    That video of how large the caribou herd and migration used to be was really awe-inspiring. I really do hope they are able to recover and continue being the symbol of the North for generations to come.

    • @TheRealTedBaird
      @TheRealTedBaird  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Me too a bunch of that footage was from the 70's Caribou need more attention and protection they are so strong and capable yet so fragile.

    • @MrJayson204
      @MrJayson204 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheRealTedBaird Caribou depend on the Artic ice sheets for migratory purposes right? I have a suspicion that climate change is what has led to their dwindling numbers. Polar bears are another animal whose numbers have been decimated because the ice sheets they once relied on to use to cross to land with more game are so weak now due to the Artic warming that they just break apart before ever really forming. So the Polar bears either starve during the winter or they now have to risk swimming hundreds of kilometers to find more fertile lands.
      It's really sad 😔

    I tell you what a trip, there is so much to like about the video from the eagles to the seals to the rapids, to the fishing... but man the shots from the go pros when you guys were shooting the C4 rapids were awesome, You guys got some great shots from the cameras mounted to the canoes because it really captured the rapids and what the looks and force of the rapids were as your were padding through and them beside and behind you and it was funny as hell you see Jim is just giving er hell though them and most people would be panicked just worrying about getting through unscathed and here is Jim all excited because he sees a Seal in the rapids near him, how can you not love that
    I dont doubt you guys were dead dog tired after a few days like that but man what an adventure

    Hello Baird Bros, Don't let anyone from exploiting for commercial purposes this beautiful untouched wilderness, don't let anyone from exploiting for commercial purposes this beautiful pollution free wilderness. You met an Arctic Tern: in North Europe, breeds in colonies or singly along coasts, on islands in sea bays, locally in Taiga or barren mountain, or on Tundra near water. In winter off South Africa and Antarctica. Probably has the longest migration of all birds. At the end beautiful and surprising view, with a crackling and regenerating fire. Great video, thanks so much. Bye from Kanaltaler people.

    Estoy viendo éstos vídeos ya un poco viejitos pero re entretenidos y me ponía nervioso cuando pasan por unos rápidos muy peligrosos, me encantaban cuando salían los hermanos Baird juntos, nosostros éramos 4 hermanos pero murieron 3 así que me hacen recordar cuándo salía con mis hermanos de campamento con los Scouts

    Epic videography in this one, especially those waves you made it in to and that thunderstorm. I got goosebumps over here! Nature scenery, there is not so much else that can be said.. As always, thank you for sharing, it is really a honour to watch this cause i know the labour that goes in to it. Thank you, both of you!

    The bugs give me anxiety from my game room. I can’t imagine what they’re like in person. We don’t have that issue in Pennsylvania. Not like that at least. Cool video guys. Thanks.

    Dudes. Great 🎥. That place looks amazing. I liked the familiarity of the "thank you" given to the Bald Eagle by Jim. And Ted, your soliloquizing near the end was magical. Nice work!
