Their last costume was inspired by we so called "Sarimanok" a legendary bird of Maranao people in the island of Mindanao
No,there are 3 Costumes
First is the "Filipiñana Inspired" for Womans and "Barong Inspired" for Mens
The Second Costume is the "PHILIPPINE FLAG INSPIRED"
And the last is "SARIMANOK INSPIRED" and they have Skirt,that Feather inspired from the Sarimanok
BUT THEIR THEME IS "COMEBACK TO PHILIPPINES"

7:40 Chearleading and Cheerdance somehow different, this UAAP is cheerdance competition so they also evaluate their dance moves, steps and routine :)
their theme is philippines, if you notice, the first formation is the philippine flag, theres a part were they make a sun with 8 lines, which also in the philippine flag and the 8 lines symbolizes the provinces who fought for our freedom and the three stars formation, symbolizes the luzon, visayas and mindanao

The first formation is the Philippine flag (triangle with line in the middle)🇵🇭 The star that your talking about is a sun not a star☀️ on our flag and the next formation with the Liberty 🗽 formation where the boys lie down in a star the stars represents Luzon,Visayas,and Mindanao and it is in the flag too ⭐️
They’re costumes are representing the Barong at Saya(Traditional clothes but there’s is modern) ,Philippine Flag,and Mindanao(Sarimanok) because they’re Theme is sarimanok 🐓obviously,And in they’re first formation which is the flag they have they’re hand on their left chest side and thats what we do when we sing our National Anthem “Lupang Hinirang” and yaa thats it🤗 I hope you learned a lot of facts about NU PEP SQUAD (NATIONAL UNIVERSITY)and Their Performance

i think they dont do crazy dance moves or give all their energy on the dance moves bcoz they are saving energy for the stunts. Just my opinion.
So Many like that in the Philippines. Try to find in TH-cam the Cheering squad compatition. I watched it when I was 11 years old in Philippines Camarines sure. They use drums to make a music.

This is just weird to watch, there have been full reactions of not just this but other teams as well with full music but you kept on doing reactions with videos w/o or w/ dismal music in them. What gives? Dunno if you're doing it on purpose to avoid copyright claims but you could at least acknowledge it and quit saying it'd be better if there's popular music in it, that the dance looked flimsy because of it and whatnot. Also, this is not just cheerleading, it's cheerdancing and so they get penalized for dance moves as well.
