      You can look up the QR code on the top of the battery online. And that should tell you what they are. What you see as "knock off"? The Chinese see as efficiency of scale. The more you make of anything, the cheaper it gets to make more of it. That is why they now rule the solar and battery market. In China they understand that many hands make light work, and so do many minds. And the more people you have working on a product, the faster it will improve. In China when someone comes up with something new that improves something, they do not hide it behind patent walls. They share it with everyone else so that the rest of the industry can help them scale it up and drive down the costs. Science knows no borders John. What is valid in the environment is universal and observable everywhere else. The Chinese do not have to copy anyone anymore. They graduate 10x as many STEM students a year as the US does. Without saddling their young with 6 figure debt loads btw....

    Well, sir, it`s folks like you that force these companies to improve so you`re doing a great service. I had a fish market once and we promised the freshest and the least expensive fish anywhere and the best service. Because of it we moved a lot of product and the money flowed. The Chinese seemed to have a motive of stabbing the customers in the back if they can figure out any possible way of doing it. I read a book about their tactics once and still feel disgusgted. Call me paranoid, but I was a product tester and after testing about 12 of their emergency radios they had a 100% success rate at failure and I think they`re selling defective emergency radios to put lives in danger.
    Building a radio nowdays, with the circuitry being on a CHIP, cannot be messed up that many times, on EMERGENCY RADIOS no less, unless it`s 100% intentional. I wonder...do the BMSs in these batteries and all the other digital electronics mass produced by the communists have a remote control kill switch they can message by satellite when they decide to invade? Why would anyone deliberately flood the American and Canadian market with useless emergency radios? If you`re in a very strong signal area and know nothing about what a real radio receiver is supposed to be able to do you could easily be fooled by the gimmick. I`m not that person. Something sinister is going on. It makes me furious!

      Don't need the BMS. Rip that bitch out and just install a 4S balance cable on your 12V or 8S on your 24V and buy one of those cheap $1 cell voltage alarm buzzers and put it on a switch do it doesnt drain down the first cell or two. Then get a medium level RC hobby/lipo balance charger that has at least 1A balancing current and use that every now and then during a charge cycle in case things start to drift apart. The toolkitRC M8S is right around $50 and while its not the best (I find I have to calibrate it a bit more than I'd like) it does the job and is a 400W 18A charger...I think it has 1A balancing current. Also has a bunch of other features including a CC CV power supply that does 0-30V up to 18A.
      I think the ISDT Q8 Max or the budget model the Q6 Nano would be a better choice from what I've heard. Similar specs on the Q8 max for a bit more money

So if we just STOP buying for a month, or paying $340 average the prices will drop like a rock to under $200 for one.

    Automated battery testers / loggers do have a use in that they allow a decent baseline comparison of batteries. It might be easy to invoke the Volkswagen effect and think that the cheapie battery assemblers have found ways to trick the testers but, honestly, that's gifting those assemblers far too much credence and technical ability. Most of them are hard pressed to even do basic wiring. None the less, the nice easy constant discharging done by most of the youtubers with these types of testers is just not going to show how these, usually, junk grade batteries are going to perform in the real world. You do need a mix of high and low current draws as well as intermediate partial charging. Do these things and the junk cells will soon diverge from each other in SOC and then the BMS will have to step in and top / tail capacity to prevent over/under charge in the worst cells. Appreciate what you are doing John, keep up the good work.

    This is actually a 100amp bms system, unless you bought the Smart model, which you dont have in video, you'll get the results posted here. And you never completely topped off the battery in your last video... so no wonder it didn't pull rated.

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think I referred to the video as any more or less than 100A, but the battery was fully topped off, the BMS disconnected it from charging and it's starting voltage was above 13.4 as I recall where they will drop to after being charged. The only way you can get sitting volts above 13.30 is to have fully charged it. The Chins battery is simply poor quality.

    Redodo formerly Zooms
    LiTime formerly AmpereTime
    PowerQueen
    And looks like Chins Edit ok maybe not Chins
    Are all built EXACTLY the same. Case, BMS, cells, components to secure the cells together, bus bar material, terminals, silicone wire.....all of it...identical when you look at same size batteries. The 200Ah Redodo will be identical to the LiTime and the Powerqueen except the sticker on the case.
    I nabbed two of those PowerQueen minis for $279 each...at the end of the day I think it was $560 to my door (in 1 day! but they were stocked only a state away).
    Both had identical IR nearly. 3.674 and 3.682 milliohms. Amp hours identical: at 10A discharge pulled 105Ah. Watt hours nearly identical: 1364Wh and 1365Wh. I'll have an electronic load that can do 40A/6000W in a weekish but I think the 10A test was good enough. I'm sure at 0.2C it would pull 103Ah or better. Watt hours would still probably be over 1300Wh since they had fairly low IR. I wanted to crack them open and measure the IR of each cell group (pouch cells, I think its 5 in parallel and 4 of those groups in series.) So looks like it would be 0.9mΩ or lower since I'm sure the connections and terminals were part of it. Probably 0.7mΩ or less per 5 parallel...so 3.5mΩ per 20Ah pouch cell?

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ionic Imports is a hidden partner to 11 of these brands. From the start Power Queen and Zooms existed, then they joined the rest in late 2022. About 75% are identical, but some that look identical may have different BMS, build and Cell brands. Depends on which sourcing was used.

