Real Life hero!
@Moviefan2k4 "I watched the first two or three episodes of "Supergirl", and also the crossovers with other CW shows...but it hasn't gotten any better in my eyes." - this is a perfect example of contradiction... if you've only watched the first few episodes, then how do you know it hasn't gotten any better?... only someone who's watched the entire show start to finish could possibly say whether it's quality has improved with any authority. Your statement is nothing but empty hyperbole.
Bless you Joe, really appreciate your content and perspective. In this case I think I completely agree with you in regards to Laura, she is by far the fan favourite Supergirl though I also agree they didn't use her as well as they could've. Like there were a lot of a loose ends and I would've loved to see her take on a role in Season 9 involving the Kandorian's but overall as an actress she nailed what she was given. It's also really nice to see that the Supergirl TV series acknowledges her history. I've not seen it yet myself.
Laura was always great as Supergirl, she was meant to be. She was certainly a fan favorite. She was great in Smallville with her fierceness, strength, confidence, beauty. With helping Clark learn about his family/origins, protecting him, teaching him to fly. She had great action scenes as well. Yes, as I've always said they could have used her in season 9 to help Clark with the Kandorians. She does however come back in the season 11 comic and there are a few great moments with her. Some I would love to see in the upcoming Smallville animated series. Again Laura was a fantastic Supergirl and is the greatst Supergirl. The Supergirl series should have used her as Powergirl. Laura is someone who I have come to know personally. Has helped in personal struggles. I have told her she was meant to be Supergirl before.
Wow she was gorgeous. Those episodes should have peaked the ratings. Yes I think you did a good job in reviewing her as supergirl. I also agree the issue was with the writing and not the actress. She was good as indego as well.
Laura is my favorite Supergirl. She has become such an inspiration to me personally due to her overcoming Meningitis at birth, which has greatly helped me in my struggles with Cerebral Palsy.
You must be smoking rock salt you say a lot of things that don't make any sense there's no rhyme or reason when you yapping your loose lips sinking ships ass nigga
I personally enjoyed every character on Smallville. I do wish Tom Welling would have taken the Superman role more seriously. Being handed the Superman torch from Christopher Reeves is an honor he didn't respect enough.
Do you mean you wish Tom Welling wore the Superman suit for the Series Finale? I’d agree with that. I’ve considered making a whole video about my thoughts on that.
Mike Padalino I can see it from both sides. He's the only one Christopher thought was worthy of being Superman and that's a huge honor. I can also see it from Wellings side though. Superman is an icon, and once he's seen in that suit that's how he's gonna be remembered forever. Just within that Superman stereotype. although he did go a but too far in never wearing the suit ever.
That's pretty much how I felt. It's understandable if he didn't want to play Superman for an entire movie or even an episode of a TV show. But to spend 10 years playing Clark Kent before becoming Superman, and then to refuse to wear the suit for the last two minutes of the Series Finale, seems like he was just too stubborn in my opinion.
I was really disappointed when she was not the star of the Supergirl TV show. She was awesome in Bitten and really nailed the roles in Smallville and V.
I would have loved to watch a Supergirl spin-off with Laura Vandervoort in the lead. But CW had other ideas. And what they came up with pretty darn good in a different way.
Yes, Laura certainly deserved her own show as Supergirl. She was great in Bitten and V. And absolutely nailed Supergirl in Smallville. She was meant to be Supergirl as I have told her before.
Thanks a lot, I'm really glad you enjoyed my video. Though I still recommend you watch at least some episodes of Kara on Smallville - my video is no substitute for real thing! But again, thanks!
Supergirl also appears in the Smallville Season 11 comic book series. Superman visits the future and she comes back to present day with him. Helping him from time to time throughout the season.
I'd agree Laura Vandervoort is an attractive woman and fun actress, but that doesn't mean I'll enjoy any movie or TV show she does. I watched a few episodes of Bitten, and I wasn't that into it.
Laura Vandervoort and Melissa Benoist both awesomely portrayed Kara. I can't imagine the DC Universe without the talents of both. And YES, I would have loved to see Laura do Powergirl. Come on DC, think of the Synastry waiting to be explored. Lol...
I always thought Traveler was such a cool ep with sweet moments. Lana calling Chloe when she saw what happened and explaining how he was going to the Fortress but needed something from the barn and Chloe knowing that he needed the key went to check it out, showing that he hadn't told everything about his alien history just yet not just that, Chloe addressed Jor-El and he never responded, the only 1 he never actually spoke to among Clark's circle that knew his secret and knew about the Fortress also found it so cool how they named Brainiac because he was called the Brain Interactive Construct, don't know who came up with that but they should get a big prize for that genius idea it's interesting how many DC alums were on Supergirl besides Laura since you had the aforementioned Helen Slater who was the adoptive Mom, Dean Cain aka Superman from Lois and Clark as the adoptive Dad, Sam Witwer aka Agent Liberty who was Davis aka Doomsday on Smallville, Staz Nair as William who was Dax-Baron aka Doomsday over on Krypton, Erica Durance who was Lois on Smallville took over as of Season 3 in the role of Alura or Kara's birth Mom on Supergirl, Jon Cryer who was Lenny in Superman IV: The Quest for Peace was Lex Luthor for Supergirl, Lynda Carter who was the 70s Wonder Woman for that series, played Chloe's Mom in 1 Season 6 ep of Smallville and she was President Olivia Marsdin on Supergirl, Teri Hatcher we saw her as Lois Lane in Lois and Clark, Lois' Mom on Smallville and she was Rhea the Queen of Daxam and Mon-El's Mom on Supergirl, Carl Lumby who voices J'onn J'onzz aka the Martian Manhunter in Justice League, Justice League Unlimited plays M'yrnn J'onzz on Supergirl who I believe is J'onn's Martian Dad and Phil LaMarr who voiced Virgil aka Static and John Stewart aka Green Lantern on Static Shock and even voiced John Stewart/Green Lantern throughout Justice League/Justice League Unlimited, voiced Rag Doll on The Flash the Arrowverse show with Grant and also played Malefic J'onzz the Martian brother to J'onn on Supergirl. Still disappointed that Smallville never got a chance to have Kara and Imra/Saturn Girl working together, would've been a nice nod to the actresses co-starring on Instant Star
Laura Vandervoort truly was a bad-ass, as an interesting trivia Laura herself was born the very same year (1984) and even around the same time the original Supergirl film was released. To me she will always be the TRUE Supergirl!
