Tip: I had a spider vein on my bicep when I was in my 20s. I had it treated with electrolysis. It’s a tiny needle that is inserted in the skin and causes thermal damage to the spider vein. It’s redness vanished instantly. The vein calcified and was massaged away. It never returned…been 40 years….no scar either.

Dark circles under the eyes are actually bruises caused by leaky veins. My mom has had good luck taking horse chestnut as directed on the bottle, to strengthen the walls of those veins and stop the bruising. So, if the bruise cream Chris talks about helps get rid of the actual bruise, the horse chestnut is the other puzzle piece to stop that bleeding at its source for my mom.

So I had the laser treatment done 1 time around my nose because I've had terrible spider veins since my early 20s. I had a pretty bad experience! Procedure itself was extremely painful and I ended up getting painful blisters blisters the next day that lasted, literally months. When the blisters finally started to fade, I ended up having scars. 5 years later and I still have indented scars under and around my nostrils. Initially they said I'd probably need 3 or 4 treatments to remove the veins completely, but I was so scared after my first I never went back. It was awful, I wouldn't recommend it.

Hi Chris. Thanks for valuable information. What do you think of electrocautery treatment for broken spider veins on the face? Is it safe and efficient long term? Thank you 🙏
I got those red veins on my cheeks after unknowingly using Retinol while getting laser treatments, and no one asked if I was using Retinol products, and I had no idea. I had laser done every week. It took me 4-5 months for the bulk of it to disappear. I probably have to wait a few more months for whatever's left to go away.
I've had IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and removed most of the thread veins, but I found when I learned how to use the Plasma Pen with an acupuncture needle then once numb, drawing over them was better and can improve on when the IPL makes some of them look worse. Instead of doing dots, you draw over the top with a low setting to reduce the chance of bleeding, but it can still happen anyway. Applying pressure for a minute solves this, but I recommend leaving this to those with lots of experience. It then must be left for 6 - 8 weeks between treatments and is a highly skilled thing to do.

Red laser light has been shown to improve collagen production and hair growth...so you might see some improvement from a thicker dermis layer but it's not productive for everyone. Laser therapy is best...and sun protection. I found some personal improvement with the dermaroller and of course there is microneedling.
Hey Chris I got a few broken veins both sides on my nose a few months ago (the large, long red ones) . Since then several new ones have appeared on my cheeks, nose even under my lips. These are mosty red dots or smaller spider veins, except around and in my nose. Those ones are the 'real' long veins. (situation is not so bad for now but...) So, in my early twenties I got UVA therapy for my alopecia and have been sunbathing every summer for hours casually. That's my first tip why I have them now. I'm 38 now. Due the covid I've been in home office for a year and still are and smoking a lot. So I guess these two could be the reason why I got them. 2 questions: 1. They'll be continue to spreading and new ones appear until I quit smoke? (no more sun tho) 2. Any chance of they go away by their own? ( I'm afraid of your answear, but you know, hope...) I know, ipl, laser, etc could be the solution but here only one threatment is $350 for full face and 3-4 needed as far as I know. So 4 = $1400. And repeating it every 6 or 12 months because of new veins? Hell no... Or any suggestion how to prevent them for sure? Anything. Thank you very much if you answer ^^
@@rosendoservin8234 Well, I wouldn't say it's all because smoking. In my opinion, high blood pressure (by anxiety and depression), lots of sunbathing, low immunity system, smoking and white skin+blue eyes (genetic) caused this. I haven't been to an ipl therapy yet, so this is just guess. But they don't spread too much since I chenged a few things from the listed belov. So, I think the reason was all together I mentioned. Now, just need to minimlize them somehow.
Yes, there are risk factors, like: - Sun - alcohol - smoking - lack of movement (exercises) - high blood pressure - anxiety, depression - improper diet - lack of sleep/rest - too much spice, spicy foods (causes high blood pressure in the facial veins) - injuries, skin trauma, strong wind or extreme cold These are the most common triggers, the more you having of them, the more chances you have to get broken veins. But could be anything that can cause blood circulation disorder. If you solve that, no more veins will appear. Long story short, live as healthy as you can.

