The acting on these are phenomenal. You can really glean some semblance of individual personalities in the audio logs.
Mark Stanton is the kind of office guy at your job that seemingly picks fights with people about things and becomes the 'office Karen', filing reports against coworkers if anything doesn't go his exact way.
Paul Simons talks as if he's been a network admin for at least 30 years. He's probably the most, or at least second most, skilled person in his department. he level of expertise is extensive, and he's genuinely stumped at the network intrusion. It's clearly the 'worst' security event he's ever seen in his life.
Jack Smith hates the nature of his job, developing PTSD from reading all the gory and brutal accident reports, and you can hear a shiver when he talks about the fact that the machine is clearly possessed. He's probably been up for 2 days since recording the log, and doesn't have any energy.
Walter Connors is an egoist who hides the fact that he's an incompetent boob with buttery language and being a suckup to his boss. He avoids speaking in technical specifics, only saying "I did this", and never elaborating.
Henry Nelson is a candid, laid back boss who knows and trusts his entire team to do their work without leering over their shoulder. How he speaks about them likely indicates he's close enough to be drinking buddies, and he seeks his crew as good family.
Paul Radd is an extremely, by-the-books and stern supervisor, but like Henry, he can be warm and supportive to his people when needed, showing he actually cares about them over results if it comes down to choosing.
Theresa Chasar is obviously annoyed that everyone is simping over her, being only one of about half a dozen women on Mars.
Ron Ridge is all about efficiency, timeliness, and results based on how fast he speaks, losing patience with the holdups in shipping.
Seamus Blake is clearly proud of his work on streamlining his department's repair process, but is upset people are a little too dense to understand how to use it. He probably created an "It's easy for me" system, without considering the needs of others.
Charles Hollies, being the director for the Environment team, is likely putting on a façade of 'calm', and has trained himself to speak that way given he meets regularly with the UAC board and Mars Council, who clearly only care about results. You can tell by the pauses he's slightly uncomfortable and is very aware of what's going on, but never shows it in the recording.
Peter Raleigh is incredibly intelligent, sparing no deteail, and clearly outlining every last bit of research he can find, a man dedicated to making sure his job is done right.
Simon Garlick is obviously fucking terrified. :)

To be fair to Mark Stanton, his job was on the line. It's literally his position to make sure everything going in and out of Mars City is safe and properly delivered to the correct location.

Mark Stanton is fine. Anyone can become an 'office Karen' when circumvented in their basic functions. Like he said, it's _his job,_ and an important job at that; he shouldn't ever be kept out of the loop. Imagine if something catastrophic hazardous, illegal or both just passed by because the cargo manifesto wasn't checked, who do you think would be squarely blamed for?

Kyle Berger is so casual about the accidental death of one of his staff, one wonders what other accidents have happened, or how frequently they occur that he isn't really fazed by it. I mean, come on--an employee backed into an active particle beam and lost half his brain, dying after a few minutes.

I don’t care what anyone says - Doom 3 was an awesome game and does not deserve the bad rap that it gets. The creepy atmosphere, the disturbing sound effects, the frightening visuals…all of it makes for a massively engaging horror experience that makes you feel like you’re right there on the base. And the audio logs just make the game that much more immersive.
I really wish id had continued with this style of gameplay, as I always envisioned this to be exactly what a demonic invasion would look and feel like. Doom 2016 is fun and all, but it just feels like a next gen rehash of the first two doom games. And Eternal…sorry but that game is god awful. They went way off the rails in terms of story and gameplay there.
I’d love to see a return to this style in their next doom game.

There was no bad rap during Doom 3 lifetime. It was generally praised with only one universal criticism about being unable to hold flashlight and gun at the same time. The bad rap only came prior to the release of Doom 2016. It was a retcon attempt by bots, Reddit babies and bandwagon riders to make the old game worse so the new game looks better. You can see this tactic everywhere during those times. Just look at how new Star Wars trilogy smeared old Star Wars trilogy prior to the release of The Force Awaken.

Y'know, Doom would be a very good source for an analog horror series. Well maybe not analog since Doom takes place in the future. But out of any game that could be used as a basis for a Doom horror series, it should be Doom 3. There are a ton of accidents mentioned in the PDAs that could be turned into their own little videos. Doom 3 also feels the most horror-esque out of any other Doom gane

I really miss this style of Doom game, I mean 2016 and eternal were fun but it felt it was trying to hard to be edgy and badass and just came off really goofy, I also loved that you played a different marine each time showing not all of them were just dumb throwaways without plot armor and could survive if smart, careful and in some cases lucky enough to survive the nature of the attack. It's probably in my opinion the most faithful DooM game and the horror and world building really helped the game feel so terrifying and realistic in some ways especially the audio logs and emails.

I think the tension the logs could have provided to the game was a missed opportunity; I've yet to beat the game, so I don't know if something like this happens:
They could've had a twitching hand surrounded by blood and gore holding a PDA with an in progress log still being recorded when you pick it up. Then, the Doom Marine picks it up, stops the recording, and starts playing it back automatically. The log is of a guy who is hearing things and is horribly scared for his life (although, even if his life ends, he still wants to do something worthy of the history books, which is to provide a firsthand experience from someone living this nightmare; and future bored-out-of-their-mind children will call him "the one guy who wanted to be in a history book"). The deep growls of a Hell Knight interrupt him and he screams before being quieted with the loud, gushy sounds of guts and flesh being painted across the walls. The demon is heard tearing its way through metal and silence takes over. Suddenly, as if God, or Satan, has perfect dramatic timing, the Hell Knight reappears before you. Now, you must fight.

Sorry that this is slightly off-topic, but is anyone aware of an issue where they are unable to play the second audio file? For instance, Mark Caseon has "High Incidence of Psychological..." and "Patient Attack". For some reason, I can only play the first file. I'm playing the PS4 BFG Edition and I don't remember having this problem when I played the game on Xbox back in the day: Nothing I do works to cycle through to the next track.

Doom 3 was the first game I played with audio logs, and to this day the only one where they actually sound and feel like things people would actually record

WOW! Great job dude how long did it take you to make this video? Like colecting all the logs, editing and all?

Excellent video. Love the effort you put into this. However, you really should've included the video discs that featured storyline-related dialogue, such as Ian McCormick's. It would've made this upload more complete.

I also just noticed you forgot to feature the audio log of Seth Killian.

Seth Killian's PDA is from the Resurrection of Evil expansion, this video includes audio logs from the main game only :)
