Giant Saltwater Barramundi, fishing the river. So many fish!

- You guys have asked for it on multiple occasions so here we are! Fishing the saltwater for barramundi. We are fishing the Fitzroy River in Rockhampton, Yeppoon area chasing barramundi on soft plastics. So many fish on the live sonar. Missed a few big fish and learnt so much.
This channel is about slow jigging metal jigs for big red emperors in places like Yeppoon through to Giant Trevally GT on topwater lures on the Great Barrier Reef. My "Saltwater Fishing" channel is all about teaching tips and techniques to help you catch more fish. Mixed in will be some snapper fishing techniques and lure fishing tips for estuary fishing. From my years of tournament fishing, I have learned to pay attention to detail, and the small things make a difference in catching a couple of fish or a lot of fish.

@@SilvestersSaltwaterFishing slow roll soft vibes & big soft plastics, the catfish just pulverise it. Never any Barra though. I havnt seen one there for 7yrs
Caught a some nice barra there the other week mate and one big threadfin, if thats what you are calling catfish

Woo I only just saw this video!! Awesome mate that Fitzroy river looks like a ripper of a system, I've seen the Pascoe boys videos before they get some mammoths. The tranx is great hey, I haven't got a 300 but I've got a 150hg and 200a and they're very tough and reliable. I've actually put a longer handle (120mm I think) on the 200a and it makes for a beautiful slow rolling reel. Anyway thanks for another great video mate and I liked the music over Jelena's commentary haha. Good onya Jelena for getting amongst it 👍🏻🎣
Yep i have the 150 as well, very happy with them. Fitzroy is incredible mate, so many barramundi. I was waiting for someone to comment about the music over her commentary. I found that audio by accident and couldn't help myself.

I’m not sure. I’m 47 and lived in the central highlands most of my life. It’s what the adults called them back then in the 80’s & early 90’s. We used to go to all the fishing competitions in the dams/lakes, like lake maraboon (emerald) and others around the highlands. It’s just something I’ve continued to say, although I don’t know why but it really stirs up some people. If eating I prefer a salty but if I’m out west I don’t mind nibbling on a freshy. I’d rather a yellow belly or jewfish (eel tailed catfish) over a Barra
haha awesome mate, i don't get offended by it but yep a lot of guys that mainly fish salt hate the freshys like they think its easier or something. I think its definitely the salty guys that get a bit salty about the comparison 😂😂
