  • I often have people ask me about getting Oscar cichlids. These fish grow very fast and they can grow to be very large, and are not appropriate for many aquariums due to their size.

    • @gemini.aquatics
      @gemini.aquatics 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dee Gibbs yayaya that’s great... you can try feeding them flakes, that is what I’m feeding my Oscar until they’re grown enough to consume pellets. You can also try and feed them some blood worms for some good protein. Its just a process of trying different things 👍🏻👍🏻good luck let me know how everything goes!

      @@gemini.aquatics thx hun I have dry worms and shrimps tell me if that's cool

    • @gemini.aquatics
      @gemini.aquatics 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dee Gibbs I think that dried worms is a great option, as for the shrimp I know live shrimp is good for them so I would assume that the dried shrimp will also be a great option. Just keep in mind these are usually more as a snack for the oscars (side meal) and you don’t want to feed them this forever. So once in a while try to throw in the pellets to try and get them more compatible to eating that. But sounds great to me so far :) good luck, let me know if you need more help lol

    You feed them that much and theyll definitely grow that fast lol but your right a 40 breeder will last maybe 2 or 3 years if you buy small feed every couple days but it will need over 125 gallons at least once its fully grown it can be in a 20 if you have plans for it but remember this fish will require 100s of gallons within just a couple years great fish though!
