Back in the day, if I was spending a fair few days in a resort I'd make sure to be a "regular" in a friendly bar or cafe. Then, when I asked if it was ok to store my bags there for a few hours on the last day they'd normally oblige. Otherwise I'd check and see if the local rail station had storage facilities. A bit cheeky of hotels to charge, but they have done so with things like wi-fi or phone calls, so not unexpected.
I suppose your contract with the hotel ends at your checkout time so they have no obligation to store your luggage. Most hotels offer a late checkout, at a price, so it’s up to you. 😎

There are a lot of familiar restaurants there Kevin some of them were there when we had the apartment in Alcudia