Honestly when I 1st saw her casting I thought she looked like a Swedish porn star and would not be able to pull of the role but BOY did she prove me wrong lol
POP Studio DJ I totally have to say that she TRUlY is Supergirl! Whenever I think about Supergirl, the only real person I picture in my mind is the amazing/lovely Laura Vandervoort! She is my Supergirl.
Want it to say thank you for this I'm a big fan of Smallville and got so much more info out of this because of you cheers to you and hope to see more videos from you
I think they should have either gave her more screen time, or created a spin off. Also, Clark deserved to know what happened to the only blood family he has left. They ended that poorly, Imo. She was great as Kara. Thanks for the rewind.
Supergirl's story continued in Smallville Season 11's comic book (which is canon,) where she joined the Legion and aided her cousin in the episode arc titled Argo by which time she also called herself Supergirl and Clark was Superman.
I never watched small Ville , but how you just summarized it makes me feel like I did, and at the same time makes me want to watch it. You did a great job a summarizing Kara's role in Small Ville 😊 😊 😊👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
She even looked like Michael Turner's artwork. He was the artist honored with the task of reintroducing the classic Supergirl-as-Cousin concept in 2003's Superman/Batman series written by Jeph Loeb.
That Supergirl by Laura Vandervoort is by far better as the curent one by Melissa Benoist. Laura must have the part in Men of Steel II.And when it comes to fight scenes you can trust Laura. She is holder of the second degree black belt in karate.
I agree Laura Vandervoort is terrific, but I personally think it’d be a mistake to cast her as Supergirl in Man of Steel II. I think that would just confuse people in terms of the movies and TV shows’ continuity. However, there’s an upcoming TV show called Krypton (about Kal-el’s grandfather on Krypton) which will be in continuity with the Man of Steel movies. And I think it’d be fun to see Vandervoort as a guest on that show playing a woman who is somehow distantly related Kal-el.
I couldn't agree more! Laura was the better Supergirl. She would have even been great as the lead in the new Supergirl series. She is personally my favorite.
I loved Vandervoort's Supergirl. I was thinking though, one thing you could have mentioned in your Kara recap (which was great) was the other fake Kara that Smallville first introduced a few years earlier in the 3x22 episode "Covenant" played by Adrianne Palicki. She turned out to be a human chick with amnesia who believed she was Kara from Krypton.
Thanks! My original plan for this video actually was to begin with talking about that episode, but then I decided that would probably make the video too long. But now I’m thinking maybe I should make a short video about just that episode alone and call it “the first Kara on Smallville.” It’d probably be about three to five minutes. What do you think of that idea?
Sounds good. Personally, I just consider her Powergirl. But... minus the boob window. O.o You could always make it part of a one-shot characters or something too. The Wonder Twins and Mxyzptlk ones come to mind as well.
Adrianne Palicki is another super hottie who seems perfectly made to play a super hero. I know she was Mockingbird on Agents of SHEILD and played the role well but she could have been so much more. She would be great as Captian Marvel, or Black Canary in the movies. She might even make a wonderful She-Hulk.
If I recall, wasn't there another episode of Smallville where Clark got out of the Phantom Zone and the person who helped him, told him the same thing? (the backdoor secret that Jor-El made so that he or any of his family members could get out of the Phantom Zone if they were ever put in there).
You mean TV episodes? You're welcome for the video, but I don't claim it as a substitute for watching the real thing. I still encourage you to watch these Smallville episodes.
I consider that Kara's story according to Smalville is much better, more credible than the Supergirl series. I think if I had a cousin and my mother was alone; I would take her with her. The rest of the new series that I do not like very much; is the introduction of homosexual characters. While it is a series for teenagers and adults, I do not think it is part of the story. I used to watch the series with my children. Now I have to answer questions that have nothing to do with the series itself. But Melissa's acting and charisma is really to be admired! Anyway, Laura gave another vision to the character (I liked it a lot more). Saludos
Agreed! They used her more as a plot mechanism than another character on the show. Let's face it, if not by season 5, certainly season 6, they were just throwing whatever against the wall to see if it stuck. The last season had a semblance of coherence and was a nice close to the series. I wouldn't have been upset to watch it well after the fact.
Yes you said it how it is dude very spot on. I loved Helen Stater as Supergirl in the 1980 movie having my first crush on her at the age of ten. I miss Smallville so much and really feel short changed that we never saw Tom Welling as Superman as he played young Clark with so much conviction I believed him to be Clark Kent. Christopher Reeve was a great Clark Kent as well as Superman and was great to see him pop up in Smallville as Professor Swann. But going back to Kara in Smallville I too believe they could have taken the Charactor to some better plot lines after all she was Supergirl. Really enjoyed your video as if brought back some wonderful memories of my favourite show - Smallville.. Thanks again...
In this video you can apreciate the great influence and legacy of Smallville to Superman's mythos: the idea of the Wars of Zod beeing a cause of desestabilitation that lead to Krypton's destruction was never so strong before and it influentied Man of Steel, also Kara beeing older than Kal in Krypton but somehow arriveing later to earth or wakeing up later is again reprised in CW's SUPERGIRL and of course the fact of casting Actors and actresses related to Superman mythos(like Helen Slater or Dean Cain) The only downside is that eventhought Laura V was amazing, the stories in wich she appeard started to feel repetitive with SMLLVLL previous episodes, some facts were even reprised (Lex saved from drawning in a car, Lana controlled by Brainiac as well as Chloid, The reprimed memory thing in Summer's LAB and even the escape from the Phantom Zone was already done thanks to Rya)this was because SMLLVLL went on for so long that writers found it hard to came out with new ideas and all started to felt kind of ciclic. I think that Laura's Kara Kent is better than Melissa's Linda Danvers(however the writing and special effects are on M.B. side because the CW's show is entirelly dedicated to herSUPERGIRL
I agree Laura Vandervoort's Kara Kent/Supergirl was far better. Laura will always be my Supergirl! As an interesting bit of trivia, Laura herself was actually born the very same year (1984) and even around the same time that the original Supergirl film was released? And Yes, you really can appreciate the legacy that Smallville has for the new DC shows/Superman movies especially Man of Steel /Supergirl.
