Conner Kent is my favorite superboy and I really wished they were more scenes with Conner in Smallville but I am happy that Titans got Superboy back in to live action and they're doing a great job with his character
It's a fun idea, but he only had three scenes on Smallville... My initial thought is that seems hard to make a whole video out of three scenes... Maybe someday I could do a video about all Superman veteran actors to appear on the show (Christopher Reeve, Margot Kidder, Terence Stamp, Helen Slater, Marc McClure, Dean Cain, Teri Hatcher, etc) and then also mention actors I would have liked to have seen but never did. How does that sound?
@@Joelikesmoviesnstuff That's a good idea too. Personally, I thought Christopher Reeve was great in his scenes. Just his presence alone makes the scenes 10 times as big.
@@timrob12 Personally, I thought the first episode Reeve appeared on was much better than the second. That first episode really had a great scene with him. Then with the second episode, it was almost like the writers said "We don't need to give the scene special writing. Just getting Christopher Reeve to appear is enough"
I really liked Connor. I wish that Lex had been around to cause confusion. He had a similar struggle between wanting to be good and his Luthor genes tripping him up. I think that Lex vs Clark as fathers would have been great (though Clark didn't really seem to view Connor as his kid in Smallville.) I would have loved to see a Superboy series.
So Conner was a clone version of Superboy. Very interesting but a great story. But the viewers say this could be the clone version of Superboy when Superboy appeared in The Death Of Superman comics including the SNES game. Great story including the cast
@@Joelikesmoviesnstuff If they know that Conner is stronger than Superman, many people didn't know how he can fight or what's so ever. Even though he is a clone version of Superboy. Kent came from the planet Krypton and he became Super-boy. But Conner was the clone version of Superboy if he has the looks and his power like what happened in Smallville. Is not the same as in the original The Flash when a clone melted by himself the same as Louis And Clark when Superman melted himself. But for Conner, he was never melted because Lex created him using some DNA and other tissue examples to make a clone of Conner
0:22 - ME! Also, it might maybe be fun to do a video about Christopher Reeve's appearance on Smallville as it was a very special moment and, in my opinion, still the greatest DC cameo in any DC show ever.
I really liked what Smallville did with Conner. It was definitely unique but it also felt true to the character. But it kind of felt like the writers pivoted with the Alexander character and decided to make him Conner. The casting wasn’t perfect but it made sense since that actor had played young Lex in an earlier season. I also really liked when Clark basically adopted him and then he stayed with Martha like in the comics.
@@Joelikesmoviesnstuff Yes, I did. All of them are great! I've been watching your stuff since that video about Superboy TV show. I really appreciate that there's someone on YT talking about these older but still amazing comic book shows!
Thanks for the retrospective. I didn't mind the changes because in the comics even though it's meant to be the same character, the version of Superboy with the glasses and jacket and the one in the T-shirt and jeans felt like different people. The first felt like John Connor in T2, always running his mouth off, and the latter was this more serious jock/oaf kind of teenager. I always laugh about how he and the other Kryptonians get their heat vision in the same circumstances, plus if Lucas Grabeel looks like Young Lex with hair, does it mean Conner will grow up to look like Michael Rosenbaum with a full head of hair? I hope so!
Personally, the original Superboy was and is my favorite of all comic characters; lucked out in growing up with him in his own comic, in LSH comic, in his own cartoon series (reruns) and eventually his live action show (even saw a black & white 1950's Superboy pilot show). His being erased from Superman's past was the key reason I gave up on DC (especially when they brought him back as being from a "Pocket Universe" twin Earth, only to kill him in LSH). But it's still a great video. I learned a lot. I'd gotten out if comics ("new" ones) before this version of Superboy came out, though saw a few appearances of him when he was in the sunglasses and jacket (a hypertime arc) then caught glimpses of him in the t-shirt look after that. I honestly wasn't sure the two were the same character until this video. Also had been only catching the rare episode of Smallville by this point and had no idea he'd even been on. I'm gonna have to go back and catch some of these (comics and episodes).
Yeah, I love the original Superboy character as well. Geoff Johns did attempt to bring him back about ten years ago with those Secret Origins comics. That version made his way into some Adventure Comics (in which he teamed up with the Legion)... I don't know what year you were born, but in the early 80s there was another comic about that character (I believe it was called the New Adventures of Superboy) and it was pretty good... Then there was that Superboy TV show from 1988 to 1992, which had a short-lived comic (in direct continuity with the show). But the idea of that show was really to be "the years in between Superboy and Superman" focusing on him in college (they just used the name Superboy because that's what they had the rights to). In fact, they originally wanted it to just be another Superman TV show, and only made it "Superboy" because they didn't have the rights to Superman... I did make this video about that show: th-cam.com/video/nnfb5Nx0sM4/w-d-xo.html

So I'm wondering when & how did the Kryptonian "S" get added to the storyline... I know that Tom Welling didn't want to wear it, so it would be difficult for Clark to introduce it.
I would say: There was no one official moment when the "S" was first introduced. Around Season 3, Clark started seeing a lot of Kryptonian writing - much of which looked very similar to the "S" but not exactly the same. As seasons went on, we saw more and more Kryptonian writing that kept looking closer and closer to the "S." Whenever we technically saw it for the first time, it hardly felt like anything new (and I don't remember exactly when that was). But it would seem that your real answer is: there writers wanted there to always be a major step separating Clark from becoming Superman, they also had stories about other Kryptonians coming to Earth, and these writers just didn't know how to keep a consistency with their different stories.

Can you do Booster Gold on Smallville
I will consider that for the future. After all, I'm running out of of Smallville guest heroes to choose from... What did you think of this video about Superboy?
@@Joelikesmoviesnstuff the Superboy video was good
SUPERBOY IS THE MOST COOL CHARACTER
I'm a big fan!
& I `LOVE KRYPTO THE MOST MUCH
Did you enjoy seeing him in live action on Titans?
Or Blue Beetle on Smallville
I would have made him half lana/clark
😆
Somethings Red K doesn't turn you evil but releases your inhibitions as if you don't like rules. Also Superboy in comics was not a clone of Supes and Lex that was a retcon later. Superboy was a clone of the Guardian Paul Westfield.
In the comics, Red K does not always turn Kryptonians evil. But on Smallville, it did.
@@Joelikesmoviesnstuff A Red Kryptonite brings out the rebellious and immoral personality of Kryptonians and rids them of their inhibitions. The effects of a Red Kryptonite are likened to that of being under the influence of too much alcohol or narcotics, without the loss of physical capability. This is how Red K is to me.
What do you think of titans?
Titans has some good stuff!
@@Joelikesmoviesnstuff I watch titans and I didn’t like it at all it was too edgy and not the right tone for the teen titans in my opinion.
@@spider-manunknown9193 It also changes the character's stories a lot.
A , superboy,, Reboot, TV, Show,
Would you have liked that?
