I’m always amazed how hard it is to make holes in a tire when you want to but the rustiest piece of wire or nail will find a way

It's the speed my friend. At 70-80 mph at 80000lbs when the tire slams on a piece of metal on the road it just has to go through. I've driven my semi on construction sites and seen millions of nails, bolts and scrap. Never once had a problem, I just make sure to check that none of them are stuck before I get back on the road. But smallest fucking pieces of metal were able to go through at high speeds. Luckily they just slowly went flat. Never had a steer tire explode, only happened twice on trailer tires. Still not pleasant, but I've seen what happens when a steer tire explodes, it's nasty.

Enjoy watching. You do it same as I do. Nice to watch trucker do his own work. Most owner operators don’t even know how to put air in tires. Always carry long air hose in truck that hooks to glad hand. Love your shows hard working man. Cujos to you my friend. Always learn stuff watching you. Not all the drama like a lot of trucking utubers. That gets old quick. Don’t make any changes. Love your videos. Love that new cat engine. Even though had cummins since 1978. Still do. Take care.

Ur next patch u should put it so the arrows point to the beads there's little belts in the patch that should run the same way as the belt plys in the tire I like to jam a plug in the hole to keep water and dirt from rusting out the steel belts

I bought one of those dismount bars when I had my truck and trailers to do my tire work and it worked great. It was a a lot faster than the two tire irons. I guess if you just do one it's not a big deal, but when you do all twelve on a trailer it was nice to have. Also I didn't realize it was called stitching when you roll the patch. I guess I done it wrong all this time. 😂😂

Many years ago whe I first left school 1986 my first job was in a tyre shop and I fixed many a lorry tyre like this I remember fixing one and as I inflated the tyre I heard a creaking noise and a big buldge appeared in the side wall I shit it and ran it was at about 90 lbs and then a big bang when I returned it had blown itself across the workshop a d had a big hole in the side wall then after a few seconds all the light tubes in the workshop started to fail till I was in the dark .

sometimes it is very satisfying doing tire work. i put the cement on both parts. i figured it was kind of like contact cement and bonded when each side contacted each other with the absents of air....like you, i doubt it matters. nice to see you again.

Patch-plug combination "these are a pain to use." Yes I definitely have to agree I've used a lot of them and they suck you have to make a hole in the tire and then sit there FOREVER and rub this thin pice of plastic until it comes off and it sucks I will keep that in mind and use the other things next time I patch a tire thanks!