The writing in Smallville kept things fresh and different almost every episode. The episodes for Supergirl are so poorly written and repetitive that it fits Einstein's definition of insanity.
Thank you clearing most of it out because I was wondering was wondering about Kara aka Supergirl thing in the Smallville series and now it makes better sense
Awesome....thank you for sharing....I remember and loved watching the Superboy series with my kids.....I'm a fan of Superman and both Superboy and Supergirl....I used to have comics of both, plus Superman....one of the original Action Comics....lost all of those years ago....I sure wish i had those today....I also love watching Smallville and Lois and Clark....I will be watching more of what you have on them.....HIGH 5
I agree with you my friend, I don't see why not they bringing back John Wesley snip flash uniform Stephen Amell on his Twitter account release onset footage of him dressed as slash chords and John Wesley snip back in his original 1990 / uniform Stephen Amell fans and John Wesley snip fans with fucking ballistic when they saw those pictures John Wesley back in his old OG 1990 go to Stephen Amell Twitter account and get ready for a flashback to the Past John Wesley never look better and its original OG flash uniform
I think that they should've made a movie set after Kara goes to the distant future with the ring. It could have Kara explain how she knew about the legion ring and its powers, and why she time-traveled there in the first place. after the Legions and Kara fight crime together, a year later she comes back to Smallville to check on Clark. When he finds out they're fighting Darkside(edit: Darkseid) again, he goes with Kara to join the fight with her and the Legions to take down Darkside(edit: Darkseid) for good. Sorry if there's any typo's as I haven't watched the series before.
You are on point how they did not write better story line for the actress playing Supergirl. They could have used her to play Supergirl in the Supergirl series now. There are parallel universes so who knows.
As I just wrote in another post, if Laura Vandervoort could appear on the current Supergirl show as a different Supergirl from a different Earth (in full suit) I would love that!
Smallville's Kara is far superior to the current Kara on Supergirl. They should have made the show a spin-off and chronicle Smallville's Supergirl with the Legion
I believe that Laura Vandervoort did make some movie in which she co-starred with Alexz Johnson (who played Saturn Girl in the Legion episode). But I don’t know the name of this movie. Does anyone here happen to remember it?
CHRISTOPHER CASTIEL Laura Vandervoort is the true Supergirl in my eyes! She truly was born for that character. In fact, as an interesting bit of trivia: Laura was actually born the very same year and even around the same time that the original Supergirl film with Helen Slater was released. She was totally my favorite.
I couldn't agree more Smallville Supergirl wasn't always this fucking preachy like the new supergirl always trying to preach to somebody and then she gets her ass kicked and she wondering why because she's trying to preach rather than fight
So I am completely confused at the moment. I saw every episode of Smallville, and I never remember Kara being in so many episodes? Maybe a handful of episodes then she left. Mandela effect?
This super girl is better than the other one in the CW her costume also matches the comics more SOO ya edit:I love all these smallville stuff keep it up
Joe likes movies n stuff Who knows maybe we’ll see her as an alternate Supergirl in Crisis (even if it’s just via a clip from Smallville) They’re bringing in a ton of references.
Laura has been on the new Supergirl show back in Season 1, but she played an evil character based on Brainiac. Even in this role, she was more interesting to watch than the main character. Although to be fair, Melissa Benoist plays an evil version of Supergirl quite well (such as that one episode in season 1 where she got infected with red kryptonite). But Laura is by far the IT girl when it come to portraying what we imagine Supergirl to be like from the comics. She does the rebellious and caring sides of Kara quite well. But we should not expect too much from the new Supergirl show as it is part of the Arrow-verse CW shows, which if you have watched them all, don't all have the best writing on television (DC Legends is my most favorite, and The Flash Season 1 only was good too as well as Arrow Season 2).
Ruckfa I have to say that Laura is my Supergirl personally due to her overcoming her fight with Meningitis at birth. This has helped me greatly in my struggle with Cerebral Palsy. Laura truly is a Real Life Supergirl at least to me.
Laura was always such a great Supergirl Showed such a great strength, fierceness, confidence and wit that made her a force to be reckoned with. Yes, they could have used her a little more like helping Clark with the Kandorians in season 9, but she was a great part of the show overall.
@@Joelikesmoviesnstuff Yes, one of the best I would say. There are some great parts with her in the Smallville season 11 comics. That I would love to see brought into the animated series that is coming out soon.
@@Joelikesmoviesnstuff Yes, she has told me that she would totally love to be a part of a Smallville animated series or anything Smallville related. Due to Smallville having such a impact on her life/career and being such a great experience for her overall. So yes she certainly would.
She was fantastic in this role, way underutilized, would’ve loved to have seen her more in the series! And hey why not some sort of arrow verse crossover appearance?
Laura was one of the best things on SV as Supergirl. Was used just fine but could have been in a couple storylines, like Kandor in season 9. She was fantastic. My Supergirl.
I've heard that a spin-off with Laura Vandervoort as the lead was considered, but I can't confirm that. All I can say is: I sure would have been happy to watch.
I felt they did her a better justice in a lot of ways then the current Supergirl show IMO. Plus there's also been various views of Supergirl, this one was clearly based on the more rebellious version where as the current version is more of the goody always do the right thing Supergirl. Plus you have to remember, Smallville's prime focus is a younger Superman/Clark, not Supergirl so I don't think they wanted to focus too much on her which I am ok with. I wouldn't question the Legion thing too much, Jor-El informed her of a lot of information remember so technically they do explain it just not on screen....as to why she goes to the future ultimately and let Superman/Clark her cousin save the day in this time. I do love the many nods to the comics on SV though, even though now days all the DC shows do it but SV paved the way for all the current comic shows which is awesome. Cool video btw, I like how you show her showings.
I see what you're saying about the show being more about Clark. But I just really enjoyed this portrayal of Kara, so I would have liked to have seen more of her. And yes, she was obviously a lot more rebellious in Smallville than the Kara of the current show. I guess you have a point that Jor-el could have told Kara about the Legion. But I still have to ask whose Legion ring that was? I don't think Jor-el had the power to make Legion rings. And thank you very much for the compliments. I'm really glad you enjoyed the video.
