  • As stylish eBikes go it's pretty hard to beat The Scout which is called the Cheetah in the U.S. I got my hands on one for 24 hours and here is my thoughts on this very stylish ebike.

    Hi Grant, I visited NZ recently and saw some interesting electric cruiser bikes. I couldn't believe it when I found your excellent review of the scout. It's only 6 weeks ago that we were in Arrowtown on a 4x4 tour with Matt from Offroad 4x4 Queenstown, he lives in Arrowtown, a great tour which included Skippers Canyon.
    I'm keen to source a Scout/Cheetah in UK but as yet there are no dealers here. There is one in Germany called Varaneo, I'm not yet sure of the motor power but I expect it will be less powerful than your 750 test bike due to European regulations.
    Thanks again for your great review video. Steve.

    I didn't notice a rear brake/tail light under the saddle or on back fender? with a suspension fork option and an integrated brake/taillight this bike would be dope. For the lack of said items It gets an B+ or 4.3 of 5 imo. Nice video and beautiful area you live in, thanks mate.

    I have had one of these for about a year and a half that I bought direct from the Chinese factory for $875. I put Apehanger handlebars on it and the leather saddle bags from my motorcycle and turned it into the coolest bike on Catalina Island. I built a trailer for it to pull my oldest Golden Retriever and my two younger Goldens run along side it.

    I have a fat-tire e-bike and love it. Did some additions and "adjusted" its' looks to suit my tastes and I am really happy with the way it turned out. I really love the civi Cheetah, and a bike shop in my area carries them but.... no suspension. This is the only thing that prevents me from buying this bike. I am in PA., and our roads are bad to say the least! The fat-tires are not enough to make for a fairly good ride. My current bike has front susp. and I installed a sprung seat which makes the ride pretty good even on the rougher roads. Really cool bike though!

    I love my Cheetah. I did put on a shock absorbing seat post which is a game changer on more rough terrain. It performs much better than I anticipated and holds a charge fantastically. I ride mine about 15 miles a day with ease in a hilly terrain. The peddle assist can also run separate from the throttle which is nice in you need to take the edge off of a very steep hill. I highly recommend this bike.

    Hi Grant, I got my Cheetah about a month ago (750W motor) and I love it. You're dear right about the questions. I went out 2 days and stopped to call my friend....
    Me : Hey man ! I'll meet you in front of Sam's in 5 minutes !
    Him : OK. I'll be there.
    That's when Person 1 (post-phone call) stops and asks about the bike - where I bought it, the price, saying how cool it looks etc... This goes on for 2 minutes and they leave. I start preparing to leave again and Person 2 stops in to tell me how nice the design is and asks if it is powered. We have a short discussion on electric bikes and the retro design and he leaves. I'm really antsy and figure I'm going to miss my friend when Person number 3 stops just as I'm getting on the bike.. He says " I just wanted to tell you how cool your bike looks ! " I thank him and head out. I make it to Sam's and call my friend. Luckily, he was running late too. I get comments and questions all the time. At the moment I have the only retro-style ebike in the area that I've seen, but I think that is about to change. Be prepared to be the center of attention when you stop depending on where you live.

    I'm gonna get avintage look e bike soon. And it's probably b this one. The greaser is very similar. But too clunky, chunky and heavy. Vintage electric do amazing bikes. Slightly better. But they want at least £5000.
    This is very good value for money. You get a great looking bike. It goes anywhere. And it saves your legs. I have a health condition that limits my energy greatly. So 75% of time I will use its electric motor.
    But for £2300 or so. Very good bike.
    It has a ww2 Germany army look.
    If u rode this in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, u would not get anywhere. Cause folk would regularly be stopping you with questions, compliments.

    • @AmariMarvelous
      @AmariMarvelous 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The most an ebike can go is 28 mph as a class 3 which is fast considering most ebikes go up to 20-25 mph. You have some ebikes that can go up to 50 mph like the Delfast Top 3.0 and some that can go above 60 even going into the 90 Territory but at that point you would have to register those ebike in your state.
