Great video! But lets talk about thoes battery connections, always remove the negative terminal first when taking out a battery. When adding a battery install the positive terminal first.
+ Add a battery, positive gets install first.
- Remove a battery, negative gets pulled first.
Avoids sparks and can prevent fusible links from blowing :)
Awesome walkthrough dude! I followed stereo by step as I did my AEM fuel pump and filter replace. Gas fumes are crazy even outdoors with a fan.
Pro tip: Use wood shims to hold tabs open on sump, or even pennies, everyone should have pennies lol...

Awesome video very interesting to watch how it actually works I had my dw65c installed about 3 years ago and just recently the car started smelling like fuel so I'm wondering if some of those gaskets are kind of worn out or moved around or something but it's running perfectly fine but there's a smell every time you get in there in the morning of fuel we got to open the windows to get that💩 out so I'm wondering what's going on there.
Dang I wish this had a 450 pump to show the wiring but this was still helpful! Thanks for the video! Also love the S3 content seeing as how thats my current car. (helping my little bro with his 06 STI)

Im confused. At 6:01, you state "This is a great time to replace your fuel filter" and point to the fuel pump canister/filter?. Isn't the filter already mounted on the bottom of the pump? Is there another filter that I don't know about on these cars?

Thanks for this video! I'm stuck at the part of reinstalling the entire housing back into the tank. Did you have to push down on it hard to get the bolts back on? Mine doesn't seem to be going back in properly... cheers

I basically bought the flex fuel kit. 1000cc injectors, AEM 320lph E85 compatible pump, fuel regulator, fuel sensor, E85 sensor....I also tapped in and got the IAG AOS atmospheric vent, every bushing known to man kind, 3 port electronic boost, better pitch mount, 1st oil change, UEL headers, up pipe, DP....can't wait till they all come in. I'm going to have fun installing them all. I buddied up with the best Tuner in ATL, so I'm all ready for him when I'm done. I'm going to try and DIY video it for my channel. I just have to figure out how to edit....or else it'll be one hell of a long video. lol.

Just started up car after install and the pump is making loud whistling noise sounds like a vacuum any idea what that could be
sweet video ... I will use this on my own STI 2012 :) ... so much cheaper doing this stuff yourself - especially when its accompanied by an easy to follow video as yours.
Do you have a Turbo or injector install video at all ?
Not yet. Hopefully an injector video someday.

What was the knock sensor and all the other gauges you had going? What info do those tell you? I have a v3 too for my 04 wrx but need a custom tune because I have a hybrid swap and all the maps made my car have check engine lights so cobb said I need a custom tune haven't gotten one done yet plan to soon!
Do you need a tune after you install this? And do I need to upgrade the fuel pump in order to do a stage 2 Protune?
Surprisingly enough no tune needed.
Is it possible to just replace the entire assembly? Or do you have to purchase the individual pump and swap it out in the assembly
You can buy a new assembly it would actually be a good idea for higher mileage cars as there’s a filter I there but also you would have to do the new pump yourself.
So how do you do the fuel filter?
Out of curiosity is there a benefit to just changing the pump and not just buying the pump and assembly?
You should definitely buy a new assembly. But the major benefit to this was, I was upgrading the fuel pump. However, if I were to ever do this again, I would buy the assembly and the aftermarket fuel pump in install in the new assembly.
Ok thought that would be the case just thought of check with I since I had some one .

Installed an AEM pump today with help from you. 1st startup, ran fine. 2nd startup, engine started hesitating when getting into boost. What do you think is going on?

Did your dw65 come with another + and - wire? Mine did and I didn't replace the OEM wiring. What do you think of that? Is it possible the new unit isn't receiving enough juice through the OEM wire?
It's a o ring leak . It probably went in crooked, or its the built in fpr valve opening to soon. I have been thru at least 3 65c and 4 300c pumps and 3 aem pumps. Just put in a 300c pump 3 months ago and its going bad again already. I've replaced wiring harnesses, used a pnp harnesses to get direct battery voltage to the Pump modulation controller, i replaced the pump controller, new pedal pos sensor, new throttle body all resent. Deatswerks junk, AEM 100%made in China , Gonna have to try a Walbro I guess
How long was the overall process? I know you had to mess with the cameras and the angles.
Did this fix the problem? My wrx is doing the same thing and I'm freaking out

No I actually had a loose MAF sensor the screws fell out somehow and that was what made it run like poo.

+Sids_wrxhatch Sgt They say you don't. However my car did see some changes on the A/F Correction and needed to be retuned due to the map pulling a lot of fuel. Basically the car was running richer.

It’s the bottom white thing you click the pump into. So basically just buy a new one before attempting this and you’ll know.

where is the fuel filter at on a 2014 wrx sti?
Stan Pettit it’s the white thing that the fuel pump snaps into. The other filter is the pre filter. Make sure to buy a filter beforehand. Once you see it you will know how to change it from this video.

What did you find to be the problem? Same issue in my 2015 Forester XT. I purchased a fuel pump but I just got an Etune and Im hoping it will clear it up... Let me know so I dont waste time putting in new pump!! ;) Thanks for INput and cool instructive videos. Bearded Brother!!

I would only put one on the pump and the other on the fuel feed line that connects to the filter. If the oem pump uses one o ring and the spacer, that's how I would do it. If the dimensions are the same, putting two on the pump seems illogical.

Roger Arroyo Yeah thats a good idea if your doing it might as well replace the filter. In the previous comment i meant to say i didn't do the filter. So I will have to do the process again.
But why was it so hard to put yours in back in the filter? Is it cuz it had gasoline and the o rings got hard or something? Cuz mine slipped in easy with little force and it clipped on
Roger Arroyo I used 2 O-rings that makes sure that it has a very tight fit. I'm not sure if the DW300c is the same but if it came with two O-rings and you only put back on then thats why.
Car still smell like gas?