Yeah me too, I thought it was cool how she got stuck under the damn in her ship and it woke her up. I guess they could have shown us but given how smart and informed Jor-El was on SV, that would be the only logical explanation of how she learned where to go, meet the legion etc so I guess they figured "people know by now Jor-El knows all etc" so let's just not show it on screen but they could have I guess, like how we see him teach Clark especially towards the end of the series. I always assumed it was just a duplicate made for newer Legion members from Brainiac 5 or one of the other Legion members/legionaires. If memory serves, we don't know who's ring it is per-se but I always thought it was just one made for Clark in case he wanted it for when they went back in time, the leader(forget the name atm) left Clark a ring in case he needed them since it can act as a beacon and he can time travel with it, that is the same ring I believe Kara winded up with. Sure, you're welcome!
MKF30, you might have a point… The Legion member you’re talking about is named Rokk Krinn (and in the comics his superhero name is Cosmic Boy)…At the end of Smallville’s Legion episode, the Legion gave Clark his own ring. But then a few episodes later Clark destroyed that ring with his heat vision. Then in the Season 8 Finale, titled Doomsday, Rokk came back to our time and gave Clark another Legion ring. But that ring ended up in Lois’ hands, and it sent her into the future (but just a few years in the future). Then in the Season 9 premiere episode, titled Savior, Lois came back to the present. But how exactly did she get back to the present? And what ended up happening to that Legion ring? I’d need to watch the episode Savior again to refresh my memory about those details.
+Joe likes movies n stuff thanks. Yeah, that's it Cosmic Boy. I read the comics but will admit I'm not intimately familiar with the Legion outside of basic knowledge, but I did watch the animated show and read some crossovers in the past 10 years with the legion they're pretty cool.Yeah, I remember all of that but I'm curious now I have every season have to refresh my memory as well with Lois I'm sure they explained it, I also seem to remember Brainiac-5 the good one from the future giving Clark a ring and Clark using it on his own with Brainiac 5 having to catch up to him to reassure him that his future is fine as Superman.
MKF30, you’re talking about Smallville’s 200th episode (which was titled Homecoming). I remember Brainiac 5 being in that episode and having a Legion ring. But I don’t remember him giving one to Clark. I just remember him using his own to get back to the future at the end of the episode… I should watch it again to refresh my memory.
For me it was the way she was written/acted and especially for the very interesting fact that Laura herself was actually born the very same year (1984) and even around the same time that the original Supergirl film with Helen Slater was first released.
xyr3s I think their hotness is kinda a draw, but they put her in more skimpy things in Smallville; actor for actor, Vanderwoort had more depth & darkness to her delivery, but unfortunately the writers were getting worn out by the time she joined the show.
there have been several actresses to play Supergirl over the years, but Laura was the first and only so far that made me get excited and think, "YES! THAT is Supergirl!" She nailed the role in both look and acting. I wish she could have gotten her own show. It seems to me like they had several spinoffs that they could have done from Smallville, and they let all of them go to waste. I would have loved to have seen the Smallville version of the JSA, I would have loved if they did Legion of Superheroes. Green Arrow. Booster Gold. Its a shame they didn't.
Yeah, there are so many Smallville spinoffs that I would have loved to watch. But for the network, ratings were all that mattered, and they had to make predictions. They thought a Smallville Green Arrow spinoff would not have had as many viewers as the Arrow show that they actually did... Do you agree?
They didn't get a chance to do much with Kara because Laura left the series so she could star on V. I wondered what they what they would've done with her character if she had never left
Are you sure she left Smallville to do V? Her last Smallville episode as a regular aired May 15th 2008, and her first episode on V (the pilot) aired November 3rd 2009.
To me Laura Vandervoort is Supergirl!!! I love all the actresses who played the role of Supergirl but Laura Vandervoort is my absolute favorite!!!! I could not get enough of her!!! Every time she would call Clark Kal-El it made me feel like crying. I felt she really understood that she and Clark were orphans because their entire race was destroyed!!!! During her conversations with Clark I could see that in her eyes and hear it in her voice!!! Now that is great acting!!!!
it doesn't take you much to cry my friend ? Kara did not call him Kal-El for very long . it took a little while for her to accept that clark was clark and not kal-el because for her she had just left krypton along with Kal-el . It is when she realised that 18 years in stasis caused her cousin to become an older man with a human identity and that the kal-el she new was gone and she would never get to know him ever
Laura is my favorite as well, and she truly is Supergirl. She was born in the same year as the original Supergirl film, does in fact share Supergirl's birthday. But, what truly makes her Supergirl is overcoming struggles of meningitis at birth. Helps me with cerebral palsy struggles.
@@guytremblay1647 When I saw the Supergirl was in love with Jimmy I was totally amazed. There was nerd Jimmy who couldn't get any girl. And now he gets the absolute best girl possible!!!! How great was that!!!!! (Yes, it did bring tears to my eyes.)
Joe, this was wonderful, and very well produced. One question though: The Girl underwater in the “phone booth” towards the end, which episode and season of which series was that in?
Thanks, Mark... Are you asking about the still photo seen at 15:09 of this video? That's not an episode of any TV show (nor from any movie). That's Laura Vandervoort posing for an ad for PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals). If my understanding is correct, the idea was to bring awareness to what Whales in Aquariums feel like (by showing a human in water and a very limited space).
I love both, why does it always have to be one or the other? They are both amazing in their own way. This is from someone who was a hardcore Smallville fan too.
Yes u forgot to mention what happens to her in the season 11 comic book of smallville where Clark travels to the future and reunites with Kara and battle doomsday
@@BLACKSTA361 well I don't know where in stores, but online you can go on readcomicsonline to read them. But here is a warning, there are pop up ads and some of the ads on there ARE NOT ALWAYS AGE APPROPRIATE, SO I HOPE you ARE OVER 18. Also there is a TH-cam channel that reads comics in an audio drama format, and Smallville is one of them. I'm not going to say which channel it is because that would be disrespectful to this channel but I'm sure if you type in Smallville season 11 it should pop up.
I think you have a good opinion of this version of Supergirl. This girl who played her was a knockout. It's obvious why they picked her. I still prefer todays supergirl to that one.
Geoff Johns and Greg Berlanti should bring her back as Power Girl. The ending of the this season reminds me a lot of the episode where Kara loses her memory
Well, as much as I'd like to see Vandervoort as Powergirl on the show, if that ever happened then I think the writers need to explain why Powergirl looks exactly the same as Indigo.
