    Thank you veeeery much! "It's easier to learn something if a person show it right in front of you and you can repeat all the steps for yourself" And very well done, calm voice, not a single advertisement and no "fishy-flashy screen / bassdrop"-stuff. Amazing :D

    It's so crazy when you have an issue with something and then find a tutorial on how to do it right and you realize you were always two or three steps away from the right answer. Thanks for this fam

    I appreciate how easy this tutorial is. Thank you. Your covering fixing of clipping also had the side effect of allowing me to deal with some issues with other armors that I'd long since given up on.

    PLEASE POST QUESTION TO THE MOD PAGE, NOT HERE. I'm not the mod author, and really dont know how to fix any problems :( You're more likely to get the help you need if you post on the nexus mod page! Thanks for understanding :)
    I missed a step at around the 4min mark, the mod author says when you reload the default reference, you need to check "Merge new sliders with existing sliders" on the dialogue. Sorry for missing this step in the video. This will preserve the helper references custom sliders (like the nipple compensation slider) If you missed it it shouldn't be a big deal, but if your outfit still looks a little odd after using your body preset it would be a good idea to redo it using this step. Again, apologies for the misstep!

      You could add (i don't know what they are called) some text into the video that highlights this point, but if people can read important messages then it should be fine^^

    • @reematheroamer8726
      @reematheroamer8726  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TH-cam used to have little bubbles you could add called annotations. Unfortunately I guess they were removed, because I could not find any way to add text using the youtube editor unless I want to add captions which a lot of people never enable so they'd probably miss it anyway. The only way i could fix this (that i know of) is to add the text in a video editing program and completely reupload the whole thing as a new video, which would be a pain. Overall its one of those things that its okay to miss, its not gonna break your game or anything. And if someone doesnt see this and their outfit looks weird, they'll probably come into the comments to ask for help anyway.

    When I fix the clipping and export to nif, it doesn't actually save. I have the option and no error messages, it just doesn't do it.
    Edit: tried it again and it saves and displays the correct version in outfit studio, but the preview in bodyslide doesn't have any of the changes even though I have restarted it several times.

    Also, a question: if I am editing an armor piece (torso, obviously) which does not have a cbbe body under it at all, do I still have to copy bone weights after deleting the UniBody reference? I mean I clearly don't have to put CBBE body into it, since it was not there to begin with. My question stems from not really understanding what these bone weights are copied to and from.

    Wonderful tutorial. Very easy to follow, especially, for a noob like myself. I got the area of the armor adjusted to the way I like it, however, the feet extend past the bottom of the footwear and the footwear has high heels. I tied using cbbe with high heels, but that has the angle of the foot at a sharper angle than the footwear. Do you know how I can fix this?

    Great tutorial! I have some basic understanding of OS, so please correct me if I'm wrong. The same results can be achieved by loading the helper reference directly into an existing project file, provided there's already an osp file available? If I'm not mistaken, all sliders in an osp should be zeroed if it's done properly?

    • @reematheroamer8726
      @reematheroamer8726  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not too sure as I've never tried doing it that way. This tutorial was made based on the instructions the mod author posted. But if this works for you and doesn't cause any problems, go for it lol

    • @Xer0neman1a
      @Xer0neman1a 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@reematheroamer8726 Thanks for the reply! :) yeah loading the ref body in a existing or premade project file works too. I've been playing with OS in the past a couple of weeks, and I think I now have a much better understanding of how this application works. The way you did it works perfectly fine as long as the loaded nif is of zeroed slider shape, otherwise the outfit will need a little bit "reshaping" since a properly made reference is and should always be set to zeroed sliders. The outfits we download from mod authors are in many cases made with the base CBBE body ref, which is of course a zeroed slider shape, but there're exceptions. If one has used bodyslide to customize their outfit shapes, the nif's in the Data\Mesh folder are no longer in the zeroed slider shape. They'll need to either import the nif's from BodySlide\ShapeData or just open the OSP files which load the corresponding nif and go from there.

  • @stephanjones5745
    @stephanjones5745 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I installed the helper references using Vortex. I checked the file structure and all the files are where they are supposed to be. When I start up OS, the new "Helper" references do not show up in the references pull down. I tried doing it manually by loading references "from File" instead of "from Template" but the sliders did not load in the sliders section of OS. I was able to form the outfit to the body by adjusting the mesh volume but I did something wrong along the way and the outfit does not change with the body sliders when I load it up in Bodyslide...
    I am wondering how to make OS recognize the new "Helper" refs so I can easily access them with the pulldown tab. If I could do that, this step by step would most likely work perfectly.

    • @reematheroamer8726

      If you've been installing with a mod manager, a good step would be to install it manually (download it manually, then unpack and click and drag to the data folder). Also go into data>tools>bodyslide>shapedata and check if there's a folder that says CBBE Helper References. If there's not, it didn't install correctly.
      If it still doesnt show up after manually installing it, then the problem might be with bodyslide and you should uninstall it and reinstall it.

    Unfortunately for me, I have followed these steps multiple times yet once I get to the mesh editing, I can only expand or shrink the mesh of the reference helper, I am completed unable to adjust the meshes of the outfit. The brush tool only affects the helper nif no matter which layer is selected.
    I don't expect you to have a solution, but I have zero idea why and can't find anything about it. That said, if you have seen that before, help a brother out please!

    • @reematheroamer8726
      @reematheroamer8726  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check the top right and make sure you don't have the reference body selected. at 2:51 if you look at the top right, you can see that the mesh called "gamepants" is highlighted, and I'm able to edit that.
      If you do have the outfit selected, but you're still only able to effect the reference body, unfortunately I don't know how to help you. If this occurs when editing any mesh (ie, under files, click "open outfit" and load any outfit nif file and try to edit from there) then you might want to post your problem on the outfit studio nexus page.

      I was having this also and started to watch for it and then note where it was, save and exit, then tweak the area real quick and go back to the game. It's even more apparent if you add physics or remove physics. Your cups might overflow with newly added physics. (wah wah wah :-P )

      I'm not the mod creator, and unfortunately I'm not knowledgeable enough to answer your question entirely. You might find more help on the mod page if you post a comment about your problem.
      The most I can help is by saying i've experienced this myself without using this reference and it's more a bodyslide issue than anything. I think it can happen if your character's "body type" (in the character creation menu) is not in the center of the triangle.

    I know Reema isn't all that active here, but I was wondering if anyone could help me with around the 2:30 mark. Everytime I delete the CBBE body the unibody underneath just doesn't fill out the outfits. Which just screws up the preset builds as the clothes just hovers over the body.
    Advice would be appreciated.

    • @reematheroamer8726
      @reematheroamer8726  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, you'd probably need the CBBE Vanilla outfits conversion file, since the uniboob thing is meant for CBBE and not the vanilla body. I believe you can find that on the CBBE files page on the nexus. Once you have that, it's basically the same process as a modded outfit.
      Vanilla clothes and armor are located in either data/meshes/clothes or data/meshes/armor.