Due the covid I've been in home office for a year and still are and smoking a lot.
So I guess these two could be the reason why I got them.
2 questions:
1. They'll be continue to spreading and new ones appear until I quit smoke? (no more sun tho)
2. Any chance of they go away by their own? ( I'm afraid of your answear, but you know, hope...)
I know, ipl, laser, etc could be the solution but here only one threatment is $350 for full face and 3-4 needed as far as I know. So 4 = $1400. And repeating it every 6 or 12 months because of new veins? Hell no...
Or any suggestion how to prevent them for sure? Anything.
Thank you very much if you answer ^^
What happened was it the smoking ???
@@rosendoservin8234 Well, I wouldn't say it's all because smoking. In my opinion, high blood pressure (by anxiety and depression), lots of sunbathing, low immunity system, smoking and white skin+blue eyes (genetic) caused this. I haven't been to an ipl therapy yet, so this is just guess. But they don't spread too much since I chenged a few things from the listed belov.
So, I think the reason was all together I mentioned. Now, just need to minimlize them somehow.
The usual culprit: The Sun 🥺
Booze, smoking & the sun are terrible for your skin. Look at anyone who avoids all 3, & their skin is usually great.
Yes, there are risk factors, like:
- Sun
- alcohol
- smoking
- lack of movement (exercises)
- high blood pressure
- anxiety, depression
- improper diet
- lack of sleep/rest
- too much spice, spicy foods (causes high blood pressure in the facial veins)
- injuries, skin trauma, strong wind or extreme cold
These are the most common triggers, the more you having of them, the more chances you have to get broken veins. But could be anything that can cause blood circulation disorder. If you solve that, no more veins will appear. Long story short, live as healthy as you can.

I rarely see this as a cause but bad creams can create broken blood vessels.
If we eat healthier will these go away?

I get horrible migraines, I have broken veins on my face from many times of nausea. 😕
My neurologist put me on the shots that you take once a month. It has helped me so much ☺️. You should ask yours if they think it will help. The only side affect I get is a rash at the injection site. But it only lasts three days.

I have always been very careful with the sun. I always use spf, I don’t have inflammation or rosacea and I still get broken capillaries in my teenage years and early 20s

Over the past few years I have realized that I get these little red dots that sort of look like red freckles on my eyelids I have looked up what they are called and I have come across something called Cherry angioma but it doesn't quite fit what I am describing they are not gross or skin tags that are red they are just little spots that are red like petechiae
Is there anything that can be done about them
sir i have a question about my condition, hope you give me some time
Does a vascular surgeon can help me better with it than a dermatologist or is the same?
Both can, and your Derm may refer you to a vascular specialist.
I have many on my legs.,... since I was 16
Me too. I had 6 sessions of saline I jections amd they disappeared. They are slowly starting to come back though so I definitely would recommend sunscreen x
I had KTP laser done to get rid of mine about 5 or 6 years ago by a double board certified cosmetic surgeon.
Do they come back?
@@juliofajardo1070 Mine did not come back.
I use dark powder or foundation to blur them on work days. I can't afford the laser treatments. My mom had these veins.
I have red spots on face and body , don’t know how to treat
Burn them or Infared lights protect eyes. Takes a while but dries them up.
You stated in a different video ( probably a newer one ) that you like and use the Dermelect spider vein cream ( which might be vitamin k based ). Please comment.
I have skin tags on neck went to dermatologist and the Dr lsprayed some kind of frozen spray on them but they aren’t coming off !? They have redness around them still not coming off I think they should be cut off I’m wondering if this office is just making me come in for visits instrpead of just getting rid of them straight
Super helpful, thank you 😊!!
Glad it was helpful!
I had my dermatoligist blast my face with V beam laser! I bruised up and swelled up like crazy! But- they're gone now! So it was worth it!.. They are hard to get rid of though, even with lasers, so it took a few treatments. But honestly, if you want to get rid of them, just go get zapped- ha ha!
I got mine from rubbing an icecube on my face for years

All of my spider veins are on my legs 🦵 it’s so embarrassing
Broken capillaries on skin is last layer of skin?? Facial veins can absorb the skincare products to body and cause any diseases, facial veins people don't use any chemical based serums?? Its going to affect the skin again anyone pls reply
Facial spider veins can usually be treated by advanced Electrolysis
I got a tonne of spider veins across my cheeks from mask wearing during covid. And I still need to wear masks sometimes because of health. Is there anything I can do to prevent the friction from causing further broken veins? I tried apply thick cream to my cheeks; sort of like a barrier between my skin and the mask, but it didn't have the desired effect, and I got more veins. Any tips would be very appreciated : ) Thank you.
I intend to get them lasered, but want to know first how to prevent them, to stop them coming back.
I got mine due to putting ice directly on my cheeks, hypothermia can cause it.