Thanks so much for watching. I’m really glad you enjoyed it… You’re the second person to comment saying you’d like to see me make a video about Smallville’s Justice Society episode(s). You are tempting me to start working on it sooner! :)
The Justice Society got screwed hard on this show. One example is not knowing who Flash was. Since Bart already mentioned Barry, Jay and I think another one (Wally. It was Wally), they did not have a name for J.S's Flash. A few other inconsistencies made the Justice Society story kinda hard to follow.
I miss this show it was so much greater than these others. I was a huge fan of this show and was so hurt they got rid of it and really wish they would bring it back with same cast members.
Please check out my video: 7 things you never knew about Smallville th-cam.com/video/dsKzDAu5mvw/w-d-xo.html
Well. Including? Smallville do have a
Supergirl at that's how you knew her
from? Everywhere in National City's
Are for there, is next to the Countryside
@@EthanSnyman I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean.
I too would have loved to have seen her as Powergirl.
Of course. Everyone has their own views... I also really admire Laura Vandervoort for what she does for animals.
Thank You, I appreciate that. I have to say she is one of the few actors I look up to as a hero and role model. It is such a pleasure to be able to connect with her on sites such as Twitter. I've gotten some kind and great messages from her.
when i first saw her on smallville when it was new, i immediately fell in love. she was drop dead gorgeous and still is. she’ll always be my supergirl
Few would argue that Laura Vandervoort is an attractive woman.
Basically we got robbed. WE never got a Supergirl spinoff with Vandervoot, and no cameos, and youre right. She needed more screen time, :(
She truly should have been given a Spin off.
As I said in the video, I would have preferred to see her play a hero. But it was still fun to see her included in some way.
She’s just phenomenal in every way. Smallvilles supergirl hands down better then current one.
I like them both and refuse to say which I like better.
I think Laura is hotter but 2nd supergirl has that school girl look to her. Kinda like the girl off of Big Bang theory
Kaley Cuoco?
I literally stopped watching the new supergirl because of the actress. She sucks and is nothing like super girls characters on the comics or the animated versions of what we want or expect and supergirl.
Agreed. L.Vandervoort was/is SUPERGIRL!
Smallville's Supergirl was one of my teenage crushes!
Laura Vandervoort is actually a great inspiration to me personally due to her overcoming meningitis at birth. This helps me in my own cerebral palsy struggle. She is a real hero. And I also had a crush on her as a teenager.
She was hot
Who dint have crush on her
Yeah your right
She one of my adult crushes.
Helen Slater played Supergirl in the 1984 movie
She's Lara-El, Superman's mom, on Smallville
She's Eliza Danvers, Supergirl's mom, on the CW show
And she voices Martha Kent on the DC Super Hero Girls
Helen Slater does the voice of Martha Kent on the DC Super Hero Girls? I didn't know that. Thanks for sharing!
Tim Possible no way! Seriously. I genuinely didn’t know that.smallville was pretty good though at giving former actors from different variations of superman.
Think they were the last ones to ever give a part to the late, great, only one superman , Christopher Reeves 😞❤️
Is Helen slater also the lady that plays the current supergirls earth mum?
@@ULSTERISBRITISH Try reading the comment again. The answer you seek is there lol
They always do this with the old original characters like dax-ur was the original jimmy Olson for the superman movies
And Michael Rosenbaum plays the flash on justice league shows
Smallville's Supergirl was better. Even her costume was more accurate as shown in comics & cartoons!
She played this character absolutely fabulous
Laura Vandervoort is the TRUE Kara/Supergirl! It is also neat bit of trivia that Laura was actually born the very same year {1984} and even around the same time that the original Supergirl film with Helen Slater was first released. Laura will forever be my Supergirl!
Absolutely 👍 mine too 😊
Thank You! So glad to hear it.
Atanu Das ya i wish thet ran with the same story well making super girl. But they did get the names write and the fantom zone
Stillport101 Laura will always be my Supergirl. As an interesting trivia she was actually born the very same year and around the same tume that the original Supergirl film was first released. To me she will always be the real or true Kara/Supergirl.
Smallville has the best of everything...
I wouldn't quite go that far. But I'd definitely say it was overall a great show, and worth remembering.
Fax
You're right. Anyone who disagrees slightly is wrong.
And consider how much comic book stuff it gave us for a 10 series show, where it took an entire Arrowverse to give us all of that.
@Michael Ray Slade Wilson was definitely in Smallville. One of the few characters that they did awfully.
Thank you for the complete summary.Having been a Supergirl fan since her beginning in 1959,I will remind readers/viewers there have been many versions of this character. So depending on what Era you enter the Supergirl world, enjoy them all ,have fun remember it's a comic book character. Thanks again good job
Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked it.
This version of Supergirl deserved way more screen time and possibly a spinoff!! That would have been awesome.
Yes! There were rumors about a spinoff being considered, but nothing was ever officially announced. All I can say is that I sure would have loved to see a spin-off. I especially would have loved to see a show set in the future about Supergirl leading the Legion.
Was hoping for a legion spinoff with her in the leading roll.shame
Best supergirl hands down loved her play on kara.
Wow is that true. May be the martial arts helped her.
@@nak141 Yes, it is very true. I first learned of it last year from an article/interview I came across online. It's something that has really impacted me and made me connect with Laura more personally. That's a good point, maybe her being involved with Karate did help her.
They should’ve used her as supergirl on the show supergirl and Michael Rosenbaum as lex luthor
She was probably slightly older than what they were looking for. Still, I personally would have been happy to watch a show such as what you described!
Supergirl is not a Smallville spinoff.
Personally, I didn't think the writing was terrible on either. Though I agree it'd be nice to see Kara as a teenager in future versions.
thats why she's called Supergirl my friend , when they will use an older looking one it will be Superwomen like they did in the past
Completely agree. Laura stole the show and was super underutilized in the series. After season 7 the plot direction was downhill and could have been more interesting. Even the ending of the series left a lot to be desired.
Yes.
Legion is a marvel show you be yapping your loose lips sinking ships ass nigga your funky breath killing children and babies and proud fathers
@@yourmother4343 He means the Legion of super heroes from DC comics not the marvel show so stop being so disrespectful no Marvel fan boys needed.
