Great diagnostics, my only concern is the after market pump. I replaced my complete pump assembly with a cheap online unit OK problem fixed then 3 weeks later i broke down had to pay $300 for a towing back to my house. After checking everthing finally found bad fuel pump and replace just the pump as you did but purchased from local store and this one had a "MADE IN USA" Carter mfg. My point is cheap aftermarket parts on a critical item can let you down and cost more!
Thanks Mark. I agree that sometimes the cheap aftermarket parts can fail quickly! I took a gamble. It’s like rolling the dice . Recently - I had a Kia Soul GDI (gas direct injection) fuel pump fail. It’s cam driven. I went cheap Amazon and failed TWO pumps . One made it 9 months, the 2nd made it ONE month. I couldn’t bring myself to spend $400 for the new part so bought a OEM pump at a local salvage yard, with a lifetime warranty on a used pump!
Can I get a part number and which parts store you got the pump from, I have a 2007 Impreza 5 Speed manual 2.5i SOHC, Ibet the pump is the same, I'm right down river from you in Stillwater, MN
I got the pump from CarParts.com. Online . The pump is made by DriveMotive part number RH31450021. It was $18. This pump is for turbo models and also for H6 (six cylinder Subaru models) that need more fuel flow . It may work for standard non turbo engines, but a google search for the correct pump for your car is what I recommend! Good luck neighbor!
Another one saved! Excellent!
