    I think with direct drive becoming more popular among consumers and sim companies, prices will become more competitive and affordable. Excited for what sim racing will become in next few years.

    • @MaximZharov
      @MaximZharov ปีที่แล้ว

      It is absolutely gonna become more affordable because of higher concurrency! Not only dd but all the stuff such like cockpits, pedals, displays etc.. Even gpu must be cheaper! But the only problem today we cant say what is gonna be tomorrow, and yes, it is quite interesting to look in next few years😅

    • @mako4874
      @mako4874 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah i think prices iwill come down sharply in a couple of years. dash wheels are at the moment- way overpriced- given their tech versus a phone is far inferior- theyre basically the price of a direct drive system at the moment- where the "value" although impossible to gauge- should come down to about 500 euro i thik when its all said and done- and u compare it to similar tech/devices / gadgets that serve a similar function. fingers crossed.
      but then simucube comes along and totally ass fucks the economy with a rip off pedal set

  • @samgendler
    @samgendler ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It would surely be amazing to get an opportunity to try gear out prior to spending large sums on it, but that experience needs to be more accessible. Despite my interest in sim racing, having been to a few motorsport events over the years, I know I would generally prefer to watch them via a TV feed, but if I knew that major race events near me would have a wide selection of sim racing vendors offering demos, I would most definitely be heading to the local racetrack for major events. I suppose it is too niche a market to make traveling with race series a realistic option for the small vendors that operate in the space, but it would be so nice not to be buying hardware without ever getting a chance to use it. I can't help but think it might turn a lot of motorsport fans onto sim racing, too. My father in law, for example, is hugely into car racing but knew absolutely nothing about computer games or sim racing until he heard about my rig. He still hasn't experienced it, but I bet his first visit since I set my rig up is gonna end up costing him thousands!

    • @mako4874
      @mako4874 ปีที่แล้ว

      i agree- the industry dosent have a store here in australa to just simply try products and compare. would love a eb games- but just with sim rigs, wheel bases, wheels, pedals, etc- from various brands and even some indie labels. its just impossible to know what ur getting 100% - and relying on reviewers. its why i reckon the resell market is so saturated. people buy and regret soon after.
      big gap there i reckon. in asia/ taiwan and thailand there are a few that ive visited and theyre incredible. but tbh rely on the passion ( and wealth ) of a few individuals to put it up for the community as the profits for reselling arent much- given most buy online. the store i went to in thailand was just a rich kid who decided to have a shop with all his passion.