Laura vanderbelt did a great job of supergirl in smallville but they could have told us how she gets the ring
I agree!
I prefer Kara from Smallville...she is more intresting
I like them both. I won’t say which one I prefer.
So do I,
Joe likes movies n stuff same here, but I just didn’t like the way Kara left Smallville for two reasons. Why? One she never got to say good bye & by joining the Legion, this could have led to a spin off of Legion Of Super Heroes.
she is so HOT and f#ckable!
yes i agree steven and kara returns in season 11 comics
I still prefer smallville super girl to the current one
Laura Vandervoort is the true Supergirl in my humble opinion.
same here
same here
Team Kayos as of now so do I they should HAVE DONE THAT FROM THE START. ?
Nick Hydier she sure is and very intelligent beautiful and believable .to be SUPERGIRL .
What Melissa Benoist does in her personal life, and the way her character is written and portrayed on the show, are two separate issues.
you are so right!
I agree. The political junk in the new Supergirl show turned me off.
@Moviefan2k4
"I watched the first two or three episodes of "Supergirl", and also the crossovers with other CW shows...but it hasn't gotten any better in my eyes." - this is a perfect example of contradiction... if you've only watched the first few episodes, then how do you know it hasn't gotten any better?... only someone who's watched the entire show start to finish could possibly say whether it's quality has improved with any authority.
Thanks, DR Paquette.
Smallvile supergirl is way better than the current.
Laura is my favorite Supergirl. She has become such an inspiration to me personally due to her overcoming Meningitis at birth, which has greatly helped me in my struggles with Cerebral Palsy.
I agree. When i look her i think i look my self!!
Suoer hot, sexier, prettier
Aryan. Nah
Mike Padalino Yeah he kinda pissed on that honor.
Mike Padalino
The Superman Curse. Look it up.
I was in luv with her when she first appeared on smallville
I can understand why!
same instant crush till now and on
I was really disappointed when she was not the star of the Supergirl TV show.
I enjoyed your video and It explains a lot about Smallvill Kara.
Thanks a lot, I'm really glad you enjoyed my video. Though I still recommend you watch at least some episodes of Kara on Smallville - my video is no substitute for real thing! But again, thanks!
Yeah, she was one of my favorites. Beauty and more.
Vandervoort was great.
Supergirl also appears in the Smallville Season 11 comic book series. Superman visits the future and she comes back to present day with him. Helping him from time to time throughout the season.
you bring back the thing in me watching this i miss it Smallville now 🥰♥️💯
Thanks so much, Vernie!
Well for me it doesn't really matter what role she's playing any time we get to see Laura Vandervoort it's a good thing.
Lol...
I am yet to hear from one person who would not like to see Laura Vandervoort play Power Girl!
I always thought Traveler was such a cool ep with sweet moments.
Lana calling Chloe when she saw what happened and explaining how he was going to the Fortress but needed something from the barn and Chloe knowing that he needed the key went to check it out, showing that he hadn't told everything about his alien history just yet
not just that, Chloe addressed Jor-El and he never responded, the only 1 he never actually spoke to among Clark's circle that knew his secret and knew about the Fortress
also found it so cool how they named Brainiac because he was called the Brain Interactive Construct, don't know who came up with that but they should get a big prize for that genius idea
it's interesting how many DC alums were on Supergirl besides Laura since you had the aforementioned Helen Slater who was the adoptive Mom, Dean Cain aka Superman from Lois and Clark as the adoptive Dad,
Sam Witwer aka Agent Liberty who was Davis aka Doomsday on Smallville, Staz Nair as William who was Dax-Baron aka Doomsday over on Krypton,
Erica Durance who was Lois on Smallville took over as of Season 3 in the role of Alura or Kara's birth Mom on Supergirl, Jon Cryer who was Lenny in Superman IV: The Quest for Peace was Lex Luthor for Supergirl, Lynda Carter who was the 70s Wonder Woman for that series, played Chloe's Mom in 1 Season 6 ep of Smallville and she was President Olivia Marsdin on Supergirl, Teri Hatcher we saw her as Lois Lane in Lois and Clark, Lois' Mom on Smallville and she was Rhea the Queen of Daxam and Mon-El's Mom on Supergirl,
Carl Lumby who voices J'onn J'onzz aka the Martian Manhunter in Justice League, Justice League Unlimited plays M'yrnn J'onzz on Supergirl who I believe is J'onn's Martian Dad and Phil LaMarr who voiced Virgil aka Static and John Stewart aka Green Lantern on Static Shock and even voiced John Stewart/Green Lantern throughout Justice League/Justice League Unlimited, voiced Rag Doll on The Flash the Arrowverse show with Grant and also played Malefic J'onzz the Martian brother to J'onn on Supergirl.
Still disappointed that Smallville never got a chance to have Kara and Imra/Saturn Girl working together, would've been a nice nod to the actresses co-starring on Instant Star
Just saw this video too, damn Ur spot on haha Laura was kick ass and underrated. Ur stuff is good.
Laura Vandervoort truly was a bad-ass, as an interesting trivia Laura herself was born the very same year (1984) and even around the same time the original Supergirl film was released. To me she will always be the TRUE Supergirl!
Thanks a lot Pop. I'm glad you like it. I should have more videos posted soon.
Want it to say thank you for this I'm a big fan of Smallville and got so much more info out of this because of you cheers to you and hope to see more videos from you
Thanks so much, Jay. I'm really glad you like it.
I think they should have either gave her more screen time, or created a spin off. Also, Clark deserved to know what happened to the only blood family he has left. They ended that poorly, Imo. She was great as Kara. Thanks for the rewind.
There were rumors she'd get a spin-off, but it never happened.
Supergirl's story continued in Smallville Season 11's comic book (which is canon,) where she joined the Legion and aided her cousin in the episode arc titled Argo by which time she also called herself Supergirl and Clark was Superman.
Completely true. I just try to keep my videos focused on the show. But you are 100% correct.
I never watched small Ville , but how you just summarized it makes me feel like I did, and at the same time makes me want to watch it. You did a great job a summarizing Kara's role in Small Ville 😊 😊 😊👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
Thanks so much, Ashley! I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and I hope you will watch Smallville.
She even looked like Michael Turner's artwork. He was the artist honored with the task of reintroducing the classic Supergirl-as-Cousin concept in 2003's Superman/Batman series written by Jeph Loeb.
