  • As operational emissions in buildings are reduced, embodied carbon emissions from building material choices are becoming proportionally more significant. In June 2021, ZEBx released its third playbook in the Net-Zero Energy-Ready Playbook Series. It’s a collaboration with the UBC Sustainability Initiative and focuses on the lifecycle assessment (LCA) process to estimate the embodied carbon in buildings. Check out our latest video to supplement this playbook here.
    0:00 - Introduction
    3:49 - LCA Framework
    7:06 - LCA Parameters
10:17 - Choosing the LCA Tool
    13:29 - Interpretation and Reporting
To access the playbook, check out 'Planning Airtight Buildings' on the ZEBx.org website 'Resources' - or follow the link here: www.zebx.org/playbook-plannin...

Great video 👍🏻 does anyone know how is GWP calculated per year? I have seen total GWP results which i know are for a 50 year period i believe, per m2 ( this is standard for LCAs for buildings) but sometimes as architects we are being asked to describe our design as kgCO2e per m2 per year. How would that be calculated?

Good primer on LCA's. Noticed a few minor spelling mistakes in the slides ("Energey" and "Resule"?)

Most of LCAs videos are so boring but this was extremely engaging. It may be that such a beautiful eyes forced me to concentrate..? Thank you Ms Lopez!
