He could have the Supreme Court judges eliminated if he had total immunity, let that sink in judges!
The SC rules against him more than once, so it's quite possible he would eliminate them. Or eliminate the court altogether.

They are doing this to buy time for Trump- they delayed the start and now won't rule until June at the earliest. This pushes the other Trump trials past the election - mission accomplished for the fascists.
They had little choice really, as once they rule that presidents do not have absolute immunity (and they will) then the decision will have been made.
Otherwise if it was not and the American public were stupid enough to vote criminal defendant Trump back into the White House again, he will just act as if he does have it because nobody will have ruled otherwise and one way to ensure he does have it will be to do away with the SCOTUS that can hold him accountable for his actions.
So they are effectively deciding on their own futures or lack of.

Coney Barrett, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, Alito and Thomas need to be recused over this particular decision. The first three are Trump nominations making a landmark ruling like this when brought by Trump and his legal team, and the last two need to be removed for corruption and being on the take.