I could be wrong, but I believe Loeb was involved with writing the episode about the first Kara on Smallville th-cam.com/video/SYRpx5byIRY/w-d-xo.html
Actually, I believe it is third degree black belt.
According to Wikipedia, it's a second-degree black belt.
I actually like both actresses as Kara, Melissa, and Laura. Laura has more of the Kryptonian attitude whereas Melissa is more Earth-like.
The legionnaires in Smallville look more like the Legionnaires in the comics than those on the Supergirl tv show.
Absolutely! 100% true!
You could always make it part of a one-shot characters or something too.
She might even make a wonderful She-Hulk.
imkluu, as I read your comments a new idea just went through my head: what if Adrianne Palicki played Power Girl on the current show?
Jor-El did that to her
Has anyone already mentioned she was smokin hot?
Hi Bill. Yes, many people have said this. I agree she is an attractive woman.
She’s a 10 a fuckin TEN!!!
If I recall, wasn't there another episode of Smallville where Clark got out of the Phantom Zone and the person who helped him, told him the same thing?
(the backdoor secret that Jor-El made so that he or any of his family members could get out of the Phantom Zone if they were ever put in there).
I'm not exactly sure which episode you're talking about... Are you talking about Season 6's 6th episode titled Fallout?
@@Joelikesmoviesnstuff Kryptonian girl who helped Kal-El wasn't Kara. And died in the same episode. :(
I remember. I never said she was Kara.
GOSH I MISSED ALL THESE MOVIES APPRECIATE THESE CLIPS !!
Saludos
I have no problem with the current show including homosexual characters.
I personally did not think Season 10 gave the best possible close for the series. But that’s just my opinion. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
I totally agree, Laura was excellent and the writers really dropped the ball.
The writers should have used more of her, I agree.
In this video you can apreciate the great influence and legacy of Smallville to Superman's mythos: the idea of the Wars of Zod beeing a cause of desestabilitation that lead to Krypton's destruction was never so strong before and it influentied Man of Steel, also Kara beeing older than Kal in Krypton but somehow arriveing later to earth or wakeing up later is again reprised in CW's SUPERGIRL
and of course the fact of casting Actors and actresses related to Superman mythos(like Helen Slater or Dean Cain)
The only downside is that eventhought Laura V was amazing, the stories in wich she appeard started to feel repetitive with SMLLVLL previous episodes, some facts were even reprised
(Lex saved from drawning in a car, Lana controlled by Brainiac as well as Chloid,
The reprimed memory thing in Summer's LAB and even the escape from the Phantom Zone was already done thanks to Rya)this was because SMLLVLL went on for so long that writers found it hard to came out with new ideas and all started to felt kind of ciclic.
You're welcome.
Smallville full series is available on Amazon prime videos.
Dude you nailed it! Great Synopsis!
Thanks so much, frankwhiz!
I love Supergirl and I love Laura's version.
Same here!
Thanks so much, Karlisa! I'm glad you liked this video, and I look forward to reading your comments on my others.
Helen Slater is my favorite Supergirl, she so beautiful!🌷
Really? That's cool. I'm glad to see there are some fans who would pick Helen Slater as their favorite.
Right her time on smallivie was better hopefully they bring her back in supergirl as power girl
Hopefully!
I liked as her Supergirl and was disappointed that she left Clark/Superman.
You're almost making it sound like Clark and Kara were a couple.
She was never meant to be in this time line.
Kara in Smallville is so damn sexy! But I do love Supergirl as it is now though! I just feel sad they didn't make more season of Smallville.
Smallville went on ten seasons. In all honesty, I personally thought it went on too long... How long do you think it should have gone on?
I think that they should've made a movie set after Kara goes to the distant future with the ring. It could have Kara explain how she knew about the legion ring and its powers, and why she time-traveled there in the first place. after the Legions and Kara fight crime together, a year later she comes back to Smallville to check on Clark. When he finds out they're fighting Darkside(edit: Darkseid) again, he goes with Kara to join the fight with her and the Legions to take down Darkside(edit: Darkseid) for good. Sorry if there's any typo's as I haven't watched the series before.
I would have liked to have seen that!
Joe likes movies n stuff I was going to say the same thing.
@@johnreed1856 Thanks for telling me man, I just edited my comment.
I've seen ALL these episodes as a kid.
You sir just jogged my memory very well. Tnx m69
You're welcome! Thanks for watching.
Smallville's Kara is far superior to the current Kara on Supergirl. They should have made the show a spin-off and chronicle Smallville's Supergirl with the Legion
I would have loved to watch a spin-off about Kara and the Legion in the future.
Agreed the new Supergirl is trash..the show is too powder puff
T.O Marrow So very true, Laura Vandervoort is the TRUE Kara/Supergirl!
Smallville Kara is better than the current Kara.
I like them both a lot, but refuse to say which I like better :)
i agree
All day!
I couldn't agree more Smallville Supergirl wasn't always this fucking preachy like the new supergirl always trying to preach to somebody and then she gets her ass kicked and she wondering why because she's trying to preach rather than fight
Yes way better
So I am completely confused at the moment. I saw every episode of Smallville, and I never remember Kara being in so many episodes? Maybe a handful of episodes then she left. Mandela effect?
Hi Alex. I'm not sure what to tell you. Nothing I said in this video was a lie.
This super girl is better than the other one in the CW her costume also matches the comics more SOO ya edit:I love all these smallville stuff keep it up
Thanks! I plan to have a few more Smallville videos posted in November, so please hit subscribe so you'll be notified as soon as they're posted.
Laura Vandervoort will always be the TRUE Kara/Supergirl! Totally my favorite!
Nick, did you see the episodes of the current Supergirl show that Laura Vandervoort appeared on as a guest?
Yes, I did.
Smallville is my favourite TV series;D
I really like a lot of it, too!
they should cast her as Power Girl in Crisis, but I'm sure it won't happen.
I think it's too late for Crisis. Maybe she could still play Power Girl on one future episode!
Joe likes movies n stuff Who knows maybe we’ll see her as an alternate Supergirl in Crisis (even if it’s just via a clip from Smallville) They’re bringing in a ton of references.
Too bad we did not.
I only care about Smallville's Lex Luthor. He's the most interesting live-action Lex Luthor I've seen.