      A basic description in a single paragraph. Using the URDC 12/24 amzn.to/3zpO5E7 you set its diversion to 14.5 to a all divert with a 3 phase SSR or a auto cam over 3 phase switch to a single 150 Amp Rectifier that stays in effect till another standard low voltage board set at 12.5 volts disconnects the power to it ( the supply bridge to the 3 phase SSR) which in turn returns the 3 legs from the turbine to the LiFePO4 battery.

    ZOOMS POWER is now called REDODO, which is pronounced Red Oh Dee Oh, BTW.
    I don't understand why you would object to folks testing their batteries with actual battery test equipment. The storage battery makers have always specified that a given battery will deliver X amount of power provided that the power is drained off at a specific rate ( the "perfect trickle" that you seem to deplore) and that goes back decades to gel cells, wet LA, glass mat. Any other rate of drainage may not give the same results and that's why standards like C Rate are used, so all batteries are tested to the same standard. Granted, you will get inflated capacity results if you discharge at LOWER C Rates than described by the manufacturers and those results would be invalid, but most that I see reviewing batteries seem to try to get as close to the C Rate as possible. The way you describe hookin' up this gadget and that gizmo, willy nilly, to different batteries has got to yield inconsistent and non-conclusive results. That's my view of it, anyway.
    All those real world loads ARE great for making sure that the safety features of the BMS are working as advertised by over loading.

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll stick with real use test. I have found depending on maker or brand you can get anything to perform on a clinical level drip test you designed it for. And if you intend on buying something based on those test, then use it on that plan. I have found BMS failures, thermal issues, massive current differentials, Conductor failures and other problems that will not be found treating what you buy like a fragile lab rat. But that should not stop you from doing it the way some who sell it will do it. Over 85,000 product recalls a year come from lab rat level testing that got it shipped right after the buyer puts items into real world weather, adverse conditions, and uses.

    • @mrhalfstep
      @mrhalfstep ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JOHNDANIEL1 What you say is fair enough, but would you agree that whoever is doing the testing has an obligation to apply the same test procedure to all of the test's subjects as identically as is possible, if the results are to have any real meaning?
      Furthermore, do you think it would be fair to accuse a company of selling you a 95 ah, battery when they advertised it as a 100 ah battery IF and only IF it is discharged at a .2 C rate and you did your test at 2 C? If I sold you a car with a warranty, wouldn't you expect it to be void if you ran the engine 2000 rpm over the red line, marked on the speedometer, constantly?
      I, personally seek out channels like this to help me determine whether the battery delivers as advertised, not to see what it takes to tear one up. That can easily vary from one battery off the production line to the next, as well. I've worked in manufacturing for over 40 years and I know that it's rare to have every unit tested as it comes off the line. Spot checks are the rule and that is basically all any YT reviewers are doing anyway. You, as a reviewer, might easily manage to tear up the one battery that came off the line, sub par, that day or there is an equal chance that you won't tear up the one best, most perfectly produced battery ever made in that plant and would have others expect that they could get the same performance out of their own battery that they purchased, based on your test.
      Of course you should point out and downgrade any battery that doesn't hold up to the maker's claims, but I'm pretty sure that I can devise a way to charge ANY battery or discharge ANY battery and make it smoke. That would be classified as abuse though.
      I absolutely believe that tearing into a battery and observing the quality of the connectors, wires, cells, electronics and hardening/cushioning can be predictive of problems down the road.
      Sorry about the long comment, but my wife doesn't let me talk much. Peace, buddy.

      @@mrhalfstep There is already a pile of folks doing micro amp test to get to a rating, I run them to full draw in many videos if they hold up to basic testing just you would get when you use them, ran to inverter shut downs which is the only outcome to really consider. For the 1% who will run a 10 watt LED on them till they are dead, there is the 95%, 50+ channels who make videos testing AH with scientific instruments anyone would NOT have in their RV and Boat when choosing a battery I guess. So they can watch those honestly. But if your wanting to exchange a fisher price 1/2 ounce plastic hammer test for a Kubota mounted air over hydraulic jack hammer test, then I am here. I never try to blow up a battery, only 4 out of over 40 have failed but never using over the posted ability.
      Get the info everywhere, me, them and especially yourself as you venture into these newer battery options. Just careful with promoters on You Tube, I have seen them hack test with hidden booster wires to make a junk battery sell by adding watts from a charger during the so called amp hour test just to sell batteries. 2 of them with "real popular You Tube pushed channels" took down numerous obvious videos when me and a few others called them on it. So, Proceed with caution.

      @@JOHNDANIEL1 I will keep my eye out for the hacks that are faking results, as you suggested. I've already found my own share of fakers as I've researched solar generators, for instance. More than once I've pointed out to their ilk, "Hey you said you were getting such and such result during your test, but as I watch the video you clearly are not because I see this that and the other thing" and they don't respond to me or any other comment writer. And on that note I'll close by thanking you for taking the time to respond to me. You have a great day, friend.

    chins have now removed the reference to prismatic cells and stuff the boxes with pouch cells instead,,
    its so typical the first couple of years build decent batteries with good cells when the market is establised ,change to much cheaper cells and rip of the suckers

    Mr Daniel can two dc to ac inverters be wired to double the output to a rv ?

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not unless they have matching parallel connecting circuits. A communication cable that like a pair of inverter generators matches the output cycles of their power.

      I got 2 and if they're ok I'll get a 3rd. I just need 3,500 w capacity to run up to 500 watt 40 amp output off of them for 7 hours a night.
