Most Captains make players, he made the whole team(if you know what i mean - 2000 Scandal). Thats why Dada is so much respected among the Cricket community, specially the players you mentioned. They were the ones who helped Indian Team win the 2011 Wolrd Cup.

Dada had not advantage of computer analysis, graphic video analytics. It was introduced while last stages of captaincy. Yet they were not able to switch with precision. While What Dhoni had in terms of data analysis, video analytics, other Australian teams, england had already done this during Dada times. Ganguly was going to gun fight with a knife so I will give him more credit than Dhoni. Yeah Dhoni is good but not take place of Ganguly

Dada has earned respect which no other captain has earned till date...I can still recall the day when he had come to Patna to play a match against Bihar just before his entry to the Indian team..He had scored 40 odd runs in second inning and he had hit a pull shot and that shot is still so vivid in my memories .

When I think about Harbhajan, he is 2nd highest vicket taking bowler in India.He had lot of cricket remaing with him ,was foreced to leave,maybe he made mistakes,diverted his attention to entertainment sector,but should have Got a respectful farewell.Dhoni whatever may be great player or captain but certainly responsible for disrespctful lay off of likes of Sehwag,yovraj and Bhaji.

i think it was year 1999 sachin was captain and Sourav vice captain for Australia, in a tour match Sourav captained for some moments. Darrel Hair was umpire. On particular appeal Darrel declined and Sourav was looking at big screen. Hair said something to Sourav, and Sourav gave him back. That was moment I knew he is A LEADER.

AS a 80s kid let me tell the young fans now. Like Bhajji said, you cant even beleive how tough 1999-2000 was as a Cricket fan. Parents used to curse kids who were watching cricket as though its sin. We couldnt trust any match we saw. Many of my friends were moving out of cricket. We didnt know what to do because heart was with Cricket.
Ganguly was ridiculed by many as Prince who wont bend down to pick the ball. We all thought it was the worst decision to make him captain. But little did we know that Dada knew what he was doing. In 2000, he took us to the Final of Champions Trophy with his young team after beating SA and Aussies. The final was nearly in our hand. But whats bigger than the result was that he brought Cricket back to India.
Wish there was a movie on him to show the people what he is to Indian cricket.