Well, I liked a lot of other things on Smallville. But I would agree that Michael Rosenbaum made the best Lex Luthor I've ever seen in live action.
Joe likes movies n stuff yep
Much better than the Eisenberg one.
great video thanks for doing this
My pleasure! Thank you for watching.
Great video man! Makes me miss Laura's version of Supergirl so much...
I know exactly how you feel. Laura is such an inspiration to me personally.
I wish they'd bring her back in the current Supergirl show.
Laura truly is a Real Life Supergirl at least to me.
ah that is amazing. That's for telling me about this. I hope you are doing good with your health too!
Laura was always such a great Supergirl Showed such a great strength, fierceness, confidence and wit that made her a force to be reckoned with. Yes, they could have used her a little more like helping Clark with the Kandorians in season 9, but she was a great part of the show overall.
Absolutely she was a great part of the show.
@@Joelikesmoviesnstuff Yes, one of the best I would say. There are some great parts with her in the Smallville season 11 comics. That I would love to see brought into the animated series that is coming out soon.
@@nickhydier1201 Do you think Laura Vandervoort would want to do the voice of Supergirl for an animated series?
@@Joelikesmoviesnstuff Yes, she has told me that she would totally love to be a part of a Smallville animated series or anything Smallville related. Due to Smallville having such a impact on her life/career and being such a great experience for her overall. So yes she certainly would.
@@nickhydier1201 That's awesome to know! Thanks for sharing.
I agree with all of your opinions . Vanderport she should play power-Girl on the current Supergirl series it would be great to see her again.
Thanks, Jonathan! If they could find a way to get her to play Power Girl, I'd be thrilled!
Power girl got big ass titties... I wish the girl eho jump out the cake in Under Siege movie wit Steven Sagal played power girl.
She was fantastic in this role, way underutilized, would’ve loved to have seen her more in the series! And hey why not some sort of arrow verse crossover appearance?
I've said this before: I'd like to see her play Power Girl on Superman and Lois!
Laura was one of the best things on SV as Supergirl. Was used just fine but could have been in a couple storylines, like Kandor in season 9. She was fantastic. My Supergirl.
I like her a lot as super girl. I wish CW kept the original actors in Smallville for the spin-offs.
Be honest, all of u in the comments prefer Laura as supergirl cos she's an absolute super hottie xD
For me it was the way she was written/acted and especially for the very interesting fact that Laura herself was actually born the very same year (1984) and even around the same time that the original Supergirl film with Helen Slater was first released.
xyr3s Yeah she is. Supergirl is supposed to be super sexy and Laura nailed it. The newest Supergirl is cute in a clumsy, girl next door kind of way
guy tremblay Exactly!Laura Vandervoort truly is Kara/Supergirl!
xyr3s I think their hotness is kinda a draw, but they put her in more skimpy things in Smallville; actor for actor, Vanderwoort had more depth & darkness to her delivery, but unfortunately the writers were getting worn out by the time she joined the show.
ricaard Dude there is absolutely no way that's a draw. Vanderwoort was waaaaaay hotter and while the costumes helped, they weren't the reason.
there have been several actresses to play Supergirl over the years, but Laura was the first and only so far that made me get excited and think, "YES!
You DID GREAT!! LOVE IT, THANK YOU.
Thanks so much, Puglandia! I'm really glad you like it.
It would have been nice to see her on Smallville longer than a season.
Absolutely! I agree.
She was in more than a season. A few episodes after.
That show is well blessed with lovely young ladies... and Laura V is absolutely GORGEOUS.... AH to be 30 years younger.. :)
I agree that Laura Vandervoort is an attractive young woman.
Yes, Laura is so gorgeous.
I love how she went away for a while and came back so much more mature.
Good point.
That's great, Nick!
Mark, here's a video in which Vandervoort explains the idea behind that photo th-cam.com/video/1f1JcuvO0mM/w-d-xo.html
Joe likes movies n stuff yes, that’s what I was referring to, I thought that that was a scene in Supergirl. Thank you

I love both, why does it always have to be one or the other? They are both amazing in their own way. This is from someone who was a hardcore Smallville fan too.
I agree 100%!
I'm sorry we do not see more of kara in smallville she is friendly and brave and handsome I wanted to see her supergirl play
I also wanted to see more of her on Smallville.
Yes u forgot to mention what happens to her in the season 11 comic book of smallville where Clark travels to the future and reunites with Kara and battle doomsday
That Smallville comic was canon, but I didn't get into that story in the video here. That's true.
Did you know Smallville continued as a comic? Her story with the legion continues there and it's pretty good.
Hi Vindoza. Yes, I read those comics. I agree, they were good!

She is awesome I would love to see her on another show as the lead
You mean any other show? She did have the lead role in a show called Bitten.
I know I mean since bitten is over I watched all three seasons
I think you have a good opinion of this version of Supergirl. This girl who played her was a knockout. It's obvious why they picked her. I still prefer todays supergirl to that one.
Hi DR. I like them both.
Good job. Nice one for the info.
Thanks, Kingbish. I'm glad you liked it.
Please do a video on the justice society from smallville love hearing your explanations
Thanks so much for watching. I’m really glad you enjoyed it… You’re the second person to comment saying you’d like to see me make a video about Smallville’s Justice Society episode(s). You are tempting me to start working on it sooner! :)
The Justice Society video is posted th-cam.com/video/-EhUlNsmLcQ/w-d-xo.html
The Justice Society got screwed hard on this show. One example is not knowing who Flash was. Since Bart already mentioned Barry, Jay and I think another one (Wally. It was Wally), they did not have a name for J.S's Flash. A few other inconsistencies made the Justice Society story kinda hard to follow.
Helen Slater plays Eliza (Kara's adoptive mother) in the modern Supergirl. Her career is so much DCTV!
Yes!
Lady Vandervoort is she who must not be named. She has devil eyes, they scareweey. I like the idea of her as Powergirl.
Who knows if they'll ever bring Power Girl on the new Supergirl show? I sure hope they do!
I miss this show it was so much greater than these others. I was a huge fan of this show and was so hurt they got rid of it and really wish they would bring it back with same cast members.
Well, the show did last 10 seasons. How many seasons would you have liked to see it last?
Smallville is far Superior than anything the WB is currently putting out. Wild isn't it.
You think so?
